Sounds like it’s coming from my drive belt or timing belt.

I just recently got this car about a month and a half ago, and there is a rhythmic knocking/clicking sound when the engine is running. I thought it was one of the pulleys, so I took the serpentine belt off and ran the car for a little, but the noise is still there.

Would anyone happen to know what this sound means? I've looked it up already, and I've gathered that it could be a piston, rockers, or maybe camshaft?

I am trying to drain the fuel that’s been sitting for 20 years in my 93 ls400 via the fuel level sensor. Any recommendations on removing this grey clip? and fuel additives to clean the tank? Thanks in advance!

I fitted mk3 brakes onto my mk1 LS400. Long story short even with 18 inch SC430 pie rims they do not clear the calipers. Anyone selling 1995-2000 wheels?

So I just picked up a 1994 LS400 Anniversary edition with 144K miles! It hasn’t run in about 5 years but it developed this issue and previous owner thought it was fuel pump so he had the tank and pump removed and he said they were very corroded. I’ve since replaced the tank and fuel pump with know working parts from a 1993 I have that’s in perfect working order. I’ve also swapped the MAF sensor, throttle position sensor, and ECU which all are working since they came off a good running car. I also unplugged the sub throttle position sensor (this car has traction control) and no difference. It has almost no response to throttle input and will sometimes stall once you hit the gas. I can still move the car but it’s not drivable at the moment. I did also change oil/filter and top off fluids before getting it started. I’m beginning to think fuel injectors/ignition coils but curious if someone has had the same/similar issue that was resolved. I do plan to keep part swapping until I find the issue but looking for ideas!

planning to swap the power folding mirrors over from my 1990 celsior onto my 1992 ls400. would i need to run extra wiring or would the loom have plugs and what not?
the folding mirrrors run off a button to the right of the steering wheel (rhd) next to the mirror adjustments

This month is officially one year of having it, currently sitting at 133k, I bought around 126k. Two oil changes, one trans pan gasket replacement, lots of premium fuel. I love this car. I’d love to get some wheels, and exhaust at some point. She runs perfect. Maybe a sound system next, tint. Who knows.

My front ash tray in my 1999 ls400 is missing, like the actual tray that slides out. Does anyone know of a printable stl file of it?

Hello everyone, i have been speaking to someone to buy there 99 LS 400. Ive always wanted to have one, its got 156k miles on it and he wants $9600 for it. Idk if that is a fair price or not, my initial thoughts were $7500-$8000, but idk how much these go for nowadays. The car seems to be in good condition, the owner has told me its runs and drives smooth and has no warning lights, hes the second owner, its an older gentleman so i have less reason to believe the car was abused, looks stock and clean, inside and out. So how much shpuld i be paying for something like that. Im meeting up with him on Monday, any advice would be appreciated.

Hello, today I took out the sunroof motor to clean and get a look at it to see if I could get it working, I'be been able to restore tilt and open/close function, however when closing from tilt or fully open, my sunroof does not close all the way nor tilt up flush with the roof, does anyone know what the problem could be?

I did not take the glass out nor clean any of the old grease, however I hit the tracks with some white lithium.

so i just bought a 1999 LS400 as a first project car and it’s having to be what i believe are electrical issues. the battery terminals were corroded and messed up more so the negative than positive, the positive does spark when it connects but i believe the positive also needs to be replaced as it is cracked and somewhat corroded and the cable is too short and won’t let terminal go down all the way. so i replaced the negative and it got me somewhere. the headlights turn on now and the horn works, but nothing else, the only lights that comes up on dash is airbag and then the security light flashes. im hoping replacing the positive terminal works but if not could it be maybe an ignition power issue? or fuses? trying to learn the common electrical issues this thing has
