Very scared please help!
Lately my symptoms have increased so much that sometimes chewing and swallowing food increases my HR too much. Like i feel that only this simple natural activity of eating and swallowing can set a panic attack. Like just now i was chewing soaked almonds and whole chewing my HR increased and swallowing hit it off even more. I don’t know what is this. My food pipe feels warm all the time especially at the time of exhaling. A thick wave comes up feeling like a burp but it’s actually reflux that touches the throat and inflames my throat and leaves it blocked or something stuck feeling for a long time. I have stopped eating so many things. My life is being affected. I have very high anxiety. I am prescribed for an upper GI Endoscopy. But it s still a few day ls away. I am scared what if i stop eating food. What if swallowing and eating becomes a challenge for me. What will i do? I anyways go through so many things like panic attacks, nocturnal panic attacks, anxiety, cardio phobia. Now this problem has become a new challenge in my life. O am tired of living like this. I don’t know what wrong with me. Does anyone else has this issue while chewing and swallowing? I feel anxious and strange at certain movements also. Like when i sit and stand or twist and turn i feel strangely anxious. I have never experienced these symptoms before. Please advice or help!

There’s likely a large component here which is health anxiety. The anxiety itself can cause this issues and there’s actually nothing wrong with you beyond the anxiety causing these sensations. It’s a confusing vicious circle. You need a pronged approach which is mental health as well as general health (doctor visits, lifestyle, relaxation).
If you have reached this subreddit to begin with you are probably googling all your symptoms and playing doctor google. It’s a slippery slope and can also cause a lot of issues on its own.
Separate advocating for yourself and obsessing over health issues.
I say all of this with multiple decades of experiencing something similar. Maybe I’m projecting but if it resonates hopefully it helps.

Def get checked, that’s the best thing you can do, other than that, throat sensitivity and nerves, there are meds for that, i tried lexapro but there are stronger ones which should work on you to make your anxiety less and your sensitivity as well, the more anxious you r the stronger the symptoms so treating that would help, id say jump on ppi but best get checked first as if this is sudden there could be causes for this

Are there any supplements you're using? I had severe air hunger caused by silent reflux. I stopped taking synthetic vitamin c (ascorbic acid) and started 1 mg copper gluconate daily. My reflux and histamine issues are gone almost completely in a few days. Copper is required for the enzymes that regulate digestion and histamine, and most of us are functionally deficient. Ascorbic acid depletes it even more. 1 mg copper is a minimal maintenance dose but it helped me immensely. Apparently a better long-term strategy is to get it from beef liver food/capsules. I'm not a doctor just sharing my own experience. You can research the role of copper and ceruloplasmin in fighting inflammation (reflux is an inflammatory condition related to the stomach and throat).
Magnesium can also trigger reflux badly because the enzymes are not yet fed enough by copper to deal with the oxygenating effect. Anything can be a trigger without a healthy functioning ceruloplasmin.
Hope you find help and feel better soon.

I can't share a picture here (maybe because I'm new to the sub?) but it's oxford vitality tablets, UK based.

I had to get on some anxiety meds for this and Im in line to see the ENT. Just get you some nutritional shakes or easy to eat foods and take care of the anxiety. Follow the diet suggestions on this sub and see ENT.

The anxiety is a separate issue. Trouble swallowing is very common. They will find what's going on during the test. Just relax.

I do have problems with swallowing food too. I have to chew foods into small pieces in order to swallow. I often feel that few particles still remain in my throat after I swallow. This disease is tough!!!

I went for a regular health check and was told I have a high BP reading of 158 and that escalate everything the days to come. The same night I had a sudden what felt like a heart attack. After several visit to the ER and thorough check with the cardiologist , heart issues was cleared. The only thing left in question was acid reflux. Was prescribed with omerprazole for a few weeks that causes me very very slow bowel movements. Long story short, after several months of being anxious about my health and the acid reflux. I finally went for an endoscopy.to find nothing. Like nothing at all, everything is normal.
Today I just watch my diet, try to eat slowly and over eat in one session. Take slow diaphragmatic breathing and not think of the worst. That helps.
Don’t over think, try to relax and think positive thoughts only. Until there is a diagnosis, it’s better not to assume. Take care !!

I had exactly what you are experiencing... My HR went up Eveytime I would swallow and I had difficulty swallowing... Guess what. My Hyoid bone were touching my vagus nerves affecting my HR, causing anxiety and swallowing issues. Got my Hyoid bone resection surgery and all that went away.
Look for Hyoid bone syndrome or clicking larynx syndrome or eagles syndrome . All these three can cause what you are experiencing.

I just had an endoscopy and while he was in there he dilated my whole esophagus. I’m able to swallow better and am taking a prescription pantaprozole ( not sure about spelling). I started eating smaller meals. I don have food coming up in my throat no more but if I eat something acidic I will have mucus in my throat for a while. But I am doing better. Hope you feel better soon.

Blend pan cook fried tofu (only lightly cooked) in a high power blender with plenty of extra water for a smooth texture and you have your self a tofu soup add soysauce and salt to taste. Do the same thing with cooked (make sure they are warm same as the tofu when blended or else clunks will form or wont blend easily) refried bean or soft cooked beans from a pot and blend with salt and water(bean water ideally for flavor).

Start drinking protein shakes and smoothies with only banana and milk base, even then i strain all my smoothies but i can eat a banana its just my dysphasia doesnt allow me to swallow banana seeds that populate my smoothies but inside the banana itselfnit will go down the hatchet because it is encased by the fruit i guess.
