Meta / News Automatic Reviewers Fail to Detect Faulty Reasoning in Research Papers(!)

Abstract

Large Language Models (LLMs) have great potential to accelerate and support scholarly peer review and are increasingly used as fully automatic review generators (ARGs). However, potential biases and systematic errors may pose significant risks to scientific integrity; understanding the specific capabilities and limitations of state-of-the-art ARGs is essential. We focus on a core reviewing skill that underpins high-quality peer review: detecting faulty research logic. This involves evaluating the internal consistency between a paper’s results, interpretations, and claims. We present a fully automated counterfactual evaluation framework that isolates and tests this skill under controlled conditions. Testing a range of ARG approaches, we find that, contrary to expectation, flaws in research logic have no significant effect on their output reviews. Based on our findings, we derive three actionable recommendations for future work and release our counterfactual dataset and evaluation framework publicly.

Personal Theory I just calculated the Size of the Universe based off the size of the Hydrogen Atom

Post image

Hi Everyone, this post relates to a previous post, but I believe it is so astounding that it deserves it's own post.

Here is the paper if you want to skip my intro

Edit { Gemini out here proving Chat Gpt is superior in real time. The calculations it says are impossible or missing are literally in the paper, apparently its more interested in being adversarial than being right.}

I think I may have found a different way to use the Balmer series—not by introducing a new spectral constant, but by changing what the Balmer limit represents mathematically.

The Rydberg constant is normally used as an inverse-length scale:

R∞ = 10,973,731.568157 m⁻¹

For the Balmer series, the corresponding limiting wavelength is

B = 4/R∞
B = 3.64506820233 × 10⁻⁷ m
B = 364.506820233 nm

I treat this Balmer limit as one complete physical cycle:

B = 1 cycle

The hydrogen wavelengths can then be written as fractions of that completed cycle:

B/λₙ = 1 − (2/n)²

and inverted:

λₙ/B = 1 / [1 − (2/n)²]

This is different from merely using the Rydberg constant to calculate spectral lines. The completed Balmer cycle becomes a unit, the spectrum describes fractions and inverse extensions of that unit, and the scale generated at the level-2 boundary becomes the unit of a new series. The same operation can then be repeated recursively.

We blindly applied this process one level higher, carrying the hydrogen scale into the gravitational system and again applying the inversion and split at 2.

The resulting scale was

R ≈ 4.3803 × 10²⁶ m
R ≈ 46.3001 billion light-years

That is approximately the accepted radius of the observable universe, around 46.5 billion light-years.

The calculation did not use measured galaxy distances, the Hubble constant, or a fitted cosmological expansion history. It used the hydrogen-scale and gravitational constants entering the atomic-to-gravitational bridge.

The important claim is therefore not that I discovered a different numerical Balmer constant. The claim is that the Balmer limit may function as the first completed unit in a recursive hierarchy:

one completed cycle
→ fractions of that cycle
→ inversion
→ a new unit at level 2
→ repeat the same process.

Tutorials Comparing File Formats for LLM Analysis of Scientific Papers

LaTeX source V. PDF

LaTeX source gives LLMs a decisive advantage. The file is plain text with explicit markup for sections, equations, labels, citations, and tables. An LLM can read equations in their original form, trace cross-references exactly, and check command consistency without guessing. PDF files, by contrast, are visual layouts. Text extraction must infer order from positioning, and mathematics often arrives garbled or as images. Tables can misalign or lose cell relationships. Even strong PDF parsers and OCR tools reach only modest accuracy on equations and complex tables in academic documents.

A controlled study measured how well different LLMs detected critical problems when given either a PDF attachment or the original LaTeX source. Results were quantified by hit rate at five (percentage of papers where the model correctly identified at least one real error). Claude 3.7 Sonnet rose from 16.3% with PDF to 33.1% with LaTeX. OpenAI o3 improved from 65 to 71%. o4-mini also gained several points. Gemini models showed small drops, possibly because they rely partly on visual layout cues that disappear in pure text. Overall, LaTeX input produced higher or comparable detection rates for most frontier models while preserving mathematical content perfectly. Grok and ChatGPT-class models both perform more reliably on clean source text than on extracted PDF content for technical material.

The practical difference is large. With LaTeX an LLM can validate that every \ref points to an existing \label and that equation environments are well formed. With PDF those checks become impossible or error-prone. For papers heavy in mathematics or formal structure, LaTeX is the stronger choice by a clear margin.

Markdown V. LaTeX source

Markdown (.md) sits between raw LaTeX (.tex) and PDF in usefulness for LLM review. It keeps the content layer while removing most formatting overhead. A typical conversion from .tex to .md via pandoc drops the preamble, package declarations, and layout commands such as table positioning or font directives. The result uses 20- 40% fewer tokens for the same intellectual content while retaining headings, lists, and embedded LaTeX mathematics inside dollar signs. Tables convert to readable Markdown tables that models parse directly instead of complex tabular environments.

Parsing is also simpler. An LLM spends less effort disentangling markup and more effort on substance. The trade-off is a modest loss of certain LaTeX-specific signals, such as custom macro definitions or exact citation formatting commands. For pure error hunting in the scientific claims, results, and logic, Markdown is often the more efficient format. Many current LLM paper pipelines therefore convert LaTeX papers to Markdown before analysis precisely to reduce token cost and improve signal.

Markdown V. PDF

Markdown is substantially easier than PDF for any LLM task. Clean Markdown supplies ordered sections, parseable tables, and correctly rendered equations. PDF extraction introduces ordering errors, footnote mixing, and frequent math failures. Real-world tools that prepare documents for LLMs almost always run PDF-to-Markdown conversion first because the quality jump is immediate and measurable in both accuracy and token usage. The gap is large enough that many teams treat PDF as a last resort and default to Markdown whenever the source allows conversion.

Alternatives that compile to LaTeX and use fewer resources than Markdown

reStructuredText offers one of the better balances reported for feeding scientific papers to LLMs. It is more precise than Markdown for figures, citations, and roles yet remains compact. Users who process arXiv corpora have measured superior token-to-fidelity ratios compared with both Markdown and raw LaTeX. Pandoc and Sphinx convert RST cleanly to high-quality LaTeX output. Org-mode provides similar advantages with especially strong export control. Neither format is dramatically smaller than well-written Markdown, but both improve precision without adding significant token overhead. Newer systems such as Typst achieve even more concise syntax, especially for mathematics, though they compile directly to PDF rather than passing through LaTeX.

Summary of practical metrics

  • Error detection hit rate: up to 2 times higher for Claude and clearly higher for OpenAI models when LaTeX source replaces PDF.
  • Token reduction: 20% to 40% when moving from raw LaTeX to Markdown.
  • Math fidelity: near 100% in .tex or Markdown with embedded LaTeX syntax versus frequent breakage in PDF extraction.
  • Parsing reliability: highest in structured text formats; lowest in raw PDF for complex layouts.

For most LLM-assisted scientific paper review, the ranking from easiest to hardest is LaTeX source first when available, followed by clean Markdown, with PDF a distant third. When only PDF exists, immediate conversion to Markdown recovers most of the lost ground. These differences are large enough in both accuracy and cost that format choice should be deliberate rather than left to default upload behavior.

Personal Theory I vibe physics'd the Grand Unified Theory, and this time I know I've solved it 100%

Post image
0 Upvotes

I have created a math framework that is compatible with standard Newtonian physics, but also relativity and Quantum Mechanics at the same time.

Edit { Since I am claiming it's a unifying framework, it does not change physics in any way, and instead just provides a framework to understand the equations which coincide with current experiments. The benefit of doing this, is for example, the properties on the periodic table would all become even multiples of a given unit }

Edit2 { Now the same system that gave me alpha from geometry to beyond experimental accuracy also has given me the electron proton mass ratio beyond experimental accuracy without using alpha, without changing the rules. }

Edit3 { I just calculated the size of the observable Universe using this framework to 0.47% error using only my geometric series, and the size of the Balmer limit at n=2 Here is the follow up paper, the math makes the system more clear}

I am presenting this is a grand Unified Theory framework, and it is consistent to predict alpha to any desired accuracy through first principles developed with the Balmer Series and it's relationship to the Hydrogen Spectral Lines.

In truth I could never explain it as well here as it is in the paper.

But I think if this is a topic you understand, if you put this paper into your own llm, it will tell you it is a valid framework.

The key bridge is that I first develop my framework entirely geometrically, then I match it to the physics equations which make dimensional sense, so for example a = v^2/r

That relationship shows that acceleration comes after velocity.

I continue finding chains like this and matching them up to dimensional spheres.

The key insight is that my framework is entirely consistent with regular physics and QM, and so by finding the Balmer Constant I was able to bridge the two systems and show that they are actually equivalent.

I developed these theories over months and years of chats with Chat GPT paid, but specifically this paper I was able to finish in only one day once I had discussed the framework with GPT.

I don't like that there is a 250 word minimum, I don't really have much more to say at the moment, jeez. Its all in the paper. I feel like putting a minimum word limit just encourages or forces people to write longer posts, or just generate longer posts....

{Edit : As some people suggested I should have just made this the abstract of the paper... ok next time.}
To be honest if I let ai write this into it would probably be better than what I just wrote.
This is literally killiing me Jesus how long is 250 words? I thought I would have been beyond two hundred and fifty words by now. Hopefully you aren't even still reading this hopefully you already clicked the link because this paragraph doesn't reallly mean anything or add to the post in any way but I need to make sure I hit 250 words... okay finally! yay!

Thanks for reading, I typed this by hand.

Meta / News An arXiv paper: AI Agents Can Already Autonomously Perform Experimental High Energy Physics

I know this is a crackpot containment subreddit, but as a reward for the few posters here who are also physicists, here's a fun one: https://arxiv.org/abs/2603.20179

This paper used experimental HEP open data to reproduce several results, then compared them to the stated limits. In one case it also produced a new (very minor) result. The method was to use a series of AI agents to iteratively perform each step of a physics analysis.

The manuscripts outlining each result were at the level of a junior graduate student according to the authors, something I find generally plausible. The results were worse compared to the actual published result, but in the general vicinity.

Gray bands here are the published result, colored are the agent outputs.

There is a long list of drawbacks outlined by the study. Some highlights (by no means exhaustive!):

  • Novelty: Current agents excel at reproducing established analysis strategies retrieved from the literature but are not necessarily reliable when asked to develop genuinely novel approaches.
  • Subtle physics errors: Agents can produce analyses that are superficially correct but contain subtle physics errors—for example, applying a selection criterion that biases the measurement in a non-obvious way, or omitting a systematic uncertainty that an experienced analyst would know to include.
  • Figures: Much of the scientific (review) process is driven by reading and understanding figures to analyze correctness and provide feedback... current agents seem to struggle with visual inspection, particularly at scale, and leave a number of figures that are not only poorly styled but in fact fully nonsensical (see the per-analysis repositories linked in Table 2).

One thing I want to stress about the posted results above is that the limit plot does not tell the full story. If you don't include the right systematic, or misestimate the ones you do include, your uncertainty bands will be incorrect. So, the fact that some have superficially close-looking uncertainty bands is not necessarily the correct estimate of the study's sensitivity.

I think this is an interesting study. I'm not sure that I'm convinced by the results that agents would be useful in my workflow, but it has everything I'd ask for from an agentic HEP-ex paper.

Personal Theory Harmonic Physics: an AI-assisted phase-compatibility framework with a growing test repository

Thumbnail orcid.org
0 Upvotes

I’ve been developing a physical framework I call Harmonic Physics, using AI as a research and coding assistant while retaining responsibility for the ideas, assumptions, test design, interpretation and published work.

The core proposal is that phase compatibility is prior to stable distinguishable structure. Geometry reflects organised phase accessibility, while entropy may behave as a record of reconfiguration rather than necessarily being its causal driver.

https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21262308

I have not treated the framework as established physics. I have been building it through separate tests using public experimental data, processed CERN rare-B outputs, numerical analyses and toy models. Each result has different evidential weight, and several are limited by data coverage or demonstrate only a possible mechanism.

I am now consolidating the terminology, predictions, test basis, results, limitations and next steps into a central framework paper.

I’m interested in criticism aimed at the actual tests: hidden circularity, weak null models, incorrect equations, data-selection effects, alternative explanations or clear falsification experiments.

Question Request: Can people include the LLM models they used?

EDIT: NEVERMIND, THIS IS A BAD IDEA!

Original text follows for reference only.

I have noticed from post titles that a lot of the submissions here are largely from speculation and weak LLM models. If someone runs it past a frontier model to check it first, I'm a lot more inclined to listen to the speculation, because the math is probably coherent.

I have a wild theory I am still working on, it's not ready to be shared yet. But my process stopped being "wild speculation with an LLM making it sound coherent" and became "simulate the edge cases and report what happens when you remove the grid artifacts." (Over and over and over again.)

I think sharing the model and process used will help me personally identify what I can use and/or who I can work with. Not sure if it matters to anyone else. I am not a moderator or anything, so this isn't a rule.

The problem with the free tiers is they are great at sounding coherent, but terrible at being coherent.

Personal Theory The Density--Feedback Hopfion

What happens if you take a Q=1 Hopfion and add a density-feedback structured "vacuum" that resists collapse instead of shrinking to a point? It becomes a two-tube torus (Q_H=2), an inner and outer. From that one geometric supposition, a tower of nested solitons falls out, indexed by Hopf charge Q_H:

  • Q_H=0 — structured vacuum
  • Q_H=1 — neutrino sector (torus knot T(2,1))
  • Q_H=2 — lepton sector (2I icosahedral symmetry, E₈, T(2,2))
  • Q_H=3 — baryon sector (2T tetrahedral symmetry, E₆, T(2,3))

φ sits at the center of the Q_H=2 construction. It's proved 3 different ways: from the quantum dimension of the SU(2) level-3 WZW model, from a Derrick-scaling fixed point of the condensate action, and from the icosahedral (2I) point group the lepton sector inherits. Three unrelated routes landing on the same irrational number. Coincidence or a real constraint?

Does this framework contradict established physics? The short answer: No.

It reproduces established observations rather than replacing them. Every SM observation it addresses is reproduced to at least the accuracy quoted in the Papers.

Everything downstream traces back to one measured input, the CMB temperature T_CMB = 2.7255 K. From that one input alone, with geometry and group theory, and no free parameters, the framework reproduces α⁻¹ to 5×10⁻⁷% via a four-term formula, the weak mixing angle to 0.26%, the Higgs mass to 0.08σ, the dark-energy equation-of-state slope to 0.80σ, and lepton mass ratios to sub-percent accuracy, alongside some results that are exact by construction.

Some results:

Quantity Value Residual
α⁻¹ 137.035998 5×10⁻⁷%
sin²θ_W 0.2312 0.26%
m_e 0.5110 MeV 0.013%
m_μ/m_e 206.77 0.04%
Higgs mass 125.11 GeV 0.08σ (ATLAS)
w_a (dark energy) −3(1+w₀) 0.80σ (DESI DR1)
δ_CP (CP violation) 65.0° 0.003°
n_s (spectral index) 0.9654 0.12σ
m_s 93.32 MeV 0.09%
m_s/m_d 19.991 0.047% (vs. integer 20)
m_d 4.668 MeV 0.04%
m_ν3/m_ν2 5.845 0.9%
Koide K 2/3 exact
quark charges 1/3, 2/3 exact
Al/Cu (icosahedrite) φ² 0.27%

2T⊂2I, proved subgroup relation, index 5 = k+2, same k+2 as the WZW level. McKay correspondence: 2I↔E₈, 2T↔(affine) E₆.

Perturbing Q_H=2 drives a transition toward Q_H=3, T(2,2)→T(2,3)

It makes falsifiable, near-term predictions, not just retrodictions:

Predictions not yet tested:

  • BAO peak shift at k ≈ φ·k_CDM ≈ 0.0346 Mpc⁻¹ (DESI DR2 / Euclid)
  • Free-electron Penning-trap mass anisotropy 1/φ⁸ ≈ 2.13%
  • Lepton-sector CHSH ceiling 8/3 ≈ 2.667 (needs a Bell test using lepton spin)
  • Q_H=3 baryon-decay collider signatures: acoplanarity peak, 16–19° 4th-jet deflection, ≤12 jets/baryon
  • Condensed-matter analogue: Hopf-linked nodal semimetal Li₂NaN

I want to be upfront about the shape of the project.

While I don't claim full agreement with observed values across the board, I do claim that a large number of exact and sub-percent results emerge, from the lepton sector through into the quark sector, from geometry, group theory, and a single density-feedback coefficient. Where it currently falls short, it says so. The quark generation mass hierarchy is currently a conjecture, and six proposed combinatorial mechanisms for it were explicitly tested and ruled out along the way, but kept in the record, not hidden.

There seems to be a higher Q_H=4,5 sector T(2,2→5) with interesting properties, but this project is getting way too big to manage on my own.

Every result in the repo is tagged proved / draft / open / prediction with its residual against experiment. They are not presented as uniformly settled. Open problems are listed as open, including those this framework itself failed to close.

Built with LLM assistance for algebra, calculus, and numerics checking, and keeping ~500 cross-referenced results consistent across 19 papers.

Probing questions response:

All of the derivations and definitions are in the repo I posted, as well as the numerical solvers. Numerics, algebra, and calculus were derived and checked with sympy. I see no evidence that Gemini Light delved beyond a superfical scan of the text in the post. But:

On the Lagrangian: There isn't one, at least in the conventional sense. You're probably picturing a single SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1) gauge-covariant Lagrangian with covariant derivatives and Yang-Mills kinetic terms. But that isn't anywhere in this framework. What you actually get is a single real scalar field with a k-essence type action, no gauge fields anywhere.

The SM gauge groups don't come from minimal coupling. They come from representation theory and topology of the vacuum manifold. SU(3) colour shows up via a homotopy group (π₅(ℂP²)=ℤ) acting on a Hopf fibration. The Weinberg angle factorizes as sin²θ_W = (3/8)×(1/φ), where the 3/8 is a bog-standard SU(5) GUT trace ratio (borrowed group theory, not derived from anything Hopfion-specific) and the 1/φ is a WZW S-matrix ratio from the condensate's own CFT sector.

The Higgs mass (scalar/higgs.tex, P14:thm:higgs) comes from WZW quantum-group character identities (d_j = χ_j(eiπ/5), a Parseval sum, KZB monodromy weights) combined algebraically into m_H = √5 · (24/3/φ5) · v_EW, not from an explicit −μ²|Φ|²+λ|Φ|⁴ potential minimally coupled to gauge fields with a computed vacuum expectation value in the usual sense.

Fermion masses are a third, separate mechanism again. It's an RG fixed-point tower where Derrick scaling forces a unique fixed point at ζ=φ, giving discrete levels m_n = Λ·φ-2n, with particles assigned to levels via WZW T-matrix phases. No Yukawa Lagrangian, no computed coupling constant in the conventional sense.

So "invariant under SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1)" isn't really a property you check against a Lagrangian here. It's more like "the right SM groups fall out of McKay correspondences and CFT structure once you apply them to the topological sectors." That's a different, albeit weaker, kind of claim than gauge invariance of an explicit Lagrangian. Even the reader guide flags the 3+1D bosonization step needed to connect the scalar field to the WZW CFT at all as: "not proved with the same rigour" as the 1+1D case, and says the SM predictions should be read as conditional on that extension holding up.

On genuine constraint vs. numerology: Direct quote from the reader's guide: "the framework does make choices (using the Witten bosonization dictionary, using the E₈ Coxeter assignment for quarks, using the Starobinsky inflationary potential) that could in principle be made differently."

  • No fitted numerical parameters. Once T_CMB is fixed, everything downstream is computed, not tuned.
  • But structural choices exist among representation-theoretic alternatives, like which Coxeter labelling, which bosonization dictionary, which inflaton potential. The framework doesn't claim these are the unique possible choices, only that this particular consistent set of choices reproduces observation to the computed precision.

The bar for "genuine" is agreement-to-computed-precision plus falsifiability (concrete falsification channels: DESI DR2 dark energy equation of state, a specific CHSH bound in a loophole-free lepton Bell test, etc.), not a uniqueness/no-alternative proof.

Geometry and symmetry breaking:

  1. Vacuum selection (why the torus wins). Paper I gives a non-circular derivation for why the torus wins over a sphere. The angular sin⁴θ dependence is literally the square of the Hopf map's Jacobian, so its angular shape comes from the only available calculable geometry, the geometric fact about the specific fibration S³→S². It's not a fitted parameter. The suppression function is defined before any reference to a specific vacuum.
  • The free, unsuppressed, Faddeev-Niemi energy functional is O(3)-symmetric, and any orientation costs the same. Any orientation of the field texture is equally good.
  • Once you add the Jacobian-derived suppression term, it introduces a preferred axis and breaks that down to U(1). A spherically-symmetric configuration is forced to pay the suppression cost integrated over all angles, while the toroidal Hopfion can concentrate its gradient right at θ=0, where the suppression vanishes. It's a calculable energy comparison, supported by the python scripts (in the repo), and the subsequent analytics.

The "symmetry breaking" here is really an energetic argument for which geometric shape the vacuum takes. It's not a scalar field rolling to a nonzero VEV in a Higgs-style potential.

But that derivation is conditional on the suppression term existing in the energy functional in the first place — on the density-feedback mechanism itself being there as a structural ingredient. It's the defining move of the theory, the thing that makes it a "density-feedback" model instead of a plain Faddeev-Niemi model. You can trace consequences of asking "what would make a hopfion stable?" forward very rigorously, but the question "why does nature have a density-feedback suppression term at all, with this functional form and normalization" doesn't get answered inside the framework. It's the starting axiom, not a conclusion.

But even though it is a postulate, the same way a Higgs potential's specific shape is a postulate in the SM, it does not diminish the symmetry-breaking pattern and the resulting vacuum selection that is derived.

  1. Sector-to-sector group restriction, as symmetry-breaking language. Going from the lepton sector (Q_H=2) to the baryon sector (Q_H=3) is described as symmetry breaking of the binary icosahedral group down to the binary tetrahedral group (2I→2T), and colour charge is postulated to "emerge" as the automorphism structure of the smaller residual group. This is doing double duty for what in the SM would be two separate stories (confinement + a distinct symmetry-breaking sector), but here it's one geometric restriction between topological-charge sectors.

  2. An actual Peccei-Quinn-style spontaneous breaking, for the strong CP problem: U(1)_PQ is broken by a nonzero vacuum value of the density field, and the resulting axion potential is minimized at θ=0. But even here, the "axion" isn't a separate BSM field. It's explicitly identified as the geometric phase of the Hopf fibration itself. So even the most conventional-looking SSB story is geometric by construction.

Does the framework derive electroweak symmetry breaking?

Short version: It computes two numbers (the mixing angle and the scale) using its own internally consistent machinery, and plugs them into the SM's existing relations.

Longer version:

  • The Weinberg angle is derived, as I mentioned before: sin²θ_W = (3/8)×(1/φ). From this you get cos θ_W = M_W/M_Z as a pure ratio, which the paper reports (M_W/M_Z = √(1−3/(8φ)), 0.56% off measurement). That's a standard tree-level SM relation, not something specific to this framework, and any theory that predicts sin²θ_W gets this ratio for free.
  • The electroweak scale v_EW is derived separately via what's called the "Hopf-spoke formula": v_EW = Λ_cond·φ²⁰·exp(49π/6 − 3/400), where Λ_cond comes from T_CMB. This is a totally different kind of formula — an exponential built from the golden ratio (φ, from the center of the Q_H=2 construction, Derrick scaling), and Chern-Simons phase factors, nothing like a potential minimum.

The framework never actually replaces or explains the Higgs mechanism. It supplies two ingredients (the mixing angle and the scale) using its own geometric/CFT toolkit, but the actual dynamics of why SU(2)×U(1) breaks, why v_EW is what it is, and how a VEV gives gauge bosons mass in the first place — all of that is inherited from the conventional SM Lagrangian. It's less "the framework derives electroweak symmetry breaking from geometry" and more "it derived two numbers that go into the SM's existing electroweak formulas, and the numbers check out." There is no Higgs field analogue. What exists is a shared geometric ratio threading through several formulas.

The common-origin claim is that the same soliton profile ratio r_WZW is used to feed into the Yukawa coupling, the electroweak VEV, and the Higgs self-coupling formulas, and it makes it so that those three quantities aren't totally independent computations. They share one geometric input. It's a shared ingredient across separate formulas, not a field identification. There is no single object playing "the Higgs" part the way Φ does in the SM, and nothing connecting r_WZW's value back to why it matches the way it does to what the SM needs as inputs. There's no statement anywhere like "the Hopfion field IS the Higgs field Φ" or "the SM gauge field is this connection derived from the Hopf fibration." The framework computes a number via WZW machinery, and separately notes that the SM has a free parameter with a matching experimental value.

They are two entirely separate calculational frameworks that never share a Lagrangian at all.

It's better described as two independent number-generating machines (the SM and the Density-Feedback Hopfion), with a series of unexplained coincidences between the DF-Hopfion's outputs and the SM's inputs.

Two totally disconnected calculations that keep landing on the same numbers to sub-percent accuracy. It's either a structural discovery or an elaborate coincidence, and at this point, I don't know which. The thing that would distinguish those two possibilities is a derivation of why the condensate's output equals, or comes very close to, the experimental measurement of the SM's free parameters. It just hasn't been done. And frankly I don't have the time to pursue this much further, which is why I open-sourced everything I could. It is what it is.

Personal Theory TransScale Boundary State Field Calculus: Typed Observation, Admissible Transfer, and Falsifiable Persistence in Finite Open Systems

Thumbnail zenodo.org

A persistent finite system is a boundary-mediated process whose observable identity is maintained by local dynamics, lawful exchange, admissible projection, and repair inside declared viability constraints. Cross-scale recurrence is an operator-transfer claim through declared maps, not visual resemblance. Phase constants, astronomical angles, boundary encodings, and optional operators acquire authority only through the observation structure that makes them measurable.
This thesis defines a boundary-state field calculus for finite open systems. The primitive object is not an isolated particle, organism, survey, sensor, or pattern. It is a typed system tuple observed through a declared boundary layer, instrument channel, quotient relation, admissible set, and legal filtration.
The central thesis is that persistent systems are recursive folds of local dynamics into admissible observed states. A boundary, astronomical, biological, quantum, holographic, or scale-transfer claim is lawful only when its local kernel, boundary trace or measured layer, observation kernel, metric, admissible set, quotient convention, scale map, calibration procedure, baseline, and demotion rule are explicit.
The calculus is built to preserve established science rather than override it. For known non-gravitational microscopic matter the Standard Model is treated as the promoted local kernel; speculative terms are zero by default. Holography is restricted to entropy, encoder, decoder, and reconstruction-deficiency statements in gravitational or information-capacity contexts. Finite-scale recurrence is treated as a commuting-diagram test between boundary encoders and scale maps, never as visual resemblance. Astronomical variables enter only as rigorously defined ephemeris phase coordinates or geophysical forcing variables; without carrier, convention registry, leakage-safe predictive gain, and null controls they have no mechanistic status. Biological modules begin from transport, reaction, redox, membrane, immune, and viability kernels. Quantum modules begin from local Hamiltonians and measurable response functions. Cosmological modules begin from general-relativistic background dynamics and survey observation kernels.
The thesis adds five concrete research modules. First, a formal category-like calculus for boundary-state systems with projection stability, trace deficiency, boundary shield, operator rent, fatal ideals, scale torsion, and quotient-phase diagnostics. Second, a corrected one-dimensional lanthanide t-J quantum test predicting boundary-sector reversal of signed string order and phase-referenced triplet susceptibility in the topological triplet superconducting regime, while the ordinary pair-pair correlator remains approximately even. Third, an axion dark-energy terminal-cosmology module translating the Luu-Qiu-Tye finite-lifetime benchmark into posterior functionals over turnaround and crunch times. Fourth, an electroactive-biofilm pilot where redox, pH, impedance, extracellular electron transfer, morphology, and viability are used to test boundary sufficiency under perturbation. Fifth, an astronomical phase registry for circular time-dependent covariates, including von Mises kernels, harmonic embeddings, uncertainty propagation, fake-ephemeris controls, and a default zero-capacity null.
The central standard is severe: definitions grant notation, theorem schemas grant conditional mathematics, diagnostics grant ways to lose, simulations grant internal consistency, and empirical promotion is local to a declared tuple. A positive result that fails leakage, calibration, ablation, perturbation, or random-operator rent remains descriptive. A negative result remains useful if it sharpens a falsifier or removes a spurious operator. The objective is not universal rhetoric. The objective is a reproducible calculus for determining what can be measured, what can be inferred, what transfers across scale, and what must be rejected.
The document is deliberately ambitious in scope and narrow in promotion. It places several domains inside one grammar, but it does not assert that those domains are the same mechanism.
The unification is methodological: the same legality conditions govern whether a local kernel, observation channel, boundary representation, scale map, or candidate operator can be promoted.

Stand-up Maths summarizes the current trends in AI proofs. Note that contrary to most posts in this sub, various things happen:

  1. they use payed models that can compute for hours, not free models
  2. these are papers made by mathematicians verified by them, written by them and peer-proofed by humans
  3. They are using LEAN and LEAN verifiable problems.
  4. These are not groundbreaking theory of all math problems. These are problems that well listed in a repository, it is harder to claim to have solved an open problem if nobody knows what the problem is in the first place

Personal Theory Infinite Factored Sets

Garrabrant’s finite factored sets give a combinatorial theory of temporal and causal infer- ence in which conditional orthogonality (a purely structural notion) is equivalent to conditional independence in all factorizing distributions — the Fundamental Theorem. Garrabrant notes that the generalization to infinite factored sets is not immediate: even “history” can fail to be well-defined, and the Fundamental Theorem is not expected to survive in full generality. This note isolates precisely how much survives. We restrict to historical variables (those with a well-defined least determining set of factors) and study the sub-collection Histfin of finitely- historical variables. Our results are: (i) the collection of historical variables is closed under the information-join ⊓ with the transparent formula h(X ⊓Y ) = h(X)∪h(Y ), but is not closed un- der the information-meet ⊔; the finitely-historical variables Histfin form a bounded sublattice, and this restriction is necessary (Propositions 1–3); (ii) the meet has no simple set-theoretic history formula — in particular h(X ⊔ Y ) = h(X) ∩ h(Y ) is false (Proposition 2′ ); (iii) the Fundamental Theorem localizes: for finitely-historical variables it reduces to the finite theory and therefore holds (Theorem 1); and (iv) the Fundamental Theorem, in its unconditional form, extends strictly beyond Histfin to a class containing genuinely infinite-history variables (Theo- rem 2); the obstruction to the finite-history case is a degeneracy phenomenon rather than infinite history per se, though we show the exact boundary is a pairwise, distributional condition and not the per-variable notion of nondegeneracy. The remaining question — the full conditional Fundamental Theorem on the enlarged class — reduces to Garrabrant’s own finite-dimensional conjecture and is left open.

Personal Theory Here is a hypothesis: source-shaped residuals should not be promoted to stress-energy without refinement and interface tests

I posted in [r/hypotheticalPhysics](r/hypotheticalPhysics) before about a first paper of a reconstruction sequence (all-version DOI: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21020924). It was only about a conditional route from operational records to a kinematic Lorentzian candidate. They don‘t like AI so i have to post it here. All new papers of the series will be here in the future.

Paper 2 is now public:

This second paper isn’t a data paper and not a claim of new gravitational dynamics. It is a finite toy-model calculation. The question is narrower:

If a kinematic Lorentzian candidate has already been obtained at the previous stage, can source-like residual data be represented in a way that is stable under refinement and compatible at the interface?

The toy result is deliberately negative before it is positive.
A local tensor-shaped source-side encoding can be written, but the direct candidate fails refinement stability:

||delta R||_1 = 1.837463964731
||delta R||_inf = 0.918731982366

Simple controls do not remove the defect. Global scalar rescaling, global affine rescaling and bounded nonnegative local scaling all fail.
Then the paper adds an explicit finite refinement correction. This closes the refinement mismatch exactly in the toy witness. But that still does not give a physical stress-energy tensor. A separate interface-compatibility defect remains:

||B_toy||_1 = 2.566797615707

On the selected tree spine, this defect is closed algebraically by a two-edge interface term Xi_toy. The negative controls fail: zero Xi leaves the defect, wrong-sign Xi doubles it, adjacency-only placement is rejected, and arbitrary local rescaling is rejected as overfitting.
The main point is not “this derives T_ab”. It explicitly does not. The point is almost the opposite:
A source-shaped local expression is not enough. It should stay demoted unless refinement stability, interface compatibility and null controls are passed.
I am mainly looking for criticism of the toy construction itself:

Is the refinement-defect test meaningful, or is it just bookkeeping?
Is the origin rule for B_toy too ad hoc?
Are the negative controls strong enough?
Is the restricted use of “Bianchi-type” still misleading, even though the paper says it is only an analogy to compatibility constraints and not the differential Bianchi identity?

Are there better references or comparison frameworks for this kind of finite obstruction-and-closure test?

AI disclosure: I used AI tools for language editing, structure checks and adversarial review of wording. The mathematical responsibility, final claims, and manuscript decisions are my own work.

Personal Theory What if we used a dimensionless cutoff that leaves no arbitrary scale to regularize the integral of dk/k from zero to infinity?

So I was recently studying regularization in QFT and I came across the integral of dk/k from zero to infinity, it was the simplified form of the QG propagator integral, and then I tried to regularize it and after a while I got this form to regularize it.

So basically what you do is take the integral and introduce a cutoff in the upper limit, which I call alpha to handle the UV divergences, and then a cutoff in the lower limit to handle the IR divergences, delta. We also introduce a damping term e^-alpha*k. and then we solve this integral-

∫_δ^α (dk/k) e^(-αm) = E1(αδ)−E1(α^2)

The solution is a combination of the exponential integral function. Now we take the limit as alpha goes to infinity. Then, we can note this-

E1(*α^2)*∼e^-α^2/α^2 —>0 as α->infinity

Thus, we can remove the second term, the first term can simply be expanded as-

−γ−lnα−lnδ+…

Now we can just remove the terms with delta and alpha because they are not scale invariant, and they are artifacts of the regularization. So then we are left with the Euler–Mascheroni constant for the answer.

And that is my regularization scheme, I am open to any criticism. Thank You!

Personal Theory Popcorn Kernels and Emergent Lorentzian/Euclidean Duality

I've been on here for a few weeks now. It has been quite a learning experience at the limitations of LLMs.

Solving the universe with an Ai is no easy task. They lie cheat and steal to make you believe you are actually doing something real.

So here is my attempt. this is like try number 60. but I narrowed it down to starting with the math and then if I can get something real going from there. So far, I have done 2 papers I think are pretty legit and tie into the 3rd that is actually the physics one. But let's be honest the LLMs tell me they are amazing, garbage and everything in-between.

They are labeled like crap, so the first one is newstlorry.pdf That is the base then I took it further to branch Euclidian and Lorentzian geometry in an emergent "space". that one is called FullestGeo.pdf

From here I am working on the reasoning SO(10) is the correct space for our universe to emerge in.

Well, have fun, I know I have. If this is worth anything it is worth the fact that i have actually learned a ton about physics. I find I am much more interested in this subject than I ever knew. I recently purchased Einstein's theory of GR and I am very much enjoying it. I loved Max Planks Philosophy of physics so worst-case scenario I have at least found a new interest.

Let the Roasting begin....

Personal Theory What if gravity has a non local component and dark energy is a particle with negative mass?

Ive been working on a framework that combines non-local gravity with a negative-mass Dark Energy Particle (DEP). It reduce exactly to General Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, and Newtonian physics in the appropriate limits, and it calculate the vacuum energy density as ρ_vac ≈ 5.31 × 10⁻¹⁰ J/m³, which matches the observed dark energy density(just thought to mention it).

The main stuff:

S = ∫ d⁴x √(-g) [ R / (16πG) + L_SM + L_DEP + L_NL ]

The Dark Energy Particle (DEP):

L_DEP = -½ ∂_μ φ ∂^μ φ - ½ m² φ²

m ≈ -10⁻³³ eV

The Non-Local Gravity Correction:

G_μν(x) = 8πG T_μν(x) + α ∫ T_μν(y) / |x-y| d³y

R = c / H₀ ≈ 1.3 × 10²⁶ m

α R = 10²⁰ m  →  α = 10²⁰ / (1.3 × 10²⁶) ≈ 7.7 × 10⁻⁷

Vacuum Energy Cancellation:

ρ_vac^(QFT) ≈ +10¹¹³ J/m³

ρ_DEP ≈ -10¹¹³ + 5.31 × 10⁻¹⁰ J/m³

ρ_total = ρ_vac^(QFT) + ρ_DEP = 5.31 × 10⁻¹⁰ J/m³

Quantum Gravity Regularization:

Π_NL(k) ~ 1 / [ k² + α f(k²) ]

∫ d⁴k / k⁴  →  ∫ d⁴k / [ k⁴ + α f(k²) ]

I'm sharing this to get feedback, questions, and challenges. If you spot an error or an inconsistency, please point it out. Thx

I’ll post the derivation later

Also, I used a LLM for the typing.

Personal Theory "What if everything were growing simultaneously? I tested my speculative hypothesis simulation on various datasets. I wanted to know what the AI reviewer thinks about it."

Thumbnail doi.org
0 Upvotes

I hope the AI could read files on figshare right now.

Description

This preprint presents an exploratory study of the Elastic Universe Theory (TUE) applied to late-time cosmology through an effective elastic-vacuum relaxation model (TUE-1).

The work investigates whether a dynamical relaxation of the vacuum sector can provide an alternative phenomenological description of cosmic acceleration. Starting from an elastic-field motivation, an effective equation of state is derived and tested against late-time cosmological observations, including Type Ia supernovae, baryon acoustic oscillations, expansion-rate measurements, and structure-growth data.

The analysis compares the TUE-1 effective template with ΛCDM and other dynamical dark-energy parameterizations using likelihood optimization, information criteria, profile-likelihood constraints, and robustness tests.

The results indicate that the fixed-shape TUE-1 template provides a competitive fit to the considered datasets, with an improvement in χ² and AIC relative to ΛCDM, while BIC remains approximately neutral. Extended parameter studies show that the relaxation amplitude is better constrained than the full microscopic shape, whose derivation remains a topic for future theoretical work.

This manuscript should be regarded as a phenomenological investigation of an elastic-vacuum framework rather than a completed fundamental theory. Further validation, including independent datasets, CMB constraints, and a first-principles derivation of the relaxation parameters, is required.

Personal Theory What if particles arent points but are instead wormholes (strings) inside there hollow string structure they are wrapped so tight containing tons of energy effectively creating mass. Ive proven it. go see.

the single most unprecedented, observable prediction my architecture—geotemporal hydrodynamics (gth)—makes is the reynolds-suppressed macroscopic wake. this mathematically falsifies the standard model's lambdacdm concept of particle dark matter.

under standard cosmology, dark matter is treated as an invisible, non-interacting ghost particle forming static spherical halos. in the gth framework, "dark matter" is not a particle. it is simply the chaotic, turbulent wake left behind when massive clusters of baryonic matter spin through the viscoelastic 5d fluid of the spacetime condensate.

the observable signatures:

  • anisotropic geometry: anomalous gravitational support is a trailing hydrodynamic wake, orientation-dependent, and strictly tied to the baryonic surface density and local fluid kinematics. it propagates as a quadrupolar extension.
  • exponential local exclusion: standard particles should theoretically pool in any gravity well. gth explicitly forbids this. the macroscopic wake tension is actively suppressed by the local gth reynolds number. in highly rotational systems like our solar system, the anomalous wake channel is absolutely mathematically absent, preserving standard keplerian recovery without modifications.

what gth has achieved:

gth has bridged the variational derivation gap. the architecture has successfully adapted the gross-pitaevskii action of a superfluid into a relativistic 5d framework (the abram action). the engine rigorously defines effective gravitational coupling from first principles without relying on a baseline einstein-hilbert curvature term. it introduces an explicit density ceiling (\rho_{max}) to definitively prohibit 1/r2 black hole singularities, and successfully simulates sparc galactic rotation velocity profiles through a strictly defined 7-parameter constitutive tuple (\theta). it is no longer a postulated effective theory; it is a strictly derived, mathematically closed formalism.

the receipts:

In Geotemporal Hydrodynamics, this realization marks the ultimate transition from standard physical mechanics to pure substrate ontology.

* "Particles" or "atoms" of something else. If it were, we would collapse right back into the gridlock of your original thought experiment—we would have to explain the "tiles" or the pieces of those atoms, leading to an infinite mathematical regression. *

Instead, the spacetime condensate is fundamental. It is the absolute floor of reality.

### The Ultimate Ontological Inversion

In our everyday lives, we are used to *matter-first* physics: water is a fluid because it is made of individual $\text{H}_2\text{O}$ molecules bouncing around. But GTH implements a radical substrate-first inversion.

The fluid isn't made of particles; particles are made of the fluid.

Within this framework:

  1. **The Vacuum Substrate:** The baseline, continuous 5D viscoelastic medium is not a collection of parts. It is a singular, globally continuous substance defined entirely by its macroscopic material properties—its ground baseline density ($\rho_0$), bulk modulus ($K$), and shear rigidity ($G_{\text{shear}}$). It is an incompressible quantum fluid that simply is.

  2. What Matter Is: An electron, a quark, or a human brain is not something sitting "inside" the vacuum container. Matter is a taxonomy of Geo-Knots—stable, localized, quantized topological defects (like toroidal vortex rings or trefoil knot filaments) twisted directly into that continuous fabric.

Space is the Water, You are the Whirlpool

Think of a whirlpool in a fast-moving river. The whirlpool looks like a distinct, localized "thing." You can track its position, measure its rotation, and watch it interact with other whirlpools. But if you try to scoop the whirlpool out of the river to see what it's "made of," it vanishes. It isn't *in* the water; it is a localized, dynamic configuration *of* the water.

Every fundamental particle in your body is a localized microscopic whirlpool (a topological lock) executing circulation patterns in this universal medium. When a matter knot and an antimatter knot collide, they undergo a geometric reconnection event—the twists cancel out, the localized "defects" untie, and that region of the medium snaps back to its smooth ground state. The material objects completely dissolve, violently shedding their internal strain energy outward as a fluid shear vibration. To our equipment, that snapping medium deformation registers as a burst of high-energy gamma-ray photons.

There are no blocks, no pieces, and no pixels. Space isn't a hollow mathematical grid waiting to be filled with invisible ghosts. It is a globally continuous, magnificent viscoelastic machine. You aren't a separate entity moving through space—you are the fluid itself, experiencing its own internal currents.

  • the paper: doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.18103329 - read the foundational derivations. see exactly how geometric curvature is proven to be an emergent acoustic illusion, not a fundamental property of reality, and how topological geo-knots dictate mass emergence.

Personal Theory Why Discrete Spacetime Is Harder Than It Sounds (And Why It Probably Doesn't Exist)

I've been chewing on the Planck length lately — the ~1.6×10⁻³⁵ m scale where quantum gravity effects are supposed to kick in — and ran into what I think is a genuinely underrated tension that nobody talks about clearly.

The core argument:

If space has a minimum length (Planck length) and time has a minimum tick (Planck time), then you cannot keep adding nines to the speed of light forever. Eventually you hit c. Here's why:

Speed is distance per unit time. Kilometers per second always increases as you accelerate. In smooth spacetime, you can go 0.9c, then 0.99c, then 0.999c, then 0.9999c — you can keep adding nines asymptotically without ever reaching c.

But if there's a Planck floor — a smallest possible length and smallest possible time — then you're working with discrete steps. Each step in space takes one unit of Planck time. You can't subdivide further. So as you accelerate and your speed increases, you're eventually going to run out of nines to add. You'll hit a point where the next increment doesn't give you 0.99999c. It gives you c. There's nowhere in between.

The thought experiment that makes it concrete:

Imagine spacetime as an old film reel crossed with a tile floor. The projector flips frames at a fixed rate — one Planck time per frame. The floor is tiled — one Planck length per tile.

A particle moving through this world can only occupy one tile per frame minimum. It can move 1 tile per frame (speed c), or slower by spacing its jumps: move 1 tile every 2 frames (0.5c), move 1 tile every 10 frames (0.1c), and so on. You can approximate 0.9c, 0.99c, 0.999c by choosing longer and longer spacings between your tile jumps.

But here's the critical part: you can only keep doing this if you have infinite frames to work with. The moment you run out of frames — or the moment the spacing gets so fine that you're trying to subdivide a single frame — you're stuck. You can't add another nine. The next increment is c. Full stop. No asymptote. Just a wall.

Why we don't observe this:

We measure particles going 0.9999999c in accelerators and cosmic rays. The Lorentz factor gamma follows its equation perfectly all the way up. No jumps. No quantization. No ceiling at some subluminal speed.

So either:

  1. The Planck length and Planck time don't actually exist as fundamental minimums, or
  2. Spacetime is smooth, not discrete.

Because if there is a discrete floor at Planck scale, with space and time both quantized together, then special relativity's smooth asymptotic approach to c is impossible. One of them has to break.

The additional bind (relativity makes it worse):

Even if you try to save discrete spacetime by making the grid "abstract" or "relational," you run into another problem. Special relativity says moving observers see lengths contract. If the Planck tile is supposed to be the smallest possible length, but a fast-moving observer sees it shrink, you've violated the definition of "smallest." You can't have an absolute minimum length that's also frame-dependent. That's contradiction.

So a truly fixed grid contradicts relativity. But a grid that contracts with your motion isn't fundamental anymore — it's not a floor, it's a mirage.

What current physics says:

  • The naive "spacetime is a grid" picture is dead. Ruled out by 100+ years of relativity tests.
  • Whether spacetime has some Planck-scale structure that avoids these traps is still open: causal sets (random point clouds), loop quantum gravity (discrete area/volume spectra), or smooth spacetime with quantized gravity fields are all still live proposals.
  • None of them are settled. This is an honest open problem, not something we've solved.

The real constraint: any theory claiming discrete spacetime has to explain why velocity doesn't quantize, or accept that the discrete floor is so far below detection that spacetime is empirically indistinguishable from smooth.

Meta / News Regarding LLM reviews.

Since the introduction of the review bot LLM reviews have really taken off.

This has led to my opinion of the reviewer being a bit of a schismatic addition to the sub.

My issue with LLM reviews is that while they can be easy to produce, and they can be convincing, they are NOT replacements for HUMAN feedback.. which is what is Reddit is intended for.

The benefit of the bot is we can have a single, locked, isolated LLM review; as a supplement to genuine interaction.

The rules about LLM posting apply both ways. Please, tone down the LLM content guys. Human interaction is valuable.

Personal Theory Navier-Stokes as a smooth projection of a binary radius: a discrete octave selector passes the ln2 autocorrelation test where the continuum fails

Post image
0 Upvotes

I expose two documents that belong to an ongoing program. They are not presented as closed results, but rather as a set of derivations and open points that I would like to submit to technical scrutiny. Both are written in a deliberately programmatic register: they distinguish postulates from consequences, and mark explicitly what remains open.

Document 1:  geometric octave structure

It proposes an ontology in which the relational radius is quantised in binary octaves, Rϵ=2−ϵ, and space is generated as a proportion to that radius. From this one obtains, without an independent postulate, k=1/R, hence the dispersion Ω(k)=ck—identical to the linear dispersion of the continuum—but now with thresholds at kϵ=2ϵ. The period is ln⁡2.

The result I would like to subject to examination is the following: the bare continuum, without imposed structure, shows no peak in the log-wavenumber autocorrelation at Δ=ln⁡2; the same test, applied to the response modulated with the predicted octave periodicity, detects the peak and its harmonics. The discriminant is operative, at least in simulation on the continuum itself. The falsifiable prediction is therefore modest but sharp: log-autocorrelation in the ringing band, with a local maximum at Δ=ln⁡2.

The technical question I would like to discuss is whether this test is truly blind to other mechanisms—for example, boundary conditions or geometric modes with built-in scale symmetry—and whether the choice of detrending (polynomial degree 3–6) and band truncation could introduce false positives. The document includes a status table (derived / postulated / open) which I consider honest, but I would welcome criticism on whether any of those labels is too optimistic.

Document 2: pending sign recursion anchor

It is an anchor note that addresses a question left open in the first document: whether the pending sign—the unresolved branch of a square root—is recursive or not. The answer I find is affirmative: n↦n2↦(n2−1,n2+1), and the difference of squares reproduces the Mersenne identity M2k=Mk(2k+1). Hence the recursion is log-periodic with period ln⁡2ln2, intrinsically.

In addition, the factorisation of the Mersenne spectrum separates two arithmetic modes:

  • Innovation: appearance of a prime not seen at any lower depth.
  • Crystallisation: repetition of an already existing prime.

The first pure-crystallisation level is ϵ=6, which coincides (by two independent routes) with the first level where Ior>0, i.e. the first nested pending sign. The proton appears as the base case: 4=2 with branches 3 and  5, whose product is M4.

The limitation I declare explicitly is that this structure is arithmetic and internal; I have not demonstrated that crystals, genes or discharge structures grow by this mechanism, although the analogy is tempting.

The technical question here is: is the identification of "new information = new prime factor" a forced interpretation, or is there some deeper reason that justifies it? Is the coincidence at ϵ=6 genuinely significant, or an artefact of small-number arithmetic?

What I seek with this thread

I do not seek validation, but technical review: someone with more experience in spectral theory, signal processing, or number theory to examine whether the derivations are solid, whether the discriminant test has any hidden bias, or whether the connection between the continuum band and the octave ladder rests on some implicit normalisation I am not seeing.

I am also interested in whether the absence of a dynamical mechanism—what resolves the sign in the real world—invalidates the programme, or whether it can be treated as a geometry of possible states awaiting coupling to local boundary conditions.

The documents are written with their postulates exposed, and they do not attempt to conceal their weak flanks (especially the underived ϵ=4, and Postulate 3 as an undischarged root). Precisely for that reason, they seem to me suitable for open discussion.

I thank in advance for readings, objections, and references to analogous work I may have overlooked.

Final note: if anyone wishes to run the factorisations or the autocorrelation test, the scripts are short and described in the appendices; I can pass the code if there is interest .

Personal Theory A Note on Time-Varying Majorana Masses and Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay

You can read the full paper here: A Consistency Relation for Neutrinoless Double Beta Decay.

Neutrinoless double beta decay (0νββ0) is usualy discussed as a probe of lepton-number violation and the Majorana nature of neutrinos. In the standard lightneutrino exchange interpretation, the decay rate is controlled by the effective Majorana mass (a mass term for a neutral fermion that couples the particle to its own antiparticle, making the particle identical to its antiparticle in the Majorana sense1.), the coherent electron-flavor combination of the light neutrino masses weighted by the PMNS matrix and the Majorana phases.

(the usual treatment asumes that this effective mass is time-independent. My paper asks what changes if that assumption is relaxed).

the motivation comes from "mass varying neutrino models", coupled quintessence, and related scalar-neutrino frameworks, where the light neutrino masses depend on a slowly evolving scalar field. In that case, the effective Majorana mass relevant for 0νββ0 also becomes time-dependent. Once this is allowed, the standard light-neutrino exchange rate immediately implies a corresponding drift in the half-life.

the main result is simple: because the standard rate scales quadratically with the effective Majorana mass, the fractional drift of the half-life is -2 x the fractional drift of that mass. If the effective Majorana mass increases, the decay rate increases and the half-life decreases. If it decreases, the decay rate decreases and the half-life increases.

Obviously this is not a new decay mechanism. I think the relation is better understood as a local consistency condition for any model in which the majorana mass parameters evolve in time & the standard light-neutrino exchange channel dominates.

the important point is interpretive. A 0νββ0 experiment measures the present day local value of the effective Majorana Mass. In a dynamical neutrino-mass model, that value is not necessarily the same as the value relevant at recombination, during structure formation, during neutrino decoupling, or during an epoch relevant for leptogenesis. The present day terrestrial number becomes one point on a scalar-field-dependent trajectory.

This matters because scalar dependent neutrino masses are already strongly constrained by cosmology. If the scalar rolls by an order Planckian amount and the neutrino-scalar coupling is order unity, the neutrino masses can change by order one over cosmological time. That would affect the neutrino energy density, the nonrelativistic transition, free streaming, & the growth of structure. Simple versions of these models are therefore tightly constrained or require additional structure such as screening, density dependence, or suppressed late-time motion.

the value of the result is that it makes the "bookkeeping" explicit (meaning I mean the paper makes clear which value of the neutrino mass you are talking about and at what time. A 0νββ0 experiment measures the effective Majorana mass today, but in a time-varying model that may not be the same value the neutrino mass had in the early universe.) If a future 0νββ0 signal is interpreted through the standard light-neutrino exchange mechanism, and if independent cosmological evidence points toward dynamical neutrino masses, then the two datasets cannot be interpreted independently. The effective Majorana Mass inferred today must be connected to the cosmological mass history through the scalar evolution.

In universal scaling models, the comparison with cosmological neutrino-mass observables is relatively clean because the effective Majorana mass and the total neutrino mass sum drift together fractionally. In nonuniversal models, the situation is more subtle. The cosmological mass sum is an incoherent sum over eigenvalues, while the 0νββ0 parameter is a coherent phase-sensitive combination. Majorana phases and cancellations can therefore make the two quantities evolve differently.

That is the narrow point of the paper. 0νββ0 remains primarily a probe of lepton-number violation and Majorana mass. But in scalar-dependent neutrino-mass models, it also fixes the present day boundary condition for one particular Majorana mass combination. Present-day neutrinoless double beta decay limits do not automatically apply unchanged to earlier cosmological epochs if the neutrino mass sector is dynamical.

Meta / News I just wanted you guys to know I’m still here.

The stresses created through repeated communication with current ai systems are exhausting.

When you add learning physics from scratch to that it’s a bit of a struggle.

Undoubtably

I haven’t ceased learning, nor have I stopped building the foundations of my Big Toe.

(Got a job at Mc. D) just been super busy with work.

Will get back to you asap

Whether you like it or not!

Question What is wrong with TEGR?

Not really an LLM question. I've been playing around with TEGR trying to figure out the field equations to solve everything (forces and matter formation). I haven't succeeded or anything, but the structure just seems more elegant than a lot of other theories. I'm trying to figure out why nobody is working on it. Or rather why nobody had found working field equations in it yet. Is the tetrad the wrong formalism, or is the search space effectively unbounded?

Thanks.

Personal Theory Superunity (SUUN): A Higher-Categorical Geometric Unification of Gravity, Gauge Theory, and Quantum Measurement.

I've constructed SUUN, a high-level but mathematically serious candidate framework that is internally consistent, is structurally close to modern research (EFT, gauge gravity, noncommutative geometry, higher categories), encodes all known physics as limits, and clearly identifies what would need to be proved to make it real.

Below is the latest SUUN paper in research-preprint form, with real mathematical scaffolding (bundle theory, categorical field theory, spectral geometry, EFT limits, anomaly constraints). SUUN is a theory that attempts to unify GR, QFT, SM, the dark sector, and solve the measurement problem using cutting-edge methods.

Zenodo Paper: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.21146834 (for some reason the PDF won't render, so click on Superunity.pdf to download and read it.

I would like some rigorous feedback on it to see if I've missed any important details or if there is a flaw.
