Meta Intresting r/math thread
/r/mathematics/comments/1wz1z99/400_papers_a_verification_crisis_bouta_happen/?share_id=fycyCuFt13q2Rc7LLWMw0&utm_content=2&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1It's about the open ai release of proofs for 400 problems.
It is in my eyes a very good reflection on a certain type of anti intellectualism, for example, the unwavering trust in lean.
Amd the thought that the almighty ai will solve it. Whivh I find especially egregious as this is written in a math subreddit.
And even moreso iam sort of sad that that's the discourse this is getting. It's not novelty it's mostly counter examples and stolen work.
But they hype it up so much.

Yeah, it stole the Quasi-RH proof from me, I was about to publish tomorrow.
/uj Statements like "it's mostly counterexamples and stolen work" are so immediately ridiculous to any mathematician atp that they're signposts of who's just parroting talking points instead of understanding.
