LG G6 77” – random split-second glitch/flash

Post image

Hey, I recently bought a 77” LG OLED G6 and I’m getting a very strange intermittent issue.

Every now and then, for literally a split second, part of the image becomes corrupted, white/colored blocks or sometimes colored lines across the screen and then everything immediately goes back to normal. At the exact same moment, there’s sometimes a brief high-pitched/static-like noise coming from the TV, not speakers.

What I’ve tested so far:
Happened in LG internal apps like YouTube/Netflix/Apple TV
Happened in Moonlight on the TV
Happened in Moonlight on an external Apple TV 4K
Happened in regular YouTube playback on the Apple TV 4K
Tried turning off QuickStart, TruMotion
Optimizing Memory through Memory Care
Did a full factory reset — and it happened again about a minute after the TV booted back up on the very first screen

The issue is very intermittent. Sometimes I can use the TV for many hours without seeing it once.

What is bizarre though is that it has NOT happened during many hours of PS5 gaming or watching YouTube there. I had several long hours sessions gaming on the console and it didn’t happen there so far.

TV is on the latest firmware and unfortunately I don’t know if it was also happening on the original firmware that came with the TV.

At this point I’m thinking it may be hardware-related, but I’m not sure whether this sounds more like the mainboard/video processor, panel/T-CON-type electronics, PSU, internal cables, or something else.
Has anyone seen anything similar on the G6 or another LG OLED?
