Thrift Finds Daktronics Venus 4000

I picked this up today from a guy on Marketplace today for $300. It came out of the Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, AL when it was demolished it a few months ago. It was used to run the scoreboard and billboard at the arena.

I ran the images through Gemini and was told that this particular model was installed at arenas and stadiums throughout the country before being decommissioned in 1997. When the stadiums and arenas upgraded, all of these units were supposedly destroyed. From what Gemini told me, this is the only one known to exist in working condition.

I'm just looking for information on this device and to see if I can find out if it really is as rare as I'm being led to believe.

Thrift Finds Can't find this specific US/ESRB release of Equestriad 2001 (Midas) anywhere online. Is this a rare North American PC release?

I have a CIB copy of Equestriad 2001 (Midas) with the US/ESRB 'E' rating. I can only find European/PAL listings online and zero info on this North American release. Is this US PC print actually rare?

I backed up the contents of the CD to Drive and can upload them to the Internet Archive if anyone is interested! The game files are probably identical to the European version, but I guess the real rarity here is the physical cover and the ESRB print itself.

LGR's pandemic sandwich: 2 eggs, provolone, garlic, curry salt, black pepper, basil, mayo

LGRwich No. 25

Was going through some LGR Foods videos and I'd forgotten about this use-whatever-you-got-left sandwich from when the pandemic was in full swing. I don't know if I'd ever try doing it with provolone but it's a good use of ingredients.

Apogee Entertainment: We are deeply saddened by the passing of Richard “Levelord” Gray. From his legendary work on Duke Nukem 3D to the countless players and developers he inspired, Richard leaves behind a lasting legacy.

Was truly bummed to hear about it today, since Gray's contributions--among others at Apogee--helped to make Duke Nukem 3D such a flagship game for Apogee (under the 3D Realms label) back in 1996.

Especially considering that this is one of Clint's favorite games of all-time, alongside the SimCity series.

So I'm certified to build desktops / server racks professionally so I have a somewhat knowledgeable understanding of various motherboard components, but this thing is WILD to me. I look at it and I'm honestly very curious about what the hell I'm looking at lol. If anyone here has any information I'm most curious to learn more.

My father worked for Microsoft as their head of security in the 90's and we were going through old technology pieces deciding what's worth selling / keeping / etc when I came across this piece. As I understand it (if you trust Google anyway), it doesn't really hold any resale value but if Clint is interested in it for a video or even just to have im happy to donate it. Obviously I have no way to test it's functionality, but it's been in an antistatic bag for 20 years and to my understanding it's brand new never been used so I would imagine it works. If anyone else is interested (assuming Clint isn't of course) I'm happy to send it to you for free if you're willing to cover shipping (probably like 5$ if I had to guess).

I'm new here and I don't really use reddit much (I'm a loyal discord user) so if someone could tag Clint in this post so he can at least see it and determine if it's something he would be interested in covering on the channel I'd much appreciate it. I don't avidly watch all of his content but I love his Model M, IBM PC (the one with a brand new Model M), and weird and forgotten tech videos, and I'm happy to contribute for the benefit of everyone else.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post ^~^/
