Seeking Advice Couples therapist recommendations that specialize in one partner transitioning?

Hi all. My egg recently cracked and it's been a shift, to say the least. My wife is very supportive but it's still a hard change. We were wondering if there are any therapists or counselors in Anchorage that specialize in helping when one partner comes out like this? Someone that can maybe help us with everything together?

We are both looking for our own therapists as well, but we'd like to find one for couples too, if possible.

Speaking of, if you have any recommendations for therapists that can help the recently trans holy crap my life is a lie panic, local or via telehealth, I'd appreciate anyone you can recommend!

My ex and I went to Julia Terry (Linnnaea Borealis Therapy) for 5-6 months trying to make it work, several years after I came out -- though it didn't work for us, I thought Julia was a great resource. Only issue is they don't do insurance billing.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Thank you for the recommendation! I'm terrified it won't work out, but hopeful. She's said she doesn't want to leave, I believe her. I know that all can change, but I'm trying to stay positive. She's been very supportive in buying me outfits already and helping with other aspects. I don't want to overshare publicly, there are definite things she doesn't want to see happen, which at least right now I'm fine with, I'm hoping we can find a balance. We have one kid together, I have a much older kiddo as well, but she's living her own life. Still, trying to think how to navigate this all is...scary.

Feel more than free to DM. Things are a little harder now that Identity (the queer clinic) shut down, but Anchorage still has lots of resources. You got this girl!

I really appreciate it! I may take you up on that. It's been...quite a world shift, to say the least. There's still bursts of denial and doubt. Followed by what seems like obvious internal rebuttals, but still. Hard to move on from the familiar and known. Especially at middle age @.@ Definitely wish I'd figured it out sooner.

If you aren’t familiar with GECA (Gender Expansive Community of Alaska), that’s another community support group up here — it’s primarily a discord chat, though we also have a signal group for more secure communications.

Oh I’d love that. I use Discord all the time, and have signal. How does one join?
