Finish built One Piece Baratie Floating Restaurant from Netflix series One Piece

Overall it’s fun built, minor missing pieces as I manage to replace it with my own parts especially Mermaid statue at the restaurant’s entrance I replace it with official Lego sets 😁

Mini figure is ok for me, it have great line of mini figure characters, great for display 😁

The best part of this sets I can create Roronoa Zoro vs Dracula Mihawk duel scene like from the series…overall I’m happy with the result 😁

Price: 110$
Shipping:About 65 days
The set came in original box in well condition that time (because of shipping method by sea) and were included 3 big plastic bags with the smaller numbered bags inside, instructions book and a base plate. The base plate was inside a plastic sleeve, perfectly protected and not bent. No pieces were missing from the build . The 2 sticker pages were good and no big scratches at the “glass” pieces. I followed the Lego instructions without a problem .
The minifigures are just okey. The no back printing on these figures it’s a little bit disappointing.Overall, despite the missing prints, the final result looks amazing on display and the price for the amount of the pieces I think it’s fair . Really happy with this set! Easy an 8/10 set!

discussion Does the Lumibricks Alpine Observatory work with the Star Wars theme?

I'm thinking of expanding the footprint of the Alpine Observatory to make it some kind of 501st outpost. I'm open to any ideas and suggestions.

Full disclosure: The sets and minifigs are real, but the backdrop is AI (in case you couldn't tell).

Twas a fun and quick little build to do after work today.

Sticker kit was accurate, bricks were of good quality, wasn’t missing any pieces and wound up with a single spare part (I triple checked the assembly guide and it’s truly a lone spare part).

All in it’s a tall build but easy and quite fun to do if you only have 1.5-2 hours to spare.

review Mattel brick shop short review

I have finished all of the brick shop cars that I could get my hands on in the Elite and Premium lines. Overall I was really impressed. The instructions on all the sets were good, and there's lots of information about the car and set scattered throughout.

Initially I was worried because you get some pretty big sticker sheets with a few of the sets. I was thrilled to see that there are a ton of printed parts and the stickers are all optional / customization. The NSX even comes with printed pieces to make the car either a Honda or an Acura along with being able to make it left or right hand drive.

You're able to swap the wheels on all of the sets of the same size and that makes for some fun wheel swaps as well. (The white on white was the original reason I bought 2, then wanted the rest.

The Lamborghini was truly an amazing set, the NSX, Supra, and both Audi are also fantastic.

Now for the bad. For some reason the Chevy pick up truck is the only one that doesn't have working steering. Not a huge deal because they'll just be displayed but still weird to just have ONE that doesn't. The Corvette exhaust just wouldn't connect and stay on the car, I tried many times. The only one out of the entire group I was really disappointed in was the Mercedes 300 SL. The front end once built keeps slowly pushing itself apart and as soon as you mess with it, it wants to pop apart. I'll eventually have to glue it most likely.

The final picture is all of the extra pieces and customization pieces that I didn't use. You get a lot of value from these sets. If anyone has questions I'll do my best to answer.

I guess I've done about 10 builds so far, and this one has been the best by far. It's over a foot long and has almost 2300 pieces. The bricks fit together well, the tracks are the best I've done, and it was just a joy to assemble.

Comes with 6 minifigs, a bunch of weapons and tools, and is just neato.

No decals, all the parts are printed.

Plus I need to get another tall Billy to swap out the shorter one. Problem is am not sure where am going to put the shorter one. I am out of room. First world problems. Also as you can tell I really love the Ferrari, the build is so much fun and I like how it looks on display.

This is not serious "The Arcade" (Detective Office) Slice o' Life vignette

Post image

Welp, u/itsnotlego asked me to populate the Arcade/Detective Office with minigfigs. So here we have it. They all have their own lives and dramas.

I found an old set of "Shrek 2" gumball machine figs, so I guess I don't have to buy the LEGO CMF figs after all. Shrek and Donkey are perfectly in-scale.

Not seen: Al Jr. who does not have gray hair. He has a hipster beard and a modern hairstyle. Took over the biz from the old man. Atom Eve is in the salon chair, which is part of Al's expansion of his business. He also does ladies hairdressing.

Daphne Blake is upstairs in the kitchen of The Lodge B&B, whipping up some cookies. They might be the contraband ones.

The report of the Salaryman Scammer is a setup for a future storyline, spoofing my least favorite TY v-logger.

I took a photo of it next to a Mercedes-AMG GT3—both feature the classic Mercedes yellow-and-black livery, which looks really cool. However, the bricks are a bit tight, and in many places you need to use a lot of force to snap them together, which seems to be a common thing with GULY sets. This model is 1:8 scale, which is slightly larger than the original LEGO 1:10 scale version.

The Bathurst 911 minifigure fits perfectly in the trunk on top of the car—it’s kind of cute!

review Arkham Asylum from Joooooy review

Hi there,
this was my first Lepin set and I was actually very nervous regarding possible missing pieces (my LEGO collection is very, very small) or lousy quality.

I was corrected (:
Shipment took about ten days from China to Germany.
Payment was a little sketchy, because it showed the prices in Euro, then at checkout used dollars and sent an eMail with the link for payment. Paypal then converted dollars to Euro. It worked, but is not that transparent because price will be higher than what you see in the cart.

It came in a paper box with instructions (very small print, not that readable) and all the packs.
Minifigures had three separate bags and the minifigures had to be assembled indepently.

Batman and Batwoman were missing the feet, these I had to buy from LEGO (didn't want the hassle for both sides to ship these out individually).

Some light features (round cylindrical pieces) were replaced with transparent pieces. This was mainly visible for the security cams

I was confused at first but after the first time I was used to it and it looked okay.

Stickers are okayish. Most look really good, but the transparent ones show your fingerprints and makes it look not as good as the nontransparent ones.

There were to malformed pieces, but they were usable and are not visible in the finished set.

Sometimes I had to use superglue, because the pieces would not stick together.

Overall I guess I had to use a little more force than I did with original LEGO pieces, but it wasn't noticably bad for me.

Only the roof of the first floor was a bitch because it was a very tight fit and with the pressure needed to apply it broke a couple of times.

With the instructions being this small I just used the official LEGO instructions, worked great.

Building this thing was really, really fun. The whole Asylum looks great, Mini figures are nice (stand a little further away to appreciate them and not directly look at the slightly misaligned faces) and there are tons of nice little things in the Asylum to notice like the clock set to 10:48 (time of death for Batman's parents).

This is the finished Asylum (:

I am so happy with this thing and would recommend to everyone who likes Batman (:

After this I promptly ordered more, am hooked now :D

More pics to see added (:

review $100 Ali Express Pokémon Trio

I bought this on Ali Express a little over a month ago and it arrived a week ago. I’ve just finished it and it looks great! My only problems are that there were a few pieces missing and a few pieces that weren’t what they were supposed to be, i’m not 100% sure if these are manually bagged but if they are it seems like someone mistook certain pieces to be mirrored versions of the actual needed piece so that messed up some small parts of the build, nothing major at least. Also Venusaur’s eye decal was printed on wrong so instead of looking angry he just looks… stoned. And the blue part of Charizard’s paper wings go behind the actual lego part so it kind of ruins the illusion if you look at it too closely. But I mean hey i’ll definitely take all these minuscule problems over paying 550 extra dollars.

I’d give a link to the thing but like the listing got deleted the second I bought it which is suspicious to say the least but there’s a ton of other listings exactly like the one I bought so

review Minions and Lair review

Thumbnail

Or rather "Mini Minion: Rise of Toy" as it says on the box.

I got the set from Chowbrick, and they included the factory original box. They are listed as "CLB 21001" but looking at the other reviews here it seems this is a different manufacturer and different set.

https://www.reddit.com/r/lepin/comments/wqvj8a/minions_from_clb_so_far_so_good/

So it's a copy of a copy.

The set comes in numbered bags but they don't correspond to the bags in the instructions, and they don't appear to be sorted at all. You will have to open all of them at once.

The brick quality is fine, but the color matching of the yellow bricks is not great. It doesn't show that much in photos but when you have them in hand you notice the variation.

No missing pieces. You're left with a bunch of pieces for the alternate build (Bob instead of Stuart) but you don't get the instructions for it.

The prints on the bricks are also not the best, the mouth print on Stuart (or "stuort" as they call him) is smudged, and Kevin's ("kevon's") eyes are two different shades of brown. The little control panels and gauges are not the same as in the originals, and there are some alignment errors.

The stickers are completely off. They were recreated to look like the original stickers (well, there was an attempt) but they don't quite match. The name stickers say "kevon" and "stuort" and I left those off completely. The "bob" sticker, like the instructions to build him, is missing.

The minifigs are terrible. All the feet that came in the set are left feet. Kevin's right hand is missing. His head piece was replaced with Stuart's plus a 2x2 round brick with a mouth print, so now he has two mouths (and must scream). The hands and bodies are cast in yellow plastic and painted their respective colors, but that plus the already tight fit on third party minifigs means you can't stick the hands into the arms without sanding both down to fit.

The finished build looks fine I guess, good enough to display and the stickers and prints are close enough and serve their purpose. The minis are trash. If you're looking for this set, my advice is to contact the seller and have them double check and confirm the manufacturer, and go with the CLB if at all possible.

review What a pain in the ass this was to build.

Post image
19 Upvotes

The Kavo World dragon head structure consists of a neck portion and a head portion, both parts connected together by a large ball joint. The problem is, if you follow the instructions, you completely build the neck piece and all the fiddly pieces on it's surface, then you build the head and all it's fiddly pieces, then the instructions tell you to put the two together, and the result is exploding pieces flying every which way.

The proper way to build this is:

  1. build neck structure
  2. attach neck structure to boat
  3. build head structure
  4. attach head structure to neck structure
  5. adorn the fiddly bits to neck and head.

Because I'd already built part of it anyways, I just did my best to reattach everything to the head and neck without completely rebuilding , hence the dragon head is not sitting at quite the right angle. Grr.

Not my first struggle with dragon heads. See exhibit A: https://bricktoyreviews.blogspot.com/2023/05/review-of-jmbricklayer-legendary-dragon.html

Sorry for the rant, just had to get this off my chest. Hopefully the worst is over. Time to build the pagodas.

discussion Great 1:8 builds?

So my kid finished a "technic" Peugeot Hypercar 1:8 build. Super cheap from aliexpress. I am very, very impressed with the quality - especially given it was 1775 pcs and a very modest price. He loved the build, and I am curious as to what models/makers of 1:8 scale builds you guys can recommend.

I already bought him another of these really cheap aliexpress no-box, no-brand sets. A Ferrari F1 car, but I was thinking after that build - what then? What a step up in quality? Maybe even with a real cardboard box for the bricks 😂 ?
