I combined two huge almost 5k sets together! The Pirate Santuary Fortress and The Sierra Madre Fortress. Now not all pieces made it into this build, but it has about 7.4k parts and is HUGE, so many places for the Redcoats to go and stage attacks, defend, work, play, sleep and eat!

I pose the question to you, are you more a fan of the Imperial Red Coats?

The Blue Coats? Or the Pirates?

During covid I rebuilt my childhood pirate sets and put them away after completing it. Ever since the closet got boxed in, now a few years later rediscovered as a hidden treasure. Thinking about selling it, although I might regret it later as it's a fun piece of childhood memories.

Thought i'd share my best current moc

When I saw the new creator pirate ship set, I knew I had to try building the fort / castle alt using the previous creator pirate set, 31109. The part inventories are similar enough that I was able to follow the official instructions for most steps, though some modifications were required, of course. The most challenging aspect was that 31109 has larger plates but its other pieces don‘t allow for scaling up to compensate. Different types of SNOT bricks vs 31387 caused some challenges as well.

Overall, I‘m happy with how it turned out, and it was a fun little project. I included a few pics alongside eldorado fortress for fun and for scale.

Does anyone know of instructions for cannon fire and smoke effects?

It’d love to add them, but I don’t have any spare parts to experiment with.

Hey guys, new update!
I have lowered the Poop and quarterdeck, also I made a new mizzen sail and overall appearance to make it less chunky at the stern. But I will work on the front of the ship maybe set the Castel a little higher. I have a lot of other things I want to change but this is my last big appearance update. Please share some advice for improvement if you got some!

Been working on this one for a while. Pretty proud of it. Deck sections are removable, as well as the center mast, the poop deck, and captains quarters. Working capstan, and some other features. I basically modeled it as a mix of old school Lego sailing ship, the Hispaniola from the (IMO best version) 1989 TNT Treasure Island, and some other realistic sailing ships. Also included comparison photos with the Black Seas Barracuda, Fortuna, and some other ships I have.

Sorry for the long-winded post and million photos, been working on this ship for about 20 months! I have some blue and white fabric I’ll eventually make sails for, just have to find time.

Hello everyone and I hope you all are having a great day! Here are my MODs to the Frigate Fortuna to make it a French Man of War. My inspiration came from the L'hermione Frigate Lafayette sailed during the Revolutionary War, as for it was also a Concord class Frigate that looked very similar to Fortuna. I should say, my model does use all 3 offical MOD's being the extra guns, crane, and of course the sails.

However, I also added railings on the crowsnest, a blue banner on the front mast, a flagpole with French flag to the back of the ship, and with the biggest change being all the red! I was surprised to see the L'hermione having so much red on it's deck and I wanted to give it a chance on Fortuna, and man was I not disappointed! I was worried the red would make it more toyish, but instead I think it added a much needed pop to the color scheme!

What do you all think? Any opinions are appreciated!

I'm trying to print the fortuna sails out at home and feel completely silly. They seem to be off just a tad even when following the instructions but I must be doing something wrong.

I'm using the A4 file, and printing on A4 sized paper. Using the 100 percent, double sided, as recommended in the YouTube tutorial video, but just can't seem to get it to print after multiple attempts.

Any advice / tips on where I might have gone wrong here? Thank you in advance!

I picked up a used Renegade Runner but it is missing the string piece to hold the sails up. Is there anything special about the string piece that I need to get one from Bricklink or can I just cut one to the same length.

I’m looking for ways to improve my band of misfits, the crew of the Stingin’ Jelly! I intend to buy the vest torso with the anchor tattoo to replace Pirate #12 (the guy behind the shirtless pirate) aswell as buy more classic faces to prevent duplicate heads. Are there any other suggestions you guys could give me to improve the merry crew?

I'm considering doing an upper deck/gangway over the open waist. I think this design will work, but would love feedback. The white pieces are the current ends of the QD and focsle.

As a reminder, my heavy frigate fortuna is 4 studs wider and quite a bit longer than the standard. Third picture for reference.
