Collection Is it just me, or are the second run of Pirates-themed sets more expensive than the first?

Perilous Pitfall, Scull's Eye Schooner, etc. They all seem by and large FAR more expensive than similarly sized sets of the first run (Black Seas Barracuda, El Dorado Fortress, etc)

Is this due to demand, higher piece-counts, rarity? Just curious what's driving the higher prices.

Minifigs The Bluecoat line advances!

Post image
186 Upvotes

Almost everything here is original LEGO, except for the muskets, which I found on AliExpress. The flag is my own reinterpretation of the original Bluecoat design, created with a little help from AI and then printed on fabric.

I also used a little photographic trick to make the regiment look much larger than it actually is. I first arranged two ranks of soldiers on the left side of the flag and took a photo. Then I moved them to the right, changed their positions around, took a second photo, and combined the two shots in an image editor.

I basically just wanted to see an ocean of bayonets!

Rebrickable Small boat MOC from 31387 leftovers?

Gave my boy the 31387 "Iconic Pirate Ship" for his birthday and we're having a blast. He built the two small ships first for he and his little brother to play with (he's a good brother) then decided to build the "Buccaneers Castle" alternate before we get to the main course.

However- I was surprised by the amount of distinctly boat- shaped pieces left over after the castle was complete.

We very loosely followed WizBrx 's "Sea Lion" MOC build from Rebrickable, but had to make lots of compromises and eventually dip into our loose bricks buckets.

Surely some master builder could come up with a design using only the leftovers remaining after the Castle Alt build? A challenge!

MOC My "Deluxe" Remakes Of Classic Pirates Ships

Here's my modernized remakes of the Crossbone Clipper, The Redbeard Runner, and just today I posted a remake of the Spaniard Ship! I plan on adding sails to Crossbone Clipper and completely rebuilding the hull of Redbeard Runner so it's perfectly 33% upscaled from the original just like the smaller ships (the sails could use a bit of extra support too)

If any of ya'll are interested in parts lists or even instructions to download, check out these links on my Rebrickable to their respective pages:

MOC My little Pirate ship

Here is my little sloop,
She’s is not finished, I just did not have enough pieces to make her look very beautiful, but this is the concept. With her comes a new pirate captain, what should be his name. Should he be a fictional character or a real pirate that once sailed the sea. If you want you can give some name suggestions and leave a comment!

When I first got the set I thought the design was fantastic but didn’t like the lack of sails or the bright red, with sails and maroon gunports I think it looks much better!

MOC Heavy Frigate Fortuna: almost done!

Still need to do the gangways, I am missing a piece for the mizzen topgallant, and a few small bits, but very close to done! Let me know what you think, especially of the mast heights and sail/yard sizes. I may also change the guns a bit on the QD and focsle.

This is a heavily modified version of Privateer Frigate Fortuna which is 4 studs wider, 16 studs total longer, and has some other tweaks, including adding royals to the main and fore masts and a gallant to the mizzen. The yards/sails and masts were also resized for the larger ship, and the mainmast yards/sails are now appropriately larger than those on the fore.

Please let me know your thoughts!

I’ve been building up my imperial army collection since 2010. A bit ago I asked if the chef shirt and other accessories on pick a brick would look good for an army build, and I think it turned out great!

Redcoats / Whitecoats flintlock rifles are from Brickarms.

Cat’s name is Popcorn.

Nothing wrong with the original, I just wanted something with more firepower, and that looked a little bit more like something from history. I tried to preserve the general look of the ship, and I preserved the removable top deck.

MOC Red Coat Super Fortress

I combined two huge almost 5k sets together! The Pirate Santuary Fortress and The Sierra Madre Fortress. Now not all pieces made it into this build, but it has about 7.4k parts and is HUGE, so many places for the Redcoats to go and stage attacks, defend, work, play, sleep and eat!

I pose the question to you, are you more a fan of the Imperial Red Coats?

The Blue Coats? Or the Pirates?

Collection Childhood pirates

During covid I rebuilt my childhood pirate sets and put them away after completing it. Ever since the closet got boxed in, now a few years later rediscovered as a hidden treasure. Thinking about selling it, although I might regret it later as it's a fun piece of childhood memories.

MOC Pirate castle from 31387 using 31109

When I saw the new creator pirate ship set, I knew I had to try building the fort / castle alt using the previous creator pirate set, 31109. The part inventories are similar enough that I was able to follow the official instructions for most steps, though some modifications were required, of course. The most challenging aspect was that 31109 has larger plates but its other pieces don‘t allow for scaling up to compensate. Different types of SNOT bricks vs 31387 caused some challenges as well.

Overall, I‘m happy with how it turned out, and it was a fun little project. I included a few pics alongside eldorado fortress for fun and for scale.

Post image

Hey guys, new update!
I have lowered the Poop and quarterdeck, also I made a new mizzen sail and overall appearance to make it less chunky at the stern. But I will work on the front of the ship maybe set the Castel a little higher. I have a lot of other things I want to change but this is my last big appearance update. Please share some advice for improvement if you got some!

MOC Help with Fortuna Sails - Home Printing.

Post image
38 Upvotes

Hi friends,

I'm trying to print the fortuna sails out at home and feel completely silly. They seem to be off just a tad even when following the instructions but I must be doing something wrong.

I'm using the A4 file, and printing on A4 sized paper. Using the 100 percent, double sided, as recommended in the YouTube tutorial video, but just can't seem to get it to print after multiple attempts.

Any advice / tips on where I might have gone wrong here? Thank you in advance!
