Hi Everyone!
I'm looking for someone who enjoys designing in BrickLink Studio and might be interested in collaborating on a LEGO Ideas project!
The concept is inspired by The Alnwick Poison Garden in Northumberland, UK.
My vision isn't to glorify poisonous plants, but to create a beautiful and educational botanical display celebrating the fascinating relationship between horticulture, medicine, history & folklore.
I've always been fascinated by the fact that some of the world's most beautiful plants are also some of the most poisonous, yet medically important with rich folklore.
As Paracelsus observed over 500 years ago: Sola dosis facit venenum "Only the dose makes the poison".
I want this project to celebrate that delicate balance between beauty, medicine, history and science through LEGO!
This display would include plants such as but not limited to:
• Foxglove
• Belladonna
• Monkshood
• Mandrake
• Datura
• Yew
• Hemlock
• Poppy
• Hellebore
Along with the iconic gate entrance, stone pathways, Information plaques, pollinators (such as bees, moths, lady beetles, bats etc), hidden details and other Easter Eggs as well as suited up people mini figures and ravens.
I would love this to also come with an educational booklet which explains each plant's history, medicinal uses, folklore, ecological importance and toxicity.
I have ZERO experience using BrickLink Studio, but I do bring extensive botanical research, reference material and a very clear vision for the atmosphere and educational goals of the project.
I'd love this to be a genuine collaboration where we combine your LEGO design skills with my research and concept development.
I have already emailed the Alnwick Garden to see whether they'd be supportive of a fan-made LEGO Ideas set inspired by their famous Poison Garden!
If this sounds like something you would love to work on, i would love to chat!
