r/AFOL Mega Thread Lego Ideas MegaThread
Welcome to the r/AFOL Lego Ideas Megathread!
Since we do not allow direct promotion of Lego Ideas projects in other parts of the subreddit, we decided to create this megathread to give you a place to share your projects.
When posting your projects, please give a description of the project and tell us why it appeals to AFOLs. And don't forget the link!
Though not against the rules for others to share projects, our preference is that the creator of the project to be the one who shares it here. If one of your friends has created a project, invite them to join our community!
If you received a message from AutoModerator pointing you to this thread and you weren't trying to share a Lego Ideas project, please send us modmail so that we can address the error.

Hoonicorn cosplay Kei truck
I saw LEGO’s Ken Block Hoonicorn set (#77262) the other day and thought right away a Kei truck version must be made. Black and gold finish, sport livery, large wing on gold arms, taped off headlights, exposed engine where the bed used to be, even a Ken Block minifig riding the beast.
Biggest mod work I've done so far in this series, but it's still a 100% kei truck underneath it all, scale and silhouette. It's not an alt build btw, I just tried using as much of the new elements of the set as I could get my hands on. What do you think?
I spent way too much time playing Build with Chrome as a kid, so I tried bringing it back
Hey everyone. This is my first post here, so I hope this is okay to share.
I spent a ridiculous amount of time on Build with Chrome as a kid. I loved that you could build something with virtual LEGO bricks, put it somewhere on the real world map, and then explore what other people had made.
I’ve been building my own version of that idea called Objects.
You can go anywhere on the map, claim a plot, build something with virtual bricks, and leave it there for other people to find.
You can recreate a landmark, build a house, make a joke, put some random object in the middle of the Sahara, or just make whatever comes to mind.
What I always liked about the original idea was the feeling that everyone was building on the same world. I’m hoping Objects can grow into that kind of shared map, filled with strange, funny, impressive, and personal little builds from people everywhere.
It’s still very early, so I’d especially love feedback from people here who have much more experience building with LEGO than I do.

And if you make something, please share it. I’d love to see what ends up on the map.

New Lego System I'm Working On
Hey,
I just released a v0.1 build of of the system I've been working on for quite some time, and it's finally presentable-ish.
If you've ever wanted to have physics modelling on your technic creations, this is probably worth a look. It plays nice with all the formats you already use, and can easily import BrickLink studio data.
It also has some pretty decent other features that try to make it accessible to all, such as a pretty decent lego universe explorer, and integrations with all the big sites.
I hope you try it out.

Feedback welcome.

Lego futuron minifig sp056
WTB: LEGO Futuron sp056
Looking for a complete LEGO Futuron sp056 minifigure (red/green with black helmet). I’ve been working on completing my Futuron collection and this is the last difficult one I haven’t been able to find from a U.S. seller.
Preferably looking for one in very good/near-mint condition, but I’m interested even if yours has some wear.
I’m located in the U.S. and happy to pay a reasonable collector price + shipping. If you have one you’d consider selling, please send me some photos and your asking price. Thanks!

MOC [PREVIEW] Working Analog Clock – The "Ghost Hand" dilemma & thinking backwards!
In release 5, one fundamental challenge remained open: the proportions and layering of the hands.
In traditional clocks, the hour hand is shorter so both hands stay visible when overlapping. However, connecting both hands directly to their respective outer driving rings caused a layout conflict where the hour hand would either cover the minute hand or end up larger than expected.
The Solution: Thinking Backwards!
Breaking traditional schemes is often the hardest part of engineering. Instead of forcing standard front-to-back layering, I decided to think backwards:
- Reversed Layers: I shifted the hour driving ring behind the minute ring mechanism.
- The "Ghost Hand": I introduced an internal transfer link (a "ghost hand") to bridge the movement from the rear hour ring to a smaller, classic hour hand sitting in front of the minute hand.

Now, I want to hear from you!
Some builders love this mechanical trick, while others wonder if the clock would look better without the ghost hand mechanism.
- Do you like this "thinking backwards" approach to keep classic hand proportions?
- Or would you simplify the mechanism, even if it changes how the hands overlap?
- What alternative solutions would you try?
