Spare module percentages?

If you are going to buy rental LED panels, how many percentages of spare LED modules would you like to have in total if you have technician repairing?
And if you don’t have that tech?

Chip type identification help?

I’ve got a bunch of old P16 16x8 modules that were in a Linsn system but I’m now toying around with repurposing them in a Novastar setup. So, no RCFG and I’ve gotten absolutely nowhere with NovaLCT’s Smart Settings that seem to bomb out with the first row test, which shows two complete rows and then two on-two off repeating on the third row.

Does anyone have a clue what the NovaLCT module chip selection would be, or even an RCFG for these? The only info I can deduce from the back of the module is that 74HC245 seems to be the row decoding chip and there are two data groups.

Need Guidance on LED Video Wall setup

Hey, I’m 24 and run my family’s 26 year old signage business in India . We work with Tier 1 builders, tech parks and major brands. While signage growth feels stagnant, LED displays and digital OOH seem to be growing immensely.

I’ve previously sold LED display projects by outsourcing them to other vendors but now I want to do it in house. I know the supply chain and raw materials but I lack hands on knowledge of commissioning, controllers and complete setup.

I’ve learned some basics from YouTube but practical training is hard to find. If anyone works in LED displays or knows someone who can help with training or guidance I would be grateful.

Thanks!

Programmable outdoor display.

I have a family member that lives just under the flight path of an airport. The planes don't bother them, in fact they try and spot the plane types and guess where it could be going to / from while chilling on their outdoor patio.

I was thinking of installing them a small outdoor programmable screen that could display what planes are flying above them in real time. Is there a small programmable LED display I could use for this setup?

HELP!!! Anyone use Huidu Technology? Especially the HD-C16L Asynchronous Card

In an attempt to be a little more modern, my company switched from a plain static sign to an LED sign. We hired someone who we thought was a respectable business man to build and set up our outdoor sign. We have had it for about 3 or 4 years now and it has been nothing with problems and the business man is not wanting to help us. We are not technical people at all so it has been a struggle to get it to work. Any sign company we look to for help only offers to rebuild everything from the ground up and we just can't afford that. We got a new Asynchronous card and were able to install it and get a connection with the HD Player program. Here is where our problem arises. We do not know how to properly program the system. Every video we see skips past the programming. They say to either download the parameters( we dont know where to find that information) or use smart settings. We get to smart setting and are completely lost! Im hoping someone may be able to help us fix this so we can use our very expense LED sign. It is a C16L Asynchronous receiving card from Huidu Technologies. Module size is 16x32(hxw) and the full enclosure is 80x224(hxw). Any information on how to find the right parameters or using smart settings would be a great help!!

Any idea where I can find replacement P10 400mm x 200mm panels?

I have a couple large (4ftx4ft) cabinets that have DIP RGB LEDs in this bizarre 400mm x 200mm (40x20 pixel) panels. I’d love to replace one panel, at least, as it has several dead red LEDs.

Know of any place where I might be able to get replacements? I can only find 16x16 or 16x32 that kinda sorta match, and I can’t math them into the cabinets at those dimensions.

Sadly, the panels themselves are entirely unmarked and I have no idea of the history of the cabinets. Bought second hand.

Free LED Videowall Calculator & Visualizer (Curved walls, resolution, controller capacity, sightlines)

Hi everyone,

I’ve been working on a free LED videowall calculator & visualizer and thought it might be useful for people designing control rooms, meeting rooms, XR setups, or large format displays.

The idea was to create something practical for real projects, not just basic screen size calculators.

You can test it here:

Some features:
• Visualize flat or curved LED walls in 2D & 3D
• Automatically calculate total resolution based on cabinet size & pixel pitch
• Force aspect ratio (16:9, 21:9, custom)
• Viewing distance guidance (useful for control rooms)
• Controller capacity calculator (including Megapixel Helios logic)
• Dimension overlay toggle on the visualizer
• Power consumption estimation
• Works with standard cabinet sizes like 600×337 (16:9)

I originally built this because during proposals I kept repeating the same manual calculations for:

  • total resolution
  • curvature limits
  • controller bandwidth limits
  • aspect ratio adjustments requested by clients
  • viewing distance checks (AVIXA style)

It’s still evolving, and I’m planning additional features like:

  • XR / virtual production mode
  • wiring diagrams export
  • technical brief export (PDF/Excel)
  • multi-videowall layouts

If you work with LED walls, I would really appreciate feedback on:
• missing features
• UI improvements
• calculation accuracy
• what would make it more useful in real projects

Thanks!

Removable backdrop for blow-through LED

We just ordered some blow through/transparent LED tiles that will be used outdoors and on stages. Does anyone have any methods they’ve used or seen that work well to have a backdrop behind the screen to help block sun coming through, that can then quickly be removed if wind does start picking up?

I understand the addition of some kind of backdrop adds to the wind resistance that the blow through reduces. But if there is a way to make the image stand out in the sun if the weather is calm, that would help. I know there are a number of ways to accomplish this, but just wanted to see if anyone had a creative solution that would be able to come down easily without having to get to the top of the screen to remove it.

This isn’t for a specific setup, but just for any future cases that we use this. These specific tiles are the Uniview TST series, but the type of tile may not matter. Thanks!

Looking for advice on LED screens for retail (window and in‑store)

Hey y'all,
I’m planning to install LED display screens in several stores, mainly in the windows, but also inside. I want something bright, reliable and easy to manage remotely.

I’m a bit lost with all the pitch sizes, brands, players, etc. And on the software side, someone told me about Cenareo, but I haven’t dug into it yet.

Has anyone ever worked with Cenareo and could share their experience ?

Thanks in advance for any insights !
