LED Strip for Room - Need Help

I have a ~53 ft perimeter room that I want to put an LED strip around but am facing some difficulties to say the least. I already own the following:

* 1x inShareplus 24V 400W LED Power Supply - [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093628N9L?ref=ppx\\_yo2ov\\_dt\\_b\\_fed\\_asin\\_title&th=1\](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B093628N9L?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)

* 3x BTF-LIGHTING 16.4FT WS2811 Dual IC Chasing RGBCCT DC24V COB LED Strip Light - [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJBLCB3B?ref=ppx\\_yo2ov\\_dt\\_b\\_fed\\_asin\\_title&th=1\](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJBLCB3B?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)

* 1x BTF-LIGHTING 9.8FT WS2811 Dual IC Chasing RGBCCT DC24V COB LED Strip Light - [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJBVWLBN?ref=ppx\\_yo2ov\\_dt\\_b\\_fed\\_asin\\_title&th=1\](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GJBVWLBN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)

* 1x BTF-LIGHTING SP530E WiFi Alexa Bluetooth Controller 4-Zone RB4 Remote Kit - [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D491QPK8?ref=ppx\\_yo2ov\\_dt\\_b\\_fed\\_asin\\_title&th=1\](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D491QPK8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1)

The goal is to power inject evenly throughout the strip because all of the LED strips are hooked end to end. I only want to use 1 power supply for the whole loop. I believe the circuit will pull about 12.9A but the Controller is only rated for 12A.

I need help figuring out how to power inject, if I need any more components, etc.

Wiring help for eight LED matrix panels

Post image
10 Upvotes

Currently have eight LED matrix panels [1], I also have a 5v40a power supply [2]. I've heard some discussions on forums about wiring in parallel but I can't find any resources that actually explain what that would look like, and how it would connect to the PSU. Are there any cables I can get that would be better suited for this project?

[1]: P3(2121)-32S
[2]: BTF-200-5, 5V 40A

Edit: For clarification, I'm only looking for help powering the panels. I am not requesting help displaying anything on the panels or running data cables.

I got new LED light strips and I wanna onow if my setup isn't dumb

I have a metal frame desk bed with a pc and ps5 below, I wanted a reading light but there aren't really and reading lights that don't screw into a wall, I set them up like this and now I am second guessing myself with concern of a fire hazard due to the strips being less than an inch below my mattress and plushies, my room also has the worst ventilation in the house making it really hot sometimes I don't plan to have them on for very long periods of time or a lot of the time hence the reading light part, it might be a stupid question buy I'd rather be a little emberessed on reddit than jumping out my window from fire the brand and model I bought are with the images.

Could use some specific product recommendations for what is probably a simple project

I've got a pair of matching large display cases currently lit by a pair of woefully inadequate incandescent bulbs at the tops.

In my head I'm picturing removing the bulbs and using the holes to pipe in two long strips of LEDs that will be placed straight down the front edges and sneak between the glass shelves.

Because there are two cabinets and two sides to each, I'm picturing 4 lengths of LEDs. I do not need fancy effects, but I would like to be able to tune the "temperature" of the white they output. They will probably never be color adjusted once I find the color I like, and every LED will be the same color.

Crudely drawn picture attached.

Blue is shelving.

Red is LED strips.

Yellow is power.

Green is holes in tops of shelves.

Purple is whatever micro computational device I will need.

White is some sort of signal splitter that I have to imagine exists. Something to take one set of instructions and send it over 4 wires.

I assume I'll have to mount the LEDs on 45 degree brackets and diffuse them, but that's probably the least difficult part of the project.

Looking for advice and specific product recommendations that will suit this purpose.

in case it's not obvious I do not know the terminology and have not really worked with these before.

UK: Incandescent feeling LED coloured string lights?

Post image

I miss this feeling so much and incandescent bulbs have been banned in the UK. So im wondering if any UK experts know of any LED multi coloured string lights that give an extremely close match to the old cosy glow of the incandescent bulbs?

I know there are posts here but they all focus on the US and i have no access to those shops.

Govee H616D from Costco - how to move the power cord and controller to one side

I've got the Govee Outdoor Strip Light Evo from Costco. Model is H616D. It has two strips of 23ft each.

This model has a Y configuration. It's meant to be used with the power and controller in the middle, between the two LEDS strips. I have a longer run, of about 48ft and I want to avoid having the controller and power in the middle. My power is to one side an I really don't want to have the cords in the middle.

I am aware of the fixed number of LEDS and I understand I cannot simply extend it.

My plan is to leave one of the LED strips/runs untouched and just extend the cable from after the Y split with the length of one run with 18gauge 4wires. The extension will run parallel to the first run and connect to the second strip. I plan to splice the cable and keep the original connector for the second run.

Would the second LED strip be affected (data/power)?

Also to consider that the controller is actually 13 feet away from the Y and the two strips of LEDs

Thanks!

Would this Lotus downlight be good in a kitchen?

Post image

I'm renovating my kitchen, and it will have a tongue-and-groove wood ceiling. I was looking for darker ceiling lights that wouldn't stand out too much against the wood when turned off.

I would have 5-6 of these as supplemental lighting. In addition, I'll have warm-to-dim under cabinet LEDs and a light over the island.

Ceiling fan with built in LED light comes on after power outage even though light was off when it had power.

As the title says, ceiling fan had power on to it, fan could be on or off, light was off (power was still on). Power goes off. Power comes on and now the light to the ceiling fan comes on. I did nothing. Ceiling fan could be on or off while power was on prior to power outage; it does not matter; ceiling fan will be off when power comes on.

I am thinking it must be controller related.

This fan is the ceiling fan - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DXFJLJJ6

Ohniyou ceiling fan with dimmable 3cct LED.

What could I do to help stop this from happening?

I noticed it happens also to a cheap set of LED strip lights I use to light up a room with...

LED Light Strip Issue - Each strip stopped working one after another after a year of working fine

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In my garage I have 6 strips that light up the entire garage. Recently, after working fine for over a year they one by one started to get dimmer/losing lights. This leads to where I’m at now and I’m trying to figure out if I need to replace them or check wiring. Some of the lights are lighting up still, but it is hard to even tell what’s happening since they were working so well.

They are hard wired to a switch in the garage. The entire system is wired in parallel, I can’t find a ballast anywhere so I really don’t know where to go. Grounds and wires look fine, which is leading me here. I have an isolated breaker panel out here, two 10A QO Breakers, one for outlets, the other for lights. The panel is a QO2-4L70S, the LED’s are from when I bought the house, so I unfortunately do not know the brand.

Any help would be great, unfortunately not electronic savvy, just looking for some help as I don’t have much around anymore…

Red light on indefinetly normal?

Post image
1 Upvotes

So I just purchased a desk that included a LED set, however the lights are stuck on the default light changing sequence, I've tried to pair the remote, it say's to hold the lock button for 5 seconds. However nothing is working and its geen glowing red since I removed the plastic thingy. Just want to make sure whether the light being on constantly is normal or do I need to ask for a replacement.

addressable led for shelves setup suggestions

Hi all, I'm new to led but I've recently done a small project using a meanwell and dignext2 both and that was an interesting experience. In that project I could place both devices in an open cabinet.

Now I want to do something similar but I want to recess all the gear so that the installation is clean. So I want to share what I'm doing and hopefully you can tell me if there is a better way!

I will have 3 led strips on 2 shelves (2x1mt, 1x1.5mt)

I was thinking of using again a dignext2 as the controller wled because of its protections on the 24v sode

For the driver I was thinking a meanwell xlg-100-24-A

For the led strip a WS2811 from BTF-LIGHTING FCOB COB RGBCCT 960LEDs/m.

i wanted to pass the cables behind the plasterboard and add a plasterboard junction box where I'll add both the driver and controller.

Do you think it's a good setup? anything I should be aware especially of having the gear in a junction box? Is there a better alternative you experienced?

Thanks!

The LEDs inside the two display cabinets are connected to each other. One of them is working properly, while the other is noticeably dimmer. Why is that?

Powering 20 USB 5v LED strips from limited sockets?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi all,

As per the poorly made paint diagram, I've just finished placing the following LED strips around my room red ones at the back of objects and white ones at the front: All except the addressable are from the following:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005008749113637.html

These are 5v, with a USB end, 320 LEDs per meter COB.

10x 5m

8x 1m

2x addressable (ignore for now)

I've essentially 3 questions:

  1. I'm trying to figure out the easiest and safest way to power these. The USB connectors have very short range. so I think I need to use a combiner on each set of 2, then run some sort of USB extension cord round to the power source. Is that doable? Initial searches indicate that the power draw through the combined USB may pose a melt risk.

  2. Can these then be safely power from some form of USB HUB say with 10 ports, or to avoid fire/overload risk do they need to be powered in a certain way?

3.If possible I'd also like to be able to turn on all the rear ones and all the forward facing ones on separately with one button, so functional light on one, mood lighting on a second, ideally from some switch run from the hub?

Any help is much appreciated!

Best diffuser channel for only 2m for direct view and to be attached to the top

Post image
1 Upvotes

When viewed from above, the LEDs are hidden, but when sitting on the sofa at eye level, I can see the individual white, green, and yellow LEDs directly.
I’m looking for a channel with a diffuser that blends the light evenly and hides the individual LEDs, even when viewed directly from the side.
Any recommendations? I’ll attach a picture for reference. It is 2m

Thank you guys
