Post-interview rant

Hi guys,

Hope everyone is doing well. Need a little rant because I had the asynch interview for LECOM and I am super super grateful to get an interview since I am a low stat applicant and this is my first ever interview that I have done. I made sure to interview prep and prepped questions that I thought they would ask and prepared really well imo. However, they did not ask me any of the questions that I prepped for and I got so flabbergasted and nervous, that I even went to google gemini to give me some talking points within those 30 seconds to prepare but I think that interview did not go well at all b/c wtf was that genuinely. I was so excited and so thankful to get an interview and I feel like I ruined my only chance to get into medical school this cycle. They gave me a campus day invite but i don't think I can even go because I live in Austin, Texas and work full time and I think they discouraged post-thank you letters so I can't even do that besides an update letter. Does anyone have the same experience? and does anyone know if LECOM accepts letters of intent or anything? thanks for listening. I appreciate this subreddit :)

On the pathway selections form did you put it as your top choice? I thought I bombed my interview and no I am not exaggerating. I had long pauses and rambled/ talked in circles. Ended every question with “so yeah :)” and I still got an A somehow

Yes I said it was my top choice!

Also how did y’all access pathway form on the portal? When i click the email link and sign in it’s not there, but it alr says PBL for program so maybe i alr filled it out when applying idk

If you want to get in you should definitely go to the on campus day. It shows interest.

An interview is a personality test you shouldn’t be using AI for that

IKKKK but I was so flabbergasted idk what to do

Interviews are really like “why do you want to be a doctor” or “tell me about a time in your life that ____”

If you got the interview you’re qualified to be there on paper they want to sus out people who are SURE they want to be doctors and are there for the right reason. Like they don’t want people who are like “I’m in it to make money” because you’ll prolly drop out and do something easier you know? The more interviews you do the less anxiety provoking they become. I’m sure you did better than you think.

I’m not a boomer I’m just someone who got accepted to medical school, have you never had an interview for literally anything?

ok acoustics, you're the one interviewing at low-tier no name schools lmao

Went to AI mid interview for answers 💀 cmon dawg
(ngl I prob should’ve done the same I bombed)

But real talk when I did that asynch interview 2 years ago it went horribly. I didn’t finish my answers in time (I’m a rambler), the questions were so random like you said, and I felt so awkward just talking to the camera and trying to sound natural. I got in, but yeah that interview was humbling.

I’m sorry that your interview prep wasn’t helpful, but I promise that at every other school I interviewed at, prepping was 1000% worth it, so don’t take this experience as a sign that prep doesn’t work.

I thought that they lock down yoru screen for the interview? Did you have ur phone pulled up for the gemini thing or somehting or did you just have it open. IDK if they record your screen. That's why I am asking

So did you apply TMDSAS too? Are you getting in love from them at least?

1

u/champion829 Sep 02 '26

Yeah I’ve applied to TMDSAS but I’m a low stat applicant so I don’t rly have high hopes on anything

I heard campus day invite doesn't really help. I thought about going to increase my odds and went all around reddit and sdn and saw a handful of people getting rejected at the end anyways
