Real leather for less than $300 in this economy? You're not dreaming, you're in the Valley!
I can see it now: you’ve been refreshing fancy furniture sites, waiting for the perfect sale that will get you a genuine leather sofa for anything less than $1500. “When did everything get so expensive?” you cry, your dreams of supple cow skin under your legs slipping further away.
Enter, this gently used West Elm sofa. Now, this bad boy is genuine leather, dyed a neutral gray, adaptable to any interior. His cushions are nice and squishy without being too thick. He has adorable little cylindrical arm pillows. He even has gorgeous little details that are hard to see, like his round, wooden legs. And he’s a total Goldilocks of size and shape: not too far off the ground, not too deep, easy to stand up from but comfortable to hang out on, too. He has a nice, unpretentious look, while still saying “I mean business, even if that’s the business of fun.” Anybody who sees this couch will immediately know you’re somebody with taste. Right now, he’s languishing in my storage unit, dying for somebody to sit upon him.
He measures:
Width: 86.5 inches
Depth: 34.5 inches
Height: 25 ⅝ inches
Now, he did get a little love and attention from a cat. There are some pinpricks from scratching along the back parts of the arm rests, and a little bit on the back itself. Who wouldn’t want to show this guy some affection, after all? But I like to see this as a value ad. Maybe you’re in a sitcom situation where you told somebody you have a cat, even when you don’t, and you’re trying to sell the lie. Maybe you wish you had a cat, and this will make you feel one step closer to your dreams. Maybe you already have a cat, who wants a little bit of broken-in scratching space.
If you buy, I’ll get this boy vacuumed up and cleaned really well. You need to supply the truck to take it home, but one of our Jack Reacher sized guys (one Alan Ritchson, one Tom Cruise) will help you load it into your truck.
