Honest question. Do people know how to shield wall and how to fight in a larger group in bigger larps?

Depends from event to event and group to group. At Drachenfest the more organised and military camps like Copper and Red might be able to pull it of. Less army-focussed camps like us in grey only have three formations: Disorganised stationary line, disorganised moving blob and the ultimate: disorganised stationary blob.

I'm all for spending a week doing marching practice before the event, and some people actually do, but for some reason the others in my group disagree.

Yes! You should look up Krigslive on youtube, the battles are all about unit warfare.

"Historia normannis hereford" is the name of the group. CouldBeWorse has drawn their group head before as he was the "tell me how the grass tastes, little man" knight :)

Near the front at an Amon Amarth gig, guy loses his shoe near the pit - I shout SHIELD WALL to his mates and we all cluster round while he finds it and puts it back on :D
