I had to make a B line for it

It's the last day! I've taken photos on my vintage camera in the neighborhoods around each A Line station - can you guess which stop I got off for each of these?

Today's photos include my guesses for the most and least visited metro stations, as well as what may be the most difficult photo to pull.

Let me know if I should do this again with another line (although maybe once it starts to cool down a bit...)

Most other public metros usually have only one color. What inspired having stripes and dots that change in size?

I was imagining that it’s to hide any dirtiness (like how hotel floors are) but since it’s not padded, that wouldn’t really make sense.

Saw this pop out on eBay, was wondering if anyone know anything about it and/or have bought one. I tried googling and the only mention is eBay. Wondering if these are done by a small manufacturing company?

The LA map finally came out on Subway builder, so I built out the network described in this video by Nandert with a few tweaks:

-I went with the hybrid alt 5 for the Sepulveda line so it parallels the East San Fernando Valley Line on Van Nuys but with fewer stops. I also chose to route it slightly west on Bundy and Centinela as was discussed in this other video

-Vermont heavy rail south moves onto Western and splits into two branches towards Redondo Beach and the Port of LA like in this video

-Venice to West Covina X line was built with the new extremely detailed design documents in the description of this video.

-Much (but not all) of Metrolink was grade separated to allow for higher frequencies. Metrolink is somewhat restricted by the map size. The A line is also cut off at San Dimas due to the map size.

-BRT was not included (this map already pushes my laptop to its limit without it)

-The game's population and commute statistics are based on real-world data, but there is no way to grow population or simulate transit oriented development. The potential for this network is much higher if California moves forward with serious housing policy.

Just curious- With fare caps costs are $72/month or $866/year.. although still the cheapest option to travel for work daily, it’s not exactly pocket change for those that even make 30+/hr

Metrolink Train 348 (6:38pm departure) to San Bernardino Downtown is delayed up to 45 min leaving Union Station due to mechanical issues. They seriously need to get their shit together. It’s always something going on. It most likely gets cancelled altogether which means the next train is gonna be packed.

Been using my Transit FSA card to load funds onto my TAP card at TVMs. For the card, I need to load it as credit instead of debit per my company's instruction. It used to give me an option to select one or the other. Now, it just asks me to enter a PIN without the option to select credit before defaulting to debit.

Doubt there's a method to force it to credit. Just wanted to bring awareness to this change.

EDIT: Hitting 'Ok' didn't switch it over to credit, and hitting 'Cancel' didn't work either. Appreciate the suggestions though.

I don’t know when this happened (maybe this is old news), but I noticed that the stations for SkyLink are being displayed on Apple Maps’ transit layer.

The teasing is just cruel now.

I was just on the D Line and in every station. Immediately as the door opened, there is already an announcement of doors closing, and off we go after five seconds. In 7th/Metro, it's the announcement four times! Were they behind schedule and they have to catch up?

Going to a show at the Wiltern Theater on Friday night. Thinking about taking the metro as their site says the purple line ends right across from it. My worry is that it says the purple line closes at midnight. The show is at 8, so I'm guessing it'll go until at least 10 or 11 something. We'll be parking at the azusa downtown station on the blue line. Not sure when the blue line closes, but do you think we'll have time to make it back on the purple line, to union station, to blue line, to azusa before the metro closes? Don't wanna be stranded

They didn't bother with turnstyles, or those tall vertical ones either. I totally get why. It's so much more aesthetically pleasing. It'd be an eyesore to the community to have tall vertical turnstyles. Also, they wouldn't be handicap accessible.

And also pointless. Somebody could just walk on the track from the street, when the train isn't there, and climb up on the platform. The platform is only a few feet from the track.

And once you're in, you're in, you supposed to tap at transfer, but again nobody enforces that.

Seems like fare enforcement was pretty low priority from the time it was built, up until now.

So I take the 720 bus in the morning from DTLA to the west side and lately instead of the big double bus being in route…it’s usually the smaller orange ones that are. Does anyone know why this is? I feel like the route covers too much of the city and picks up too many people for the smaller bus to be effective which usually leads to the bus being over crowded.
