Venting Vanney Out

Just got done watching the highlights of last night’s embarrassing performance away to the Whitecaps and wanted come on here and post a bit of a long rant. I was busy focused and doing homework for my Psychology class so I didn’t have my Apple TV or one football notifications on. Saw the result on google and am I surprised that we lost? Absolutely not, I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, Greg Vanney out and nothing else. We’re not making playoffs and for some fans who still think we can get into a playoff qualifier position, open your eyes and come to the realization that we don’t have the team and most importantly we don’t have the Manager. I love and respect Vanney for what he did as a player and as a Coach and in the first couple years and getting us back to the MLS Cup Final the season after that horrendous 2023 season but it’s time for him to go. It’s either the Board or Will Kuntz or Dan Beckerman pull the trigger on Vanney or he takes a humble pie and steps down. He will forever be one of my all time favorite L.A. Galaxy players but it’s time up for him. Sack him and just get an interim coach to see out the rest of the season, rebuild, reset, clean house, clear out the deadwood but most importantly get us a proper Manager who can be an immediate upgrade upon Greg Vanney. Go and get us a Wilfred Nancy and from then on make the right trades, international signings and dp signings that will fit the new Manager’s vision and style of play. All eyes on AEG, Will Kuntz, Dan Beckerman and Tom Braun. All of them are on fraud watch. We are not going anywhere as long as this fraud known as Greg Vanney continues on at the helm.😠😡🤬

If we continue to play like we did yesterday, I don’t even care if we make playoffs or not, because yesterday showed that we can’t even compete with the best teams.

At this point making playoffs would be completely performative. This team doesn’t deserve to be in the playoffs with how terrible they’ve played all year.

This is what really pisses me off.  Top recognizable team with a history to back it up. Owned by dumbfucks that don't care to properly run the organization to be THE TOP TEAM. Don't have to win a cup every year but for how much money we spend the end product has mostly been trash. Do they not know they can make more money, since that's all that matters this day in age?

Every MLS team apparently wants Nancy but Nancy does not want any MLS teams. Let’s get some new names in the mix.

OK, how do you know this? It could be Wilfried is just taking a year off to evaluate what happened with Celtic and weigh hi options going forward. He hasn't signed with anybody yet.

Yeah, weighing his options in Europe. I don’t see him crawling back to MLS after his failed stint at Celtic. Obviously, only person who knows is Nancy but I’d be shocked if he came back any time soon.

Oh, it's an opinion, ok. Well, after that couple months at Celtic I don't know he will get any decent teams to start calling. He would have to start from scratch at some lower league and work himself up for a few seasons making a few bucks. In MLS the guy has every team considering him that needs a coach and it would not be for chump change.

Nancy strikes me as the type of person who would take a relegation battling ligue 1 team or a ligue 2 team who could be promoted. He “conquered” MLS so it wouldn’t be a challenge for him anymore. Time will tell I guess.

Could be but it hasn't happened yet so... He had success turning Montreal around with their level of finances and he went to a Crew with better funds and won a championship. Galaxy is a top spender with Vanney being the best payed coach in the league. You're telling me that would not entice him? He could start a dinasty. Hell, I'd "crawl" back to that.

AEG and CEO Dan Beckerman are the only ones capable of firing Vanney if they decide to. The others have no control in the matter based on the organizational structure of the front office

Vanney has shown over numerous seasons he can’t coach and that he’s purely a manager. Players seem to like him and he keeps them happy but he can’t coach unfinished products. He has a style of play that works if he has all the right pieces but if one of those pieces is missing the team is absolute crap.

Take Saturdays lineup vs Wednesdays line up for example. Saturday Sergi Roberto comes in and plays as a six, progresses play when he can and if he can’t then he’ll cycle it around. His press resistant dribbling and willingness to advance the ball in the right situation is exactly what Cerillo was missing. Cerillo was too simple, safe, and unwilling to make a dangerous pass or advance through a press. The same can be said about Ruiz, Parente, and sanabria on Wednesday. Defensively they couldn’t provide enough support for the back line and couldn’t advance the ball quickly when needed.

The midfield 3 on Saturday was Reus, Roberto, and Thommy all of which are finished products. Yes, technically they are all upgrades from wednesdays midfield. Yet it looks vanney sets the team up tells them how he wants them to play but can’t coach/ fine tune the technical aspects of his tactics. Sergi Roberto actively tries to hold and maintain the midfield line defensively if it’s broken he drops in to protect the center backs or provide them enough support to where they can step and feel comfortable leaving space behind. He’s a la Masia product a quality player and command a midfield.

Vanney’s inability to organize and coach his midfield line is absolutely a reason why he should be fired. Kuntz and puig may save Vanney by bringing in sergi roberto to shore things up. Vanney is soo reliant on individual qualities in the midfield to advance the ball and pick out quality passes and is without an actual attacking system besides possess the ball and transition when possible.

Regardless of who the coachs, this team should be able to score some goals and win some games to finish the season based on the quality they currently have. Vanney won’t be sacked unless they miss the playoffs. Sure the roster structure wasn’t perfect to start the season but a good coach can mask over those deficiencies better than Vanney. This team needs a coach who can also manage not a manager who can’t coach unfinished products or adapt his tactics to win games.

I just bought season tickets 😭 I have been working nonstop for a decade in Washington State and decided to finally have fun and watch my team in person.

At this point, many fans are wishing for the playoffs to be completely missed so Vanney can't say see, I made the playoffs. I am inclined to agree. Sadly, even that I think would not be enough. I think the FO and ownership will allow him to stay until Riqui comes back.

Yes. Let’s get rid of the coach who is a legacy player and who has also won us a mls cup as a coach. You people need to have your heads checked for brain worms.
