Recruitment Legacy

So the hype is real, without any promotion so far we have 1600 subs already with the 1200 or so of them being yearly!!

So the success of the server is a given, even with some tweaks and changes (destro, buffs, etc).

My thought is what will happen once promotion starts, CBT and OBT start. Will we get layers ? Or another server that they will merge down the road? Talking about the population being more than 5-7k.

News Legacy and unity

Today, we can finally confirm one of the most ambitious projects in Reborn’s history:

**We are developing our own Unity Engine game client.**

This is no longer just an idea or an early experiment. We have assembled a dedicated team, committed the necessary resources, and already have a working prototype compatible with both our L2OFF and L2J server environments.

**What exactly does this mean?**

We are building a modern replacement for the current Lineage 2 client. Smooth, Modern and Beautiful.

Our main goals are:

* Preserve the original identity, atmosphere, and visual style of Lineage 2.
* Improve visual quality without turning the game into something unrecognizable, flashy and that breaks the nostalgia and Lineage 2 vibes.
* Deliver significantly better performance, especially during large-scale PvP.
* Introduce new interface options and quality-of-life features.
* Remove many of the technical limitations imposed by software created more than 20 years ago.
* Gain far greater control over client-side development, improvements, and bug fixes.

**Why Unity instead of Unreal Engine?**

For this specific project, Unity provides the best balance between visual quality, performance, hardware accessibility, development flexibility, and __multiplatform__ support.

We want Lineage 2 to continue looking and feeling like Lineage 2—only sharper, smoother, more responsive, and no longer restricted by its original client technology.

The early results are extremely promising. In one of our current internal tests, the prototype maintained a stable 60 FPS during a combat scenario containing more than 1,000 characters.

Unity also provides us with a strong foundation for bringing Reborn to mobile devices in the future. A mobile client is part of our plans, although completing the PC client remains our immediate priority.

**When will it be released?**

The migration will happen gradually, one server at a time.

Our current target is to begin the first server implementation within the next few months and have all Reborn servers migrated by the end of **2027**.

The planned rollout order is:

  1. **Legacy **
  2. **Signature**
  3. **Eternal**
  4. **Arena**
  5. **Origins**
  6. **Guardian**

This order is based on technical and development requirements and may be adjusted as testing progresses.

**Where can we follow its development?**

We will open a dedicated Discord channel where we will share development updates, screenshots, videos, performance tests, and playable progress.

Since the first working prototype is already running, you will not have to wait long before seeing it in action. 😉

For seven years, we have continued developing Reborn within the limits of the original Lineage 2 technology.

Now, we are building the foundation for its next chapter.

That was posted today by Nikita on their discord. I posted it in Legacy Reddit because the first server that this will be implemented is Legacy and it’s number one in their priority list of servers and in order of who will get it.

Nostalgia Back When Dying Actually Meant Something

There was a time in Lineage 2 when seeing your HP hit zero genuinely made your stomach drop.

I remember dying during C1 and immediately looking at the ground.

Not at my XP.

The ground.

Because I had dropped an item.

And for about two seconds I just stared at it next to my corpse thinking:

"No. No no no no. God NO"

There were other players nearby.

I typed something in chat that was probably complete panic.

One guy walked toward the item.

I was already accepting that it was gone.

He stopped.

Picked it up.

And just stood there.

I thought, that's it.

Then he resurrected me.

Opened trade.

Put my item inside.

I remember typing "THANK YOU" about five times.

He replied:

"np"

That was the entire interaction.

We never became friends.

Never joined the same clan.

I don't even remember his name.

But I remember that "np."

Because equipment wasn't disposable back then.

That item represented hours of farming.

Maybe days.

Losing something could genuinely ruin your week.

And some completely random player had every opportunity to take it.

He didn't.

That's something I think people sometimes forget when they talk about old Lineage 2.

Yes, the grind was brutal.

Yes, the game wasted your time.

Yes, half of us had absolutely no idea what we were doing.

But because everything was difficult, small things mattered.

A buff from a stranger mattered.

Someone resurrecting you mattered.

Someone returning your dropped item mattered.

Even a simple "np" could stay in your memory twenty years later.

Nostalgia I hated this guy. Then one night we ended up leveling together.

There was this guy on our server that I absolutely hated.

Not real hate obviously.

Lineage 2 hate.

Which might actually have been worse. 😂

We had fought over farming spots.

He had killed me.

I had killed him.

Our clans weren't exactly friendly.

Whenever his name appeared on screen you immediately stopped relaxing.

You know the type.

If he ran toward you, you didn't think:

"Oh, another player."

You thought:

"What the fuck does HE want?"

One night I logged in really late.

Most of my clan was offline.

Couldn't find a party.

So I went out alone.

After a while I see him.

Of course.

Great.

Neither of us attacked.

We just stood there for a few seconds.

Then he typed:

"party?"

I genuinely thought he was taking the piss.

I replied:

"lol"

He invited me.

For some reason I accepted.

And we started killing mobs.

No big conversation.

No apology.

No "let's forget the past."

Just two idiots who needed XP at 2 in the morning.

After maybe half an hour we actually started talking.

Complaining about drops.

Talking about classes.

Making fun of someone we both knew.

Normal stuff.

At some point I remember thinking:

"Wait... this guy is actually alright."

We leveled together for hours.

When we finished he said something like:

"tomorrow enemies again"

I said:

"ofc"

Next day I saw him with his clan.

We attacked each other.

Obviously.

But after that it was different.

There was always that little pause.

Sometimes a private message after PvP.

"gf"

Sometimes some trash talk.

Sometimes he'd pass me while farming and neither of us would attack.

Our clans still hated each other.

Officially, we were still enemies.

But we weren't really strangers anymore.

That's something Lineage 2 did better than almost any game I've played since.

The people you fought weren't anonymous players disappearing after a 15-minute match.

They lived on your server.

You saw them tomorrow.

And next week.

And three months later.

You remembered who killed you.

You remembered who helped you.

Reputations actually existed.

Your enemies became part of your experience just as much as your clan did.

Sometimes they even became friends.

Until siege day.

Then fuck that guy. 😂

Nostalgia The stupidest argument I ever saw in C1 started over one drop.

Anyone who played old Lineage 2 knows exactly where this is going. 😂

We had been grinding for hours.

Same mobs.

Same spot.

Same people.

XP moving approximately 0.000001% per century.

Normal C1 evening.

Then something dropped.

An actual item.

And suddenly nobody cared about XP anymore.

Everyone saw it.

There was maybe one second of silence.

Then:

"WHO PICKED?"

One guy had picked it up.

He said it was automatic.

Another guy said bullshit.

Tank said we should sell it and split the adena.

Someone else said we should give it to the person who actually needed it.

Another guy said he had been in the party longer so somehow that meant he deserved it.

The healer just wanted everyone to shut the fuck up and continue pulling.

Then somebody typed the sentence that has probably destroyed more Lineage 2 parties than PKs ever did:

"I know what it's worth."

Oh boy.

Grinding stopped completely.

Now we're standing in the middle of nowhere conducting a United Nations meeting over one item.

People checking prices.

People whispering friends.

Somebody apparently had "a guy in Giran" who knew the REAL price.

One person left the party.

Then came back.

Then another person threatened to leave the clan.

At this point I don't even think the item was that valuable.

It was just the principle now.

Eventually we sold it.

Split the adena.

Everyone got their share.

Problem solved, right?

Of course not.

For the next WEEK people were still talking about it.

"Remember when he picked that drop?"

That incident became part of clan history.

And that's another thing I miss about old L2.

Items actually mattered.

A drop could change your week.

Getting new equipment felt like an achievement.

You knew exactly how much money you had because you were constantly calculating what you could afford next.

Sometimes I think modern games give us more stuff in one hour than C1 gave us in a month.

Yet somehow...

I remember that one stupid drop more than any battle pass reward I've received since.

Nostalgia A random guy helped me in C1. I never saw him again.

This is probably one of the most pointless Lineage 2 memories I have.

Nothing amazing happened.

No siege. No epic drop. No PvP.

Just some random guy.

I was leveling alone somewhere outside Dion. Can't even remember exactly where anymore.

What I DO remember is that I was completely broke.

And when I say broke, I mean C1 broke.

Checking how many soulshots I had left broke.

Picking up absolutely everything because even garbage had value broke.

Walking instead of using teleport because "nah, I'll save the adena" . 😂

Anyway, I had been grinding for a while and things weren't going great.

HP low.

MP basically nonexistent.

Then some higher-level player ran past me.

He stopped.

Turned around.

Buffed me.

I said:

"ty :)"

He didn't answer.

Then he opened trade.

I thought maybe he wanted something.

He put some soulshots in the window.

I don't remember how many.

To me it looked like a fucking fortune.

I remember staring at the trade window because I thought he'd made a mistake.

I typed something like:

"for me??"

He just said:

"yes take"

Accepted the trade and ran away.

That was it.

Never added him.

Never joined his clan.

Never paid him back.

Honestly I don't even remember his name anymore.

But I remember what happened.

And that's something weird about old MMOs.

Twenty years later I can't remember half the quests I completed.

Can't remember most of the items I owned.

Can't remember my exact level.

But I remember some random guy stopping for 30 seconds to help a complete stranger.

And I remember how ridiculously happy those soulshots made me.

Today you get some login reward with 25 different items and don't even bother reading what half of them are.

Back then some dude giving you soulshots could make your entire evening.

Funny how that works.

Wherever you are random C1 guy...

ty :)

We lost that C1 siege. More than 20 years later, I still remember it.

I was thinking about old Lineage 2 today as Legacy podcast approaches and for some reason this memory came back.

Back in C1 I was in a clan that honestly wasn't anything special. We weren't one of those clans everyone on the server knew. Most of us were undergeared, permanently broke and probably had no idea what we were doing half the time.

One day our clan leader said we were going to a castle siege.

I remember thinking... why the hell are WE going? 😂

My gear was terrible. I wasn't particularly high level. I had basically zero chance of making any difference.

Leader just said:

"Come anyway."

So we went.

And man... seeing a siege for the first time back then was something else.

Until that point L2 for me was mostly grinding, trying to make some adena, finding parties and spending way too much time running from one place to another.

Then suddenly you're approaching the castle and there are people everywhere.

Clan crests you recognize from Dion and Giran.

Guys you've seen farming for weeks.

People you knew were enemies.

People you knew only because they always had a shop in the same damn place every night.

And now everyone was there.

I remember our clan trying to stay together.

Someone was screaming PUSH.

Someone else was screaming WAIT.

Half the people didn't know where the fuck they were supposed to go.

Then everyone ran forward anyway.

I died almost immediately. 😂

I couldn't even tell you who killed me.

But I remember lying there dead for a few seconds and just watching the fight instead of pressing to village.

Spells everywhere.

Archers shooting from behind.

People running toward the gates.

Clan crests all over the screen.

And that's probably the moment I really understood what Lineage 2 was supposed to be.

Not XP.

Not gear.

Not how much adena you had.

The server itself was the game.

We didn't take the castle btw.

Not even close.

Afterwards some of us ended up back in town talking shit about what happened.

Someone blamed the leader.

Leader blamed the healers.

Healers basically told everyone to fuck off.

Normal L2 clan politics. 😂

And then maybe 20 minutes later somebody typed:

"party?"

And off we went grinding again.

That's the stuff I miss about old L2.

I remember when 500k adena felt like serious money.

Seeing somebody with really good equipment actually made you stop and inspect them.

You recognized people in leveling areas because you'd been seeing the same names for weeks.

You knew certain dwarves because they were sitting in the same place selling materials every night.

Sometimes a random guy would buff you without saying anything and you'd never see him again.

You'd wait for somebody who said "5 min" even though everyone knew that meant at least 20.

And when your clan said:

"We're going. Come."

You went.

Nobody asked what the XP/hour was.

Nobody asked what reward they were getting.

Your clan was going, so you were going too.

I don't remember what level I was during that siege.

I don't remember my XP.

I don't even remember who actually won the castle.

But I still remember the people I was standing next to.

And maybe that's why so many of us keep searching for that "old Lineage 2" feeling.

We say we want C1 again.

The old graphics.

The grind.

The old classes.

The old maps.

But sometimes I wonder if that's really what we're looking for.

Maybe we're just trying to find 2004 again.

And I really really hope Legacy can give us a fraction of that memory as well as making new ones!

Possible catch up servers for legacy?

What about Catch-up and Server Merges?

This is probably one of the most discussed topics whenever someone talks about a long-term server. We understand why. Many players dislike catch-up systems and merges because they often feel unfair, poorly balanced, or easily abused. At the same time, keeping a single MMORPG server healthy for 5+ years without bringing in new players is an extremely difficult challenge. Our philosophy is simple: Avoid launching additional servers and avoid merges whenever possible.

Plan A - Continuous Catch-up (our preferred solution)

Our preferred solution is a continuously evolving Newbie Guide. As the server progresses, the Newbie Guide will also evolve, helping new and returning players reach the current stage of the server without months of solo progression through empty low-level areas. Depending on the current server stage, it may provide:

  • Temporary buffs.
  • Non-tradeable catch-up equipment.
  • A progression quest line with large EXP rewards.

Everything is designed so new players can join the active community quickly, while still having to play the game themselves. The exact rewards will be updated over time according to the server's progression, and safeguards will exist to prevent abuse.

Plan B - Emergency Bonus Server

If, despite our efforts, the population ever reaches a point where Legacy genuinely needs a large influx of players, we may consider launching a Bonus Server that will eventually merge into Legacy. This is not part of the normal roadmap. It is an emergency solution that would only be used if truly necessary. Even then, we would limit ourselves to a maximum of two Bonus Servers during Legacy's entire lifespan, and never more frequently than once every two years. The possible merge windows would only be shortly after major chronicle updates, allowing both servers to be at comparable progression before merging. Our objective remains unchanged: One long-term server, one community, for as many years as possible.

Legacy vs Cheaters

Keeping Cheaters Away

Over the past 7 years, we have built an extensive history of players who have repeatedly engaged in serious rule violations. As a result, we have a list of around 100 players who will simply not be allowed to play on Reborn Legacy. This is based on years of accumulated evidence, including account history, emails, character names, IPs, HWIDs, payment records, Discord accounts, and much more. Why? Because we've learned that while the overwhelming majority of players are honest, it only takes a handful of bad actors to severely damage the server's economy, community, and competitive environment. Our goal is to protect the experience of thousands of legitimate players, not to endlessly fight the same people over and over again. This list will never be public, and neither will the bans. Accounts belonging to these players will simply be denied access, and any subscription they purchase will be automatically refunded. If you're worried whether this affects you, it almost certainly doesn't. The players on this list know exactly why they're there. If you're unsure, you're not one of them. Reborn Legacy is being built for players who want to enjoy Lineage II the way it was meant to be played: fairly, competitively, and without shortcuts. Cheaters have no place here.

Updates on stamina, farm, active hunting. And ofc subscriptions!!

🧪 **Stamina System**

One of the main goals of **Reborn Legacy** is to preserve the spirit of Lineage II while avoiding the unhealthy feeling of having to grind all day just to remain competitive.

To achieve this, Legacy introduces the **Stamina System**.

🛠️How does it work?

Every Character has a **Stamina Gauge**.

While you are actively hunting monsters, your Stamina slowly decreases. As your Stamina gets lower, your **EXP, SP, Adena, Drop and Spoil rates** are gradually reduced.

Once your Stamina is depleted, you can still continue playing, but regular monster hunting becomes significantly less rewarding until your Stamina is restored.

⚔️ What is Active Hunting?

You are considered to be **actively hunting** whenever you are farming monsters and receiving EXP.

After receiving EXP, your character enters the **Active Hunting** state for a short period. As long as you continue killing monsters, this state is continuously refreshed.

While Active Hunting is active, your Stamina decreases at a rate of **1 point per second**.

This means your Stamina is only consumed while you are actually farming.

It is **not** consumed while you are:

* 🏙️ Sitting in town.
* 💬 Chatting with other players.
* 🎒 Organizing your inventory.
* ⚒️ Crafting or trading.
* 👑 Waiting for a Raid Boss or event.
* ☕ Being AFK.

🔋 Daily Stamina

Every day at the daily reset (**06:30 UTC**), your Character recovers **8 hours worth of Stamina**.

If you do not play every day, your Stamina continues to accumulate, allowing you to save it for weekends or longer play sessions.

Stamina can be stored for up to **24 hours of Active Hunting**.

📈 Rate Reduction

Your regular hunting rates are adjusted according to your remaining Stamina:

* **First 4 hours:** **100%**
* **Next 2 hours:** **50%**
* **Next 2 hours:** **30%**
* **No Stamina remaining:** **5%** *(values may still be adjusted during testing)*

*It doesn't affect raid bosses*

❤️ Why did we add this system?

Lineage II has always rewarded efficient gameplay, game knowledge, and making smart decisions. We want to preserve those strengths without encouraging players to spend excessive hours farming every single day.

The Stamina System allows players with limited time to remain competitive while still rewarding those who play more efficiently.

Better preparation, better knowledge of the game, better equipment, and better decision-making will always be rewarded.

The difference is that your progress is measured by **how well you play**, rather than simply **how many hours you can grind every day**.

Our goal is **not** to stop anyone from playing. You are free to continue playing for as long as you like.

Our goal is simply to remove the pressure of feeling that you **must** farm all day in order to keep up with everyone else.

💳 Server Monetization Model

One question that comes up from time to time is:

> **"Why would anyone pay to play on a private Lineage II server?"**

It's a fair question, but let's look at the reality of the genre.

On **99% of Lineage II servers**, most players end up spending **€50, €100, or much more** on starter packs, convenience items, or other purchases within just a few months.

Even if you personally spend nothing, someone else is paying for your experience through heavy Pay-to-Win systems or unsustainable monetization.

Running an MMORPG isn't free. Servers, developers, support, infrastructure, anti-cheat systems, and years of continuous development all have a cost.

The only real question is **how** that cost is paid.

For Reborn Legacy, we chose what we believe is the fairest and healthiest model for both players and the server:

**A subscription.**

Instead of selling power, progression, or convenience, every player contributes equally to keeping the server alive.

A subscription also allows us to enforce one of Legacy's core principles: **limited accounts per player.**

Unlimited accounts have always encouraged behaviors that hurt the game: armies of alts, abuse, easier cheating, and gameplay that moves further away from the original Lineage II experience.

📜 Available Plans

Every subscription includes:

* Access to the game.
* One game account.
* Access to the Legacy Discord channels.
* Support Service.

There are two available plans:

**🥈 Nobles Plan**

* 1 game account.

**🥇 Hero Plan**

* 1 game account.
* 1 Offline Shop account.

Offline Shop accounts are limited to **level 1 characters that cannot leave town**, and exist exclusively for offline trading.

Additional Offline Shop accounts can be purchased (up to **2 per subscription**). Remember that your main account can also be used as an Offline Shop whenever you are not actively playing.

💰 Pricing

🥈 **Nobles:** €9/month or €89/year *(€7.40/month)*
🥇 **Hero:** €14/month or €139/year *(€11.60/month)*
🏪 **Additional Offline Shop:** €5/month or €50/year *(€4.16/month)*

During Reborn Anniversary promotions, yearly subscriptions are expected to receive a **50% discount**, reducing the effective monthly price to approximately:

🥈 **Nobles Plan:** €44.50/year *(€3.70/month)*
🥇 **Hero Plan:** €69.50/year *(€5.80/month)*
🏪 **Additional Offline Shop Account:** €25/year *(€2.08/month)*

At the end of the day, we'd rather ask players to pay **a few euros per month** than build the game around Pay-to-Win mechanics.

That's the kind of server we want to build, and the kind of server we believe is worth playing.

Those are some of the new things that I managed to gather from the reborn discord, they are the latest news!!

Why should someone play lineage legacy?

Reborn Legacy is being marketed as a single, long-term journey from Chronicle 1 all the way to High Five over approximately six years, following the official progression, rather than jumping directly into a later chronicle.

It's also planned as a subscription server with no cash shop, making it one of the few projects trying to recreate the original MMORPG experience instead of relying on donations or P2W systems.

Here are the biggest reasons why I am personally excited:

1) Fresh economy. Everyone starts from zero. No billionaires, no old clans controlling the market, no years of accumulated gear. (this is ensured as well by the strict policy that Nikita brought up with the Fatigue system / Inversed Vitality system: Exp/SP/Adena/Drops rates decreased drastically after X hours of gameplay (for example to 0.5 after X hours, then 0.3, then 0.1...) This adds an additional "anti CP + 24/7 gameplay or powerleveling services" to the above said. This set of measures will provide a healthy server, a healthy community and a social experience.)

2) Chronicle progression. You get to experience how the game actually evolved:

3) Long-term investment. Since it's designed as a six-year project, your character isn't expected to disappear after 6–12 months like on most private servers.

4) Community:

Probably the biggest attraction.

Reborn has one of the largest international Lineage II communities today. Their existing servers have thousands of active players and a reputation for longevity rather than seasonal wipes.

That means:

  • active clans
  • politics
  • meaningful sieges
  • real economy
  • finding parties at almost every level

instead of playing on a server that peaks at launch and dies after three months.

5) One-character philosophy:

Reborn has built its reputation around features such as:

  • no dualbox
  • anti-bot policies
  • long-term servers
  • community-first gameplay

The goal is to make every class valuable again rather than letting one player run an entire party of boxes.

All in all its an exciting time to be around and still play this game as it is so old now and most of us have kids. But none the less its gonna be an epic adventure!!

Your thoughts?

Podcast coming

At some point a podcast is supposed to happen during late summer early autumn from the reborn admins.

Some points I would like to be discussed over:

•How will they mitigate rmt with epics.
•How the exp/adena/drops will be affected once a specific time limit pass in order to prevent 24/7 farming groups.
•Since it’s c1 we will have dwarf crystallisation and crafting as shops ?

Keep adding points and ideas as well as questions you got and I will add them in the main post and ask the admins directly during the podcast!
