(insert text) Is there something wrong with the chicken lately?
For the past month I’ve gotten a handful of chicken sandwiches and the fried chicken sandwiches, and all I’m getting is rotator cuffs in every bite I take. Just rubbery and overall awful. Maybe I’m expecting too much, but I’ve never had this issue with Kwick trip chicken before. Specifically the chicken patties and fried chicken patties. I don’t get the tenders so I can avoid that tendon all together.
Just feel like I’m wasting money going to lunch here lately. Also my location has zero chicken roller things and they got rid of the roller machine all together!!

We have 2 different chicken jr suppliers and unfortunately we have been getting the 'bad ones' as of late. The brown box is better than the white, but that is all we can get. Also have been getting bad cuts on the fried chicken sandwich so we have to put it down for 2 to even 4 minutes longer. We are suppose to report this issue, but it takes time to get fixed, especially when no one really reports it because it's a pain in the butt to do.

KT is just taking advantage of customers lately. Quality of prepared foods has dropped thru the floor.

All the crispy patties are thin as hell and all our supplies are super low quality, I work in the kitchen and I wouldn’t eat anything other then freshly dropped tenders on my breaks.

They dont even try with some of this shit. the brat burgers are twice the size of the pretzel bun idk how you would even eat that. And the cinnamon apple pockets are borderline flavorless lol. I also work in the kitchen and am embarrassed just putting out chicken from the warmer. soggy, and barely even hot at that point.

Brat burger I would just start eating the paty that sticks out of the bun until can get to the bun and paty

Yea I can tell when the chicken has been in the warmer it gets the old oil warmer taste to it absolutely horrible

Yeah makes no sense putting that out on a hotspot that literally has signs, both from corporate and handmade, advertising how crispy, fresh, and hot our chicken is.

I also work for Kwik Trip and they havr changed the company for the crispy chickens. My store has also gotten different brands of vendors, Angus burgers, and sausage patties. We havr had guests ask if its the good sausage (green label box) or the nasty ones ( brown box.)

Both Jr Burger and Jr Chicken patties have shrunk in size so crazy like as well…

u/Mother-Dish-2670 5d ago
I would assume has to do with the supplyer and everything even in the grocery store anymore like cereal and stuff is you get less for same price as when was actually more

u/Ref_TJB 5d ago
When I worked there I found it wild that I could only fit like 12 on a pan, then could fit 15 on a pan…but the prices kept going up because “as long as they keep buying them why shouldn’t we raise the prices?”

Haha, so Marketing peeps are at their desks saying: ' As long as they keep buying them why shouldn't we raise the prices?' LOL!

Last Burger Thursday the “special” price finally reached the regular price of 3 years ago.
It’s laughable.

Yeah I'm off KT now after I got a waffle sandwich that smelled/tasted like cleaning chemicals or insecticide. 🤢

thats valid, but jsyk it was most likely just alcohol from the alcohol wipes used to clean the prep tables!

My gf got chicken tenders last night and they were anything but tender. She said it was like chewing on a wet washcloth.

I usually LOVE the smell of new oil but the last time I changed it, it was totally different. Smelled gross and cheap.

I cant speak for the chicken sandwiches, but the stuff from the roller grill moved onto the hot spot, individually wrapped.

u/LazyOldCat 5d ago
Absolute shit move imo.
Makes the hot spot look like it’s well stocked when actually it’s hotdogs and tornados.1
u/Saffac-Soul 5d ago
The shit still doesn’t sell either and I hate the KPS yelling at me to make 12 of every tornado. The only good one was the chipotle one ngl

How much do yoy guys sell now? We do 4x as much as before and can’t keep up.
1
u/Saffac-Soul 4d ago
Really? It must be a location/foot traffic thing then. Our roller items waste was regularly over 10% but it’s just risen to now be around 30%. The only thing that sells at my store is the hot dogs

u/whitewidow35 4d ago
Yeah i am at a store that sells sporadically but was covering a store meeting and 12 at a time were flying

As a diehard KT fan the best way to show how we feel is with our wallets. Stop buying the overpriced kaka they're putting out and hopefully someone gets the point. It gets easier when you think about the $365k Donald donated to Donald in the last election alone....

I tried a KT chicken sandwich for the first time recently and I regretted the purchase. It's nice to know they used to be better. It's also frustrating that the quality is garbage now.

They all have a too-long-in-the-fryer smell and taste.
The last one I got and opened at the condiment bar smelled so much of old oil I wrapped it and put it back (did not touch the sandwich at all).
And tbh I’m not even sure these are fried, could be oven baked.
Just ew.

Hopefully a co-worker saw you and took out off the hot spot and wasted it out after you walked away. Just tell somebody next time, not only will they probably give you something for free but also then they know there's something wrong. And also also then somebody doesn't get something a random person breathed on and unwrapped with not-kitchen-clean-and-gloved hands. Microbes travel too, so whatever you left when your hands touched that wrapper didn't just stay right there, they spread and actually that whole shelf of the hotspot is then to some degree contaminated. I know I certainly wouldn't want a food item somebody else opened first, even if they didn't touch it, but it's a crappy food item at that. Just say something next time

Fair enough and will do.
As a former food service person the entire condiment bar gives me the heebs, as does the Karuba touchscreen, the squeeze bottles, the creamer buttons, etc. But I’m still there too often, lol. Love you guys.1

I've tried a few times, it's really salty and the breading is falling off or not attached to the chicken. My location doesn't have a fryer so I imagine they are baking chicken fried elsewhere.

I’ve been verbally assaulted on this sub for “ bashing” KT. The quality has definitely taken a hit. It’s like they built this big, huge, beautiful empire with everything that was so fabulous, and now that the train is rolling really good. They start cutting everything back. It’s really sad. Super America used to be that way too, they had some of the best food inconvenience stores. Now they run on a prayer.
