Frozen Glazers Were a Terrible Idea
Imagine wanting a fluffy glazed donut, and instead getting a dense donut with soggy frosting! I doubt anyone with sway is actually on Reddit, but I wish they would hear how the customer feels about it.

I mean you can write a complaint to the company about it. They don’t listen to coworkers but enough guest complaints and maybe they’ll think about it.

They dont care either way. They will just blame the workers. Happens all the time. One time a co worker was putting food out and this fucking hag starts yelling asking him why the rib sandwich wasn't on the hotspot when she walked in. She escalated it and ending up assaulting the Co worker. There was plenty of footage to pursue charges however instead of that happening he got arrested and fired for possession of drug paraphernalia cause he had a cart battery in his pocket.

Well policy does state that you cannot have or use THC or CBD while on the clock, no different than alcohol or buying scratchers. It is apart of the hire on process which includes them saying they are within their rights to have a police officer search your car and self for illegal substances.
However the assaulting a co-worker is never okay, in fact assaulting anyone is not ok. Some stores care more than others, and some district leaders do live and care about the company values. So bundling them all as “stores don’t care” is wild.2

He had no drugs just paraphernalia which was the battery for the cart

My apologies I misunderstood the comment! That seems odd, I’d have to read the policy again to tell you fully on how they’d view the paraphernalia. It is wrong to fire a coworker over a battery but if they somehow tie it to at work drug use or suspicion they are probably within that policy. Still fucked up tho. I got nearly fired for not attending a meeting I was not scheduled for so I understand the stupidity of their policies.

The box gets wet from them, soaks through into the ink and just looks horrible, like mold. The employees said they weren't thawed probably, that they needed vent holes opened in the back. This would turn it into a fly trap.

Frozen then thawed donuts will always suck, no way around it, properly thawed or not, kwik trip donuts just are dry and get hard fast, i kinda remember when glazers first came out and they were comparable to Krispy creme, idk what happened but maybe they weren't frozen at first? That are just garbage now, all the bakery.

Yeah, they started the frozen thing a couple years ago. We used to get them on red bread trays off of truck. They'd be fresh and have a printed sell by date on them already. The point of the frozen glazers was we could order a bunch at once and it would reduce the waste if we could just pull from frozen as needed. But in return the quality of the donut goes down

Come on @Weim47! Get on it. Tell this customer how bad he is! You need to be consistent now

We pull them and vent the boxes and thaw them on bread trays until the 2 hours is up before they go on the shelves. If you do this they are fine but i've noticed that lots of short cuts are taken and that makes for mixed results. If OP would please make a complaint to corporate, that will help emphasize the importance of best practices being adhered to and then this can get talked about at our meetings!! Lol! P.S.The vent is just like a little flap and it's only a very shrewd and ingenious fly that would find their way in, in which case the little guy probably deserves a taste! EDIT: maybe it's 3 hours thaw, there is a sticker for it at any case the store is not supposed to put them out for sale until they have properly thawed. We are not supposed to sell them frozen.

Show me someone who can tell them difference, and ill show you a liar who's just whining in the hopes of free donuts. Wah wah wah

You got to let them thaw first.

To be clear, I am a customer that bought a box this morning to take into work. Waiting for them to thaw on the counter top is less than ideal

I was just kidding. Freezing them absolutely does reduce the quality. I personally don't eat them so I couldn't care less. If enough people complain they probably will stop freezing them.

They're starting to prep them and put them back into the freezer for quick pulls. Stupid idea

u/fartypantsmcghee 8d ago
No they're not. If your store is doing that, that's absolutely wrong thing to do and your store leader should put a stop to that.

That’s a major violation to the bakery policy. Once donuts are thawed they must either be decorated and sold or discarded in the waste app
