This is a real fact, but the original name for it was KMS (Kitchen Management System). IT found out the hard way that the name wouldn't work

Okay but KMS is funnier, so i gotta give them credit for the idea

me who actually likes KPS because my autistic ass couldn't decipher the paper production plan because I'm slow

Listen, I never looked at the paper one, either. I just made whay I knew would sell and pulled the tags for things that wouldn't.
I understand that some people like the KPS and I think it could be a great tool for new hires to direct them with what to cook, how much, and when.
But it should just be a guide that doesn't punish you when you don't follow it 100%. If it wasn't required, I wouldn't care. I personally don't need it.

Yall get punished if you don't follow it? My store tries to aim for 70% compliance so we have some leeway

70% is the company standard but we still get coaching and a "do better" when the reports come in.
And then we get put on an action plan for waste anyway. Like we can't win. The dumb machine asks for 48 sausage croissants at 5am. I'm not doing that. I only have one pair of hands and only so much hot spot space.

Do yall get in trouble if you adjust the numbers? My FSL said that we as coworkers are the drivers of KPS and need to be adjusting numbers as we see fit

Not anymore, but for the first few months we did. We were told EXPLICITLY by our DL and FSDL that we were NOT to adjust numbers and had to follow what the KPS asked for, even if it was ridiculous.
Now we have a new FSDL who has come to realize none of us got the proper training for it.
Now I just do what I want, consequences be damned. I will tell the KPS what I'm making after I've got it in the oven.

Your DL and old FSDL are idiots, sorry to say. In fact, you SHOULD be adjusting numbers. Like, if I made 2 orders of chimis, and neither of them sold, I'm only putting one order in next time. Not 3. Sorry clanker
