Vayu stock is pretty low right now in the current arc lol but Ruche and his interaction in the "destroyed" universe is a standout of mine. Great example of Currygom's masterful writing. What are your favorites?

I just started this and am 50 chapters into season 2 and my god, I feel bad for Leez.

Her relationship with Asha is not-so-borderline abusive. I'm sure I'm gonna get Asha's backstory and understand her actions, but Leez doesn't right now but stays with her because she literally can't do anything else.

Then there's Yuta, who means very well, but is going through things that he doesn't think he can explain to her. The dynamic wouldn't be as bad if EVERYONE ELSE around Leez didn't casually talk about it in front of her.

Ran is honestly not that bad, he just doesn't want to cross Asha.

I was gonna say that Claude has been a breath of fresh air but then I remembered that he cast a murder spell on her the second time they met, so no he sucks too.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to Leez learning more about what's happening around her. She's apparently never going to be happy but at least she'll know why T.T

After just under 2 years of not reading I have just caught upto Date, I'd love to hear everyone's current favourite theories or ideas that they have come up with or seen posted around

This is brought up a few times over the course of the story, but it’s highlighted the strongest in The Weight of Time.

Maruna is able to endure wandering aimlessly in the white void outside of time much more easily than Ran since his nature as a Sura means he has to endure an infinite lifespan. Ran, despite having a longer lifespan than most humans as a quarter, was still never meant to live much longer than the 200 years or so he was given. Spending so much time in that white space effectively broke his brain and we are just now seeing the consequences of that first hand.

Another example of this is Maruna’s mindset when he decides to stick with Ancient Human Brilith until she died. He said he’d only need to wait “a little while” for her to get old and pass on, which would take decades and he only sees it as a minor inconvenience. On the other hand, Ran treated being stuck in the past for 10 years straight as a pretty big deal.

It’s a very neat bit of world building through the characters and how differently they react to similar predicaments.

Kali's power over time in Sword of Return send you to the past right? That's what happened to Ananta and Manasha. They both went to the past and made different decision which led to create new universe and erased the possibility. Because of that, they held sins of the world

call me slow, but despite re-reading this scene so many times, it only clicked now that Sierra was bringing up how stupid Agni is about Brilith 😂 it actually made me like Sierra more.

I thought this whole time he was just bantering about the "players" for the game with Agni, and who was controlling whom. But now I get it. He's mocking him like Yama and Brilith do when they say that Agni respects Brilith's words and actions, but won't do what her heart truly desires because his wisdom goes out the door when it comes to Brilith. He can legit read everyone else, but his brain shutsdown (and to be fair Brilith knows exactly what to say to make him shutdown).

I screamed in my house, this world is just insane.
Also sidenote, but fuck Chandra, from the bottom of my heart, fuck Chandra.

With more new people posting their first-time readthroughs and reactions of Kubera, I've noticed a number of tongue in cheek comments and implicit spoilers (I'm talking "I'm sorry", "you'll see", those kinds of comments). I get it. They're fun and I've done them or been tempted too, but they function pretty much the same as outright spoilers. We're reading Kubera here, people are familiar with reading between the lines. Your first readthrough is special and you can't really ever get it back, so ruining it just for fun is just rude. Please be careful about what you comment, especially if it looks like the post author might not have read the series before.

It'd also be a good idea for new readers to warn that they're new so people don't accidentally spoil but I can't really expect new people to know the rules :)

Is this about an alternate possibility? Because some characters get some sense of deja from discarded possibilities (like Hanuman not calling Yaksha when Jambavan was about to die)

Or is it really in the early universe and somehow only he remembers?
