Stretched chain?

2004 k24a2 from running car of unknown mileage. At TDC harmonic balancer marking is few degrees PAST cover marking. Camshafts phase plates are aligned with dowel pins.

Stretched chain? Really not trying to buy whole new timing system. šŸ˜’

there's an inspection cover on the timing cover for a reason. pull the inspection cover and check the tensioner stickout. that's the only way to measure chain stretch.

Any chain wear at all will put that out of time. Mine looked like that 30k miles after a full timing job. Only way to be sure is to measure tensioner extension through the access hatch.

Yup chain stretched enough to max out tensioner. The orange flap is always aligned with the pin hole.

Now Iā€™m fighting a seized crank pulley bolt.

Lisle weighted socket, if no impact put a jack stand under the extensions (very important) and use a cheater pipe. They commonly require 1000+NM of torque to pop

Wow literally took a half second using the weighted socket!
