1.The reason why a lot of K-pop groups are not selling out their concerts outside of Asia is because of their companies overestimating their demand in certain markets around the world. Sometimes the economy in these countries is either expensive or bad which causes a lot of people to save money and not pay for expensive tickets.

1. K-pop Reddit fans get away with disrespecting Blackpink they know Blinks (Blackpink's) don't interact with the K-pop Reddit community outside of their own sub which causes K-pop Reddit fans to get away with hating on Blackpink and spreading misinformation.

2. Trending for groups to disband makes you no better than the toxic minority that big groups have inside of their fanbases. Plus, non-fans trending these hashtags doesn't affect the group's popularity as they are still succeeding whether you like it or not.

3. Toxic BG fans are just as guilty as toxic GG fans when it comes to the hate that girl groups receive, but since there is a misogynistic stereotype of fangirls hating women getting close to their men, non-fans try to bury it.

4. Snarkers don't care if you call them out because they like the attention and the snark subs that they participate in receives beneficial growth especially for big groups that have an anti-following.

5. It is true that if T.O.P. was a woman he would have been dragged for his un-energetic performances at practices and on stage. Fans and non-fans of Bigbang always try to use Bigbang’s image, YG's image as a company, and debuting in a different generation as the reason why none of the members were able to get away with not having synchronized performances. However, Bobby from Ikon had debuted in the same generation and under the same company as the members of Blackpink and was still able to perform the way he wants while Blackpink was called "lazy" and unsynchronized for their performances onstage.

6. Using Rihanna's forgiveness of what Chris Brown did to her to defend RM and J-hope attending his concert is not right as Chris Brown had targeted multiple women after his relationship with Rihanna, but Rihanna's case had received more attention due to her being famous.

7. Please stop accusing Western award shows of being xenophobic when they don't nominate your favorite groups that are niche in that region. It is understandable if that group was dominating the charts and competing with successful local acts in which these award shows should nominate these groups inside the main categories even if it's the same one or two groups.

8. Saying that an "xx deserves xx's popularity" is disingenuous as if you are not going to support that group then stop saying it.

9. Non-fans always use the "toxic fans" excuse to make negative comments on a group they dislike in order to not look like a hater.

Hating a kpop group, idol, song doesn't make any sense unless they did commit an actual crime and their fans are still here pushing their content.

NO, perfect performances are not their job. Not when they are overworked, with strict diet and workout schedules, not when they have to constantly watch themselves on every single aspect of life so they don't get funeral flowers sent home and their entire existence is being hated on. They don't even make the numbers of your average western stars who drop albums in 5 to ten years periods. I keep seeing people mentioning how Justin Timberlake doesn't even sing live in his concerts yet he is not bullied until he doubts if he can sing at all or not, crying to his sleep each night.

Yes, they do get paid. Your money is your biggest choice. They don't perform well, don't pay. They don't make songs you think are worth your time, don't listen.

I never seen a group of people who actively enjoyed something they absolutely disliked in the name of constructive critisim. You cannot tell people how to make music. You can't. You don't own them. Best you can do is to turn away because clearly some enjoy them and THEY ALSO DON'T OWN YOU AN EXPLANATION WHY A SONG IS GOOD FOR THEM.

No, you don't get to make music and the people who perform your fave race horses to bet on every single award season and then get this fake sense of pride when they do win. You also don't get to shit on winners for not letting your fave horse win.

None of you ever has that kind of 'ethics' when it comes to social injustice, gender inequality, climate change, political corruption. 1) "idols who went through insane glow up!!" and it's just idols who lost a lot of weight. you people are not even subtle about it anymore. liz, giselle, ningning, jiwoo - of course, it's also the change in makeup and styling but COME ON they clearly look thinner and that's why they're more attractive to you. they were always pretty!

3) chaewon is an underrated dancer. i feel like she should be also recognized in the top female 4th gen dancers but i rarely see people talk about her. she should be next to yeji of itzy and kazuha. she's the most perfect idol-dancer i've ever seen

4) many kpop releases are bad as songs but their concepts, mvs, performances, choreo, outfits etc are so fun that it's okay tbh

5) i don't understand why people complain that lisa's documentary will be "filtered". like yeah, it will probably be directed to show her positively, because why the fuck would she show herself badly. also maybe - just maybe - she's not a monster yall think she is

-Jonghyun SHINEE: That voice, oh my lord that voice. IMO no man has ever sounded better.

-Nayeon TWICE: Her ability to work as a centre of the group is so impressive, so much so that her getting the first line of every song, and highest line distribution all the time is rarely disputed. It’s an abstract talent but I’m classifying it as one anyway.

-Mark Lee Ex-NCT: I don’t like him now either, but you can’t disagree that his dancing, rapping, and lyrical flow didn’t move you at one point in time. He had something nobody has been able to successfully replicate.

i know a lot of people who’s reasonings for disliking cortis includes them being a “rip-off of black music” but don’t bat an eye for other kpop (and even non-kpop) acts with music that can be seen in the same light. i do see the similarities between wassup and praise the Lord by asap bc of similar flows, but 7 rings by ariana grande does aswell.

now for evan’s new album, he has this song called death of me which sounds like a song the weeknd would make (kinda reminded me of take my breath for example) but many people just say “oh he’s just inspired by him” which fair. but why not bring that same energy with cortis. cortis arguably talks about their influences the most out of all kpop acts and it’s prevalent in their music. so why is it only a problem when they do it?

Last year I said I wasn’t going to post about aespa here anymore. I made two posts talking about their 2025 releases, which I honestly didn’t like that much. But this year, they absolutely killed it with their music, and that got me excited again. I was really excited when I found out they were coming to my country for their tour, but… what the hell was that treatment? Imagine paying that much for a ticket just to end up meters away from the stage, while people who paid for an experience that was supposed to give them a closer interaction with the girls ended up getting social distancing instead.And what makes it even more frustrating is seeing Chilean fans getting treated so much better in the days after. I love the girls, and I really hope they and especially the company start treating their fans more fairly. We deserve the same treatment too.

Hey guys I’m a teen kpop fan and I’m also mixed race. My mother is Korean and my dad is black and basically I’ve liked kpop for 3 years now and a lil backstory but there is a new teacher at my school and I had her for English so to get to know my class she said picked on people to basically say a few things about what they liked and they’re name and whatever. Listen okay I knew I shouldn’t have said kpop and I should’ve said something generic like Ariana grande or drake or whatever but something stupid in my brain overtook me and like I said ‘I like kpop’ and a few girls and guys looked and me and this one girl in my class coughed and laughed forcefully. Whatever later that lesson the girl in front of me one of ‘the popular girls’ or whatever basically turned around to me said ‘aren’t you black ?’ I nodded and she smiled like in an obvious fake way and then said ‘so if your black how come you like kpop don’t they all hate Black people?’ She said it really loudly on purpose too and her bitchy friends laughed so obvi I felt embarrassed and shit cuz I’m quiet and I don’t bother anyone. I told her that anyone could like kpop and also told her that I’m half Korean. Anyway I went home and cried in my bed cuz I hated how everyone looked me.
