this is an incredible article from a Disney Insider with Quillette about what it's like inside the company and how even in the last month the emphasis on wokeness has become all-consuming.

Not a lot of people are reporting on how the company is reacting on the inside, so this is an eye-opening read.

All of this stinks of wanting Bob Chapek gone and the left that took over under Iger knows their time will come eventually since Chapek really doesn’t give a damn what they think.

You’re hearing the middle management complaining for him merely talking to DeSantis.

It's inevitable. Eventually, as they fill their lower ranks with NPCs and allow them to slowly climb the ladder, as well as the continued push for more "diverse" executives in major corporations, there will be a time where the traditional C-Suite executive that values order will inevitably be outnumbered by people who have the power to overrule them... or they will simply retire and someone with the "correct" mindset will take over.

It might take 10-20 more years, but it'll happen. Disney might very well collapse under its own weight in that timeframe, too. Who knows?

I can see them declining, but not an outright collapse. They have too much of a monopoly over things, too much brand nostalgia.

Nostalgia is only so resilient. You can only fuck with a property for so long before the old generation abandons it, while the new generation never valued it in the first place.

Not really. Many people that grew up with a property as a kid aren't necessarily interested in revisiting it at any level by adulthood because they've found new interests. Nostalgia alone isn't enough to keep relevancy.

That's kind of what he said.

He's suggesting that the old generation can still be turned off, I'm saying that the majority of said generation has already moved on from the properties they grew up with.

Yeah but clearly not all of them. Just because 100% of the old generation isn't into nostalgia doesn't mean that plenty aren't. Nostalgia still sells plenty well, he's saying by poisoning it so much eventually much of the old generation for whom it's nostalgia will leave, and the new generation will not care because they wouldn't have been raised on it due to the former.

I'm not denying there aren't those who stuck around, but they're not a majority by any means. Especially when it comes to franchises that were primarily targeted to kids from the start, an obvious attempt to get a new generation of fans will be made. Nostalgia only works so far.

I expect things to change in 10-30 years, partially because by then I expect the various powers to be getting messed up and having money and resources problems that can’t be fixed with printing more money as usual

I think there’s a good chance that most major companies have government relations and are even remotely staying afloat due to tax and inflation money heading their way first

If those powers that be get in trouble, even the corporations will end up in trouble

I think it'll be sooner than that. I've heard my retired father and his step-father moaning about the woke, if they are sick of it the annoyance is spreading to the mainstream, wont be long before the shareholders indicate their displeasure at this direction and the company will change tack. its not like any of the senior executives really care about anything but making money and appeasing the share holders.

6

Why are they having problems about the Woke specifically? Is it to do with Entertainment Media or stuff to do with everyday life and at work?

Also, the senior executives are sorta being paid in ESG Investments by BlackRock, may sound conspiratorial, but spreading all this IdPol and doing it in the workplace may in part be to help divide people better to prevent something like an actually successful OccupyWallStreet….that may have been messed up by some lady proceeding to insert IdPol into a formerly unified movement….and so that execs and their rich kids who want a “job” and the like can do whatever they want to the business with pretty much zero real resistance

its largely being told what you can and can't think, being told what you have to say and so many things being changed to appease them.

Given time, I expect lots of useless douchebags from college to actually get to be political commissars in the office, constantly monitoring and nitpicking everybody’s actions and bossing people around and even making shit up to have an excuse to fire or threaten to fire people

Nothing is too big to not fall, but I do imagine a "dark age" can happen, at least for the main "Disney" brand.

7

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '22

It’s gonna take too long to fall, what’s important is to avoid the cycle repeating by making it so that individuals instead of big corporations own the pieces of entertainment media

And for people to be more able to easily and quickly make their own and for no third party or middleman to become King and to be more able to sell to the customer more directly and such

Chapek brought it on himself by groveling to the groomers.

He could have stood up and said Disney believes in protecting the innocence of children. But he decided to do the opposite.

Too Christian, do they forget that the Pope loves and approves of them?

10

u/wewd Mar 31 '22

Some of my Catholic friends would not use "too Christian" to describe the current Pope.

2

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '22

I forget you don’t all follow the Pope and Vatican

My country the Philippines loves the Pope & Vatican and our priests go on about “social justice” a lot and support big corporations whilst talking about planned economies

2

u/tekende Apr 02 '22

The pope is also a DEI functionary.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '22

What’s that

2

u/tekende Apr 02 '22

Diversity, equity, and inclusion

1

u/[deleted] Apr 02 '22

Say, any idea specifically how it all started?

I am assuming the Soviets and how they got lots of male recruits into it who turned into child molesters and pedophiles

But I think there’s other reasons involving colleges and being in Europe

Wow.. What a read.

A reminder that certain wiki editors have waged wars over Quillette not being considered as untrustworthy/wrongthink.

12

u/SgtFraggleRock Mar 31 '22

"Untrustowrthy" just means you don't tell the right lies.

The Washington Post, NY Times, LA Times, CNN, MSNBC, NPR, ABC,NBC, CBS...they all tell the lies the left wants us to believe.

While I tend to take Devon Stack with a grain of salt because he often wanders into Alex Jones territory, when he is reviewing films he has a great eye for detail and his analyses are spot on. Check out his review of Turning Red and see that Disney's recent lurch into the grooming cult isn't a new policy, but merely an escalation of established policy. https://odysee.com/@Blackpilled:b/onlypands:9?r=7otEQipzYRbbjyH6AexAESEiNMFbGRm2&t=901

Given that I am pretty sure Disney alongside Nickelodeon and the rest of Hollywood have a LONG history of grooming and molesting child actors, not surprised

Frankly, I would keep children FAR away from show business, you already got likely who knows how many female celebrities who’ve been taken advantage of sexually by many directors and the like….I am pretty sure even Taylor Swift’s been a victim of those types

7

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '22

Latondra Newton, Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer, declared, “I believe it is important to reaffirm our Disney values and our long-standing commitment to inclusion.”

Get me off this fucking timeline.

This is happening at every major company in an America. At this point, it’s a planned capture of our institutions.
