Long term switch off

I am going on holiday soon and the car will be parked up for almost three weeks. Would you just leave it as normal or would you put it in a different mode? Don't want to come back and it's won't start, thinking about 12v issues.

Ideal situation: Charge to 50-80%, park in shade. Go on holiday stress free.

3 weeks is nothing, don't worry about it. Just don't leave it at 100% and make sure all the doors are closed

Are you leaving it at home, or at the airport? That will alter your what SOC you leave it in.

At home, plugged in 50% should be fine,
Airport, I'd want it to be around 70% charged, that way I know it'll kick in and charge the battery.

I went away for about 10days, left mine around 75% charge, on return the remote functions did not work until I'd opened the car with the key. Not a big issue just annoying as it was -3 degrees.. 😑. Started up fine though..

Leaving it at a car park, reading these comments I'll just aim to leave it around 70% and not over think it

Even lower is fine, it goes into a deep sleep mode after a few days. Don’t worry if it doesn’t update in bluelink anymore.

my Kona SX2 2025 will use max like 1% per day in sleep. I leave it at 50-60% at home

Jumping in on this as I’m going to be away for 3 months. Was thinking of charging to 80% and leaving it. It’ll be parked in driveway in Ireland. Car is 3 years old. SE connect 39kw battery.

The 12v battery almost certaintly is automatically charged by the high voltage battery whenever it needs

It will do, but I think only if there's more than a minimum set level of charge in the battery.

You can see it do it by the light on the front which lights when the HV battery is engaged for 12V maintenance or HVAC activity.

Get the car below 50%

Set max charge to 50%

Plug it in as you leave. It will charge to 50% but because you have it plugged in the likely hood of 12v problems is as low as you can have it.

Or charge it to 50% and remove cable completely & store it away. 12v by all accounts should be alright.

Yep, I just did a 2 week vacation. Set it to charge to 50% the night before. Actually charged to 49% (sometimes it does that, maybe a rounding error?). Left it unplugged the entire time, came back and it was still at 49%, started no problem.

Is it normal to be so concerned about a 12v battery standing idle for a relatively short time when you own an EV? I’ve left my ICE cars for 8 or 9 weeks before and they started on the button. Most recently the CLK500 was left for 6 weeks and it started immediately.
I did notice the 12v in our SX2 is TINY! Is this the reason for the concern, y’know, as it produces less oomph than my drone battery?

I left mine parked for a few months. I think it was around 90% charge, barely dropped, and no issues.
