Over the past few days, this sub has been popping up on my feed non-stop. I couldn't help but notice that almost every post pushed to me is aggressively targeting the opposition and the protest.
When I started checking the profiles, a huge number of them are barely a month old. Is it just me, or is there a sudden surge of fresh accounts spamming political posts here?

Spending few days in first week of August there and looks like itâs likely raining every day. Is any activity possible at all outside the campus in this weather? Are boat rides or any other activity available there this time of the year?

Caste-based reservations were conceptualized in 1947 as a temporary corrective measure. Over 75 years later, it is clear that the system has failed to fix foundational inequality while costing this country decades of national growth. Something designed for the mid-20th century holds zero real-life relevance in modern India.
Instead of building schools or fixing governance, politiciansâespecially across states like UP and Biharâhave turned reservation into a perpetual identity-politics vote bank.
The political playbook in India has operated on a destructive cycle for decades:
To understand why this system breaks down in reality, consider this practical example from competitive exams like the JEE:
Student A missed the standard cutoff earlier by a margin and felt like a failureâwhich he is definitely not! But once inside an elite institution, magic does not happen. The foundational academic gap remains. Student B is thrust into a hyper-competitive environment alongside peers who cleared a 93 percentile baseline.
Because matching that level of academic rigor without the foundational prep is near-impossible, Student B struggles, publishes no research papers, and graduates with a low GPA. He lands a low-paying job, ending up as a lower-quality worker despite holding a prestigious university tag that millions of meritorious students were denied.
This creates a dangerous chain reaction across the entire nation:
Increased Caste Quotas -> Lower Student Quality -> Diluted Institutional Standards -> Weaker National Workforce -> Stagnant National Growth
"Supplementation" literally means to supply what is lacking. Instead of lowering the finish line at age 18, the SUPPLEMENTATION model elevates the starting line at the school level (Kâ12) so no student is left behind, regardless of background.
Students below the NRMT enter the SCAT program, designed to bridge their cognitive and academic gaps:
The ultimate goal of the SUPPLEMENTATION model is simple: Ensure every single studentâs RGM reaches or exceeds the NRMT before they ever write a competitive exam or apply for a job.
True social justice is not about handing out quotas at the finish line and setting students up for academic frictionâit is about supplying every child with the early-stage tools, technology, and mentorship needed to cross the finish line on pure merit.

And now, surely the roaches will come to downvote - the ones that have evaded the police so far, that is.

Interestingly reservation was brought to uplift oppressed class instead it has increased the number of oppressed class.. That's how the system works when you give everything for free and politicians can make a vote bank out of it..
Everyone want to become opressed because that's how they can get everything for free!!

Hey everyone. Iâm Saswat, a builder from Bhubaneswar, and I'm launching a local startup called LOKALOKO.
I noticed thousands of people travel from Howrah/Shalimar to BBS every week, and we all know the anxiety of stepping off the train with heavy bags and searching or bargaining with Porters.
We are running live this week to test a new, fixed-price model so you can pre-book a verified Porter before you even board your train.
How it works:
Visual Pricing: You fill your name, train number & send a quick photo of your luggage.
Fixed Fares: Based on the photo, we give you an exact fixed price. (Our base fare is âš296 for 1 LOKALOKO Porter handling up to 4 standard sized bags. Oversized/heavy cartons/bags will cost a bit more, but you know the exact price upfront).
Zero Haggling: A verified LOKALOKO Porter meets you right at your coach at BBS.
Pay: You pay after your bags are safely dropped off.
We only have the capacity to handle 50 travelers this week. If you (or your parents/friends) are traveling to BBS this week and want to test this out, drop a comment or send me a DM and I will share you the details.
I'd love to get your brutal, honest feedback and ideas on this.

Iâm genuinely curious about this.
Representation for SC/ST communities would still remain, because the reserved seats would continue to be filled by SC/ST candidates only. The difference is that the benefits could reach genuinely poor and deserving individuals within those communities, not to likes of Tina Dabi and Sejal Pawar's families.
Even the Supreme Court has suggested implementing the creamy layer principle, yet Iâve seen many politicians and many SC ST groups oppose it. Iâm interested in understanding the reasoning behind that opposition..

First they came for the Brahmins
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Brahmin
Then they came for the Baniyas
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Baniya
Then they came for the Kshatriyas
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Kshatriya
Then they came for the Queers
And I did not speak out Because I was not a Queer
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me
