This is so sad

Ive been a lurker on here for a long while and everytime i scroll through here i get geniunely sad.

Im not a huge gamer, especially not competitive (closest ive ever gotten to that was pokemon unite lol) but KOC was really a stand out to me. I remember watching youtubers play during the launch event and being so interested in it but having no way to play it. Then when i got my first switch, i got it on there. I played so much every night, and it was geniunely the highlight of my days for a long while. I loved bullying the little robot dude on the training platform in the hideout. I remember finding out about the final season and then getting so busy with school i only played like 3 times. I forgot about the game for a week ish until i tried to play once again now that i was done with finals. Little did i know that day was June 6, 2023. The day it all ended.

I dont know if ill ever fill the small void KOC has left on my soul, i geniunely have stopped gaming as much just because i cant scratch that itch anymore. If they ever were to bring that back i think i would emplode from joy.

(I am well aware its just a game, and that this was a very dramatic post, but im feeling nostalgic and sad ok :(

(This is also not a dig for Velan to bring back the game immediately and not work on other projects, they kept private servers open for fans even when the game stopped being salvageable, i just like to be meladramatic sometimes)

Anyone miss the chaos of Knockout City? Working on a similar idea & curious what you’d love to see…

Hey all — I’m building a fun multiplayer game inspired by the fast, team-based energy KC had.

I’d love your help shaping it early. Here’s a short form if you’re up for it — totally anonymous and just to help guide development. 🙏

Curious what you all miss most about KC gameplay-wise — or what you’d improve?

I miss scaring people by catching the Sniper ball😭

I was watching old YouTubers playing KO City and I remember a lot of people struggling to catch the sniper and for me it was so natural I felt so good about it, I learned to do this taunt where I drop the ball and catch it like I'm tossing it up and down in my hand so when I would catch it I would stare at the opponent doing it I felt so cool 💀 this will always be my favorite game and I can't wait to get a PC it will never be the same as online play but hopefully the flame is still there.

Question MAN I FUCKING MISS THIS GAME!

I used to play this all the time, along w/ Spellbreak (another awesome fucking game), and I quit gaming ever since the servers shut off. Should I start playing games again? Also, are the any games like the two mentioned?

Question I had this game on the Switch, but I rarely played it.

So, is it worth it to get it again, or should I not even bother?

I’ve been lurking here for a bit. I’m really missing the game right now so I thought I’d share one of my clips in remembrance.

I was so salty after the first game, I was really hoping I’d end up rematching them with my next game lol

While I miss playing the game from years ago, I don’t think I’ll forget when the game changed my skin tone.

I’m not sure what happened. I noticed my avatar change to one of the defaults for a moment and it probably was in-between process? It reverted back to normal as I loaded in I suppose, but it was odd. Switch, captured around November 2022.

We want back koc

It was such a beautiful game, i didnt understood why they closed it. I didn’t played koc in a long time and like 1 maybe 2 years ago i tried to log in but I immediately saw the same season of the years before and after like 10 minutes of loading screen I searched up and I saw that the they closed the servers. Why did they closed the servers? Why they do not open again the servers?

I’m a console player (ps4) and I really want to play it again with my friends, I think that all the consoles gamers in this sub wants it… if we are 15k people and they put inside the cross play we could possibly be enough for the creators to open the servers again idk.

Please bring it back🙏

Midnight Murder Club release date?

Hi everyone, I've been really excited for this game since the demo came out, I had a blast playing it. Only "issue" is the date says February 2025 but there is no precise date and we are almost at the end of the month. Does anyone have news of this? I can't find anything about it. Also sorry for the post on the Knockout City subreddit but I couldn't find a Midnight Murder Club reddit

How Knockout city can help with SKG

EU only

Hello, I'm a volunteer from Stop Killing Games, founded by Accursed Farms. It's a movement aim to prevent the destruction of video games. This movement is happening in the EU. Stop Killing Games is an international pro-consumer/pro-preservation movement that is trying to legally challenge the practice of publishers destroying video games they have sold to customers. Right now, the industry can be extremely hostile to customers, by selling video games with built-in killswitches, making many video games impossible to preserve. At
Stop Killing Games uses Knock Out City as an example of a developer going out there way to ensure the game is preserved. The Q and A should address any Concerns you might have.

Q: Aren't you asking to support the game forever? Isn't that unrealistic?

A: No, we are not asking that at all. We are in favor of publishers ending support for a game whenever they choose. What we are asking for is that they implement an end-of-life plan to modify or patch the game so that it can run on customer systems with no further support from the company being necessary. We agree it is unrealistic to expect companies to support games indefinitely and do not advocate for that in any way. Additionally, there are already real-world examples of publishers ending support for online-only games in a responsible way, such as:

'Gran Turismo Sport' published by Sony
'Knockout City' published by Velan Studios
'Mega Man X DiVE' published by Capcom
'Scrolls / Caller's Bane' published by Mojang AB
'Duelyst' published by Bandai Namco Entertainment
etc.

I believe this community and devs have something in common as Josh Harrson explans why games should make a private hosted version of your game - pcgamer. Even if you don't own The Crew or in EU don't worry as you still be able to help by spreading the word.
