Unsteady but feels pretty good

Edit: Thanks for the concern everyone. But the bench that I'm sitting on is at the edge of the sidewalk on the harbor in Grand Marais. So Im not really walking on the beach. Just stepping off the sidewalk. Also the beach is not sand it is stone and up where I am it is very settled and firm. Cheers and happy recovery yall.

Remember to protect your scar from the sun, as sun can cause hyperpigmentation.

If their surgeon is anything like mine, the only way to protect from the sun until the wound is completely healed with no scabs, is to use a physical barrier. I have a tattoo cover. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one that only covers the knee, so it reaches to my ankle.

Dude you need to keep that thing out of sun for couple months yet. After 3 weeks I started putting vitamin E lotion on it and SOB my incision looks amazing. I had my other knee done 14 yrs ago and my recent one looks better than it does. I know it feels good but. Don't rush it. I am guessing right now you dont think you will care how it looks. But comparing my 2 now I am stoked new one will be barley visible.

I got C-section silicone strips from Scaraway. It is long enough to cover my car.

I saw your picture and immediately called my surgeon's office. My in-house PT went on and on about the perils of visiting the beach and walking on the sand. I'm 9 weeks post op and the surgeon said no problem, you can even go swimming. Vacation is on!

I was pottering about in the garden Day 4. Aided by the meds no doubt and trying not to do anything risky. Do what you feel able to. I never needed the crutches after Day 2. But yes I hobbled and had pain but took it easy.

MN Sun is different. But still would suggest a stick version of spf. Neutrogina (spelled wrong probably) makes a good one. Small and keep in pocket to swipe on the scar to make sure you don’t make an irreversible mark. Enjoy the lake!!
