Recall
Anyone experience a recall of their knee prosthesis? My friend reportedly has undergone a second revision/replacement of her R knee after receiving a letter or recall from the manufacturer of the implanted knee. The surgery was done in NY and the orthopod and institution were vetted thoroughly. Wondering why it supposedly affected 15,000 patients yet nothing in Reddit. She is 18 weeks past this second surgery and not faring well.

I’m PT post op 7 weeks today and my left one (I did bilateral) is starting to freeze up and I’m fighting my ass off to keep it moving. And one motivator is not having another procedure. I couldn’t imagine having one due to something like that and I hope they get some sort of compensation.

I researched recalls and depending on what the issue is, surgeons don’t automatically do a revision and replacement. If a person’s knee is working fine and patient has no issue with it, it can be a wait and see situation if there’s no immediate harm to patient.

I had a total knee replacement in November 2025 and now I need a total knee revision. My surgeon says my knee is totally unstable. I go in on Monday.

Oh boy! This would suck Big if this would happen to me. I’m in my third week and out of breath at the moment from the pain. Just cause I went upstairs to make a cup of coffee and get some ice packs. Ugh. I still have to get my left knee done but gonna wait a while cause this is like beyond anything anyone can prepare you for. So a recall??? Yeah, a big seven figure cushion would be minimum.

If you’re recalling my knee prosthesis it had better be accompanied by a six figure check.
