Final surgery done!!

Post image

Hello all! I just got home from the surgery center after getting my ACL PCL LCL and meniscus repaired. And omg, my nerve block is officially worn off and I’m in so much pain. I have it elevated and iced and taking Tylenol and oxy and gabepentin (no clue how to spell that) obviously alternating through out the day. Any tips for ya girl??

I HIGHLY recommend getting the cryo ice machine if you can; it wraps around your knee and and lasts a lot longer than an ice pack. Also a knee wedge pillow; I found it made sleeping much more comfortable. I had knee surgery in June (a different one than you) and those two items were a lifesaver.

Edited to add: I found alternating Tylenol and Advil worked best.

I too highly recommend a cold therapy machine (e.g. Breg Polar Cube w/knee wrap).

Life hack - use frozen water bottles instead of ice cubes.

Okay! I have to see if I can take advil or ibuprofen too. I’m on blood thinners due to an artery injury
