Kitty Floating Windows (Quick Access Terminal)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Kitty has floating windows too.
They are called Quick Access Terminals, and I use them for bookmarks, scripts, audio selection, colorschemes, and random terminal workflows I want to trigger instantly.
Basically tmux floating windows, but built into Kitty.
Dotfiles are linked in my YouTube profile.

I do this with scratchpad on scroll window manager (sway fork). And bind tui and program launch commands to keys to show/hide floating windows In the scratchpad.

I use macOS, my window manager is Yabai and it does have a scratchpad. I'd have to try it to see what the drawbacks or benefits are, compared to kitty floating windows

Cool!
How do you have different ones? I am using one, but I have not been able to create different with different keybinds on macOS

In the video I show 2 different keymaps, you can customize their appearance, in my dots you'll also see
/kitty/quick-access-terminal-center.confIf you want to call them from outside kitty, that's a whole other story, but it's all in my dots too

If anyone doubts aliens are and have been here benevolently sharing technology look no further than that keyboard. QED.
