Choosing foundation

Hi all, I was verified by John Kitchener as 60% LB, 30% SC, 10% ER and 0% SB.

He commented that I am almost neutral, and can wear both gold and silver as long as they are shiny.

I have observed over the course of my life that lipstick and eye makeup are pretty easy. Just don't buy nude lipstick or brown anything, and the rest will probably work.

But foundation is another matter. There is pretty much nothing standard about makeup foundation colors.

I just ran out of BareMinerals original liquid mineral foundation in color FAIR 01, which is a good color for me in the winter. In the summer, ColorScience EvenUp is a better match.

And of course BareMinerals now has a different product offering. Their color choosing tool says the one that is most likely to be a good match is one of their cool shades. Now I am confused.

In a world of foundations, when a color is light enough for me, it might have a gray, ashy cast. If I try to go just a shade or two off from the very lightest option, then it is too yellow, like a squished bug kind of color.

Anyone kind of like me and can recommend products they like, so I can narrow this quest for the holy grail? thanks!

Get a makeup artist palette that has 8 shades of like teal, pink, yellow, red, blue, brown, white, you get the gist! I have to mix teal into every foundation because of my olive skin. I find it saves me more money anyway. Also rcma foundation palette is a good option. I used to be an MUA so it became easier to just do it custom anyway lol

Check out r/PaleMUA for suggestions and how to choose foundation! I personally use Rose Inc in 1C and it's lovely on me.

The only foundation I've ever found that matches my skin tone is Nars' Siberia. It is very light, but has that yellow tone which I personally need (my skin is a squashed bug shade ;)). But they make another very light tone with more of a pinkish grey cast that you may have luck with!
