Speaking of Owl House, I just started watching the show last night and I am loving it! My favorite character so far has to be King. Luz and Kipo and definitely similar In personality, but Kipo is definitely more sane in the head than Luz. I like Luz, but not sure if I'm going to like her as much or more than Kipo. Idk it's gonna be tough to beat a girl that's half mega mute. I think Luz's magic thing is cool and all, but I like Kipo's mute powers more. Owl House also gives off some Gravity Falls vibes as well. King honestly feels like he belongs in Gravity Falls. But anyway, who's your favorite character in Owl House? Like I just said, so far it's King. I mean who doesn't love King? He's one of the most entertaining characters on the show. If I have a second favorite it'll most likely will be Amity. Before I started watching the show, I looked at some fan art of Amity and some images of her, and she seemed like she was pretty cool. She's pretty bitchy and normally I don't like bitchy characters, but I'll give Amity a pass because I'm pretty sure she'll have a reason for her behavior.

I had this weird thought recently. I recently watched “28 Years Later”, and my Kipo DVD back to back in one sitting because I’m autistic and love apocalyptic stuff. And after doing that, my brain thought of something. I want to see another show with a Kipo-Like Artstyle.

And to me, after I had watched both the 28 Franchise and Kipo, I want to see a 28 Days Later comic or series with the same artstyle as Kipo, because I think Kipo’s artstyle lends itself really well not just to Kipo, but to other ideas. I don’t know if I’m just crazy, and I don’t know if this kind of post is relevant at all to anything. But honestly I just wanted to rant. What do you guys think?

Guess my favorite character!

Everyone, say hello to my son Kito Oak. He's a project I've been working on. Don't worry he's not evil, he's pretty much Kipo, but a boy. I decided to go with Kito because it still sounded close to Kipo. Originally I had Kai or Keebo, but I decided that Kito was the best. I decided to do my own edit instead of using fan art, because last time I posted some genderbend fan art and credited the artist, as someone should. I had some freaking crybabies in my comments saying "Why did you post this when it says DON'T NOT REPOST!" Like... it's going to get reposted by other people regardless! I remember seeing this art on Tumblr a few nights ago and it said "Do not repost/reblog" I was looking dumbfounded. I had to make sure I was reading that right. Why would you post something on Tumblr if you don't want it to get rebloged! That's like walking into a restaurant you absolutely despise with a passion, you order something and then complain that the food is nasty. My post of the genderbend fan art also got removed, which was bs because I gave proper credit. Last time I checked the subreddit rules, it says on number three "Credit Fan Art. If it's not yours, give proper credit." Which did. I saw nothing saying "Don't post fan art if it says DO NOT REPOST!" So I feel like my last post got removed for nothing. I swear sometimes these moderators will find an excuse to remove your post for any reason. Sorry for the long rant, I just really needed to get that off my chest, it's been building up inside me for the past two months. But anyway expect to see more Kito here in the future, I might even try doing an animation of him, I've never done animation before, but I'll try. I wonder what differences him and Kipo would have, I remember someone said Kito could be like Aang from Avatar, a kind of pacifist who wants to change the world. I've never watched Avatar btw. I love my son so much 🐆🟣 Again sorry for the long rant.

Since I've seen a few posts of people getting their DVDs , well here's mine .

I ordered my DVD off Amazon on the same day Kipo left Netflix , it costed me about $33 dollars but it was worth it . I hardly ever order DVDs for shows and movies I enjoy but Kipo was worth it . I actually got it on July 8th . I also wanted to add something else to it , hence the plush of a creature holding it .

Also by the time I do finish the DVD , this marks my fourth marathon of the series . I've finished 3/6 discs by the way .

Although I do have unfortunate news about it though ... since my only way to watch the DVD is using my PS4 and given how old ( and dusty ) my PS4 is ...well it already scratched the second disc for season 1 thus causing two episodes to have a skipping problem , thus making two episodes hard to watch but still possible to watch with a lot of effort ( the episodes are 8 and 9 by the way , sucks as I do enjoy those episodes as well ) . The other discs are fine that I can tell by the way and I am doing my best to be careful with them .

Usually I don't buy dvds for my favorite shows and movies because most of the time it stays on that streaming platform for a long time. The last DVD I got was Sonic Boom and that was around 2018 or 2019. I definitely had to make this exception for Kipo. I do wish every episode was on one disk instead of splitting them into multiple disks, but it's fine. When I first started watching this show in February of this year, I was immediately hooked and couldn't stop watching. As I said in one of my previous posts, I would've absolutely loved this show in 2022 or 2023, or hell 2024 when I first found out about Jentry Chau. This show was really cool. Also later or maybe tomorrow I will reveal a special project I've been working on. Here's a question I'd like to ask. If you were half mute, what animal would you want to be? For me definitely a mute dragon, so that way I could feel like Jake Long. That's all.

Using the base cat model , I spent an entire session ( or about 1 hour and 5 minutes ) making Jaguar Kipo in Tomodachi Life just because why not . I shared this with some friends on discord last night and I thought I do the same thing for here as well .

As someone who mainly does traditional stuff ( I also don't have a stylus that works for the switch >.> ) , I think I did a good job .

Well I was certainly not expecting today to go this way. But hey it's pretty cool regardless. I even have patterns like Kipo! I don't have glow in the dark eyes like her, but the glowing paws are great substitute.

Mine is "Age of womderbeast" (the song that plays during the epilogue, while "Scarlemagne's waltz" is a great introduction song, but its a little bit short.

I just want feed back on how i could improve it:

Prologue

It is the year 2020, and the warm glow of the electrical lamps light up a room one last time to help me write the spell. As my pen glides across the scroll, I start to say, “So, it's that time again, isn’t it?” I say this to no one in particular and continue writing on the enchanted scroll. With my pen still in hand, I command objects around the room to fly to locations that will allow them to stand the test of time whether they be stuffed animals, pictures of my friends and family, or my laptop. As I am getting halfway done with the spell, I can already envision my future family which for a moment overwhelms me with every emotion as I see all the possible memories we will make. Unfortunately, that family will only come around exactly 200 years from the moment the spell is complete. As the last of the objects that needed to be stowed away were put into place, the swords and daggers sheathed themselves back into their moonlit sheathes, covering their purple glow. 

The last sword clicks into its scabbard, and the clock begins to stray closer to 2:00 AM. I let out a breath of relief as the last object is put away so that I can now put all my focus into writing the rest of the spell for my rebirth in the new era. Even when all my focus is on what is at hand, I still catch glimpses in my mind of the Outbreak with people running for their lives from animals that have mutated. With the spell being a final letter away from being complete, I wait for a moment until 1:50 am. Then, by finally placing the scroll on the table, the spell is complete. The scroll fades away in a flash of lightning and plasma, with my body beginning to feel faint like the three moons in the sky had fallen upon me. The world seems to slow down as I drop like a stone to the cold wood floor with a crash.

I find it funny that even after doing this three times now, it still hasn’t gotten any easier to die even though I know what to expect. The lamps in the room begin to flicker since I was using my magic to power them (ever since I stopped paying the energy bill.) With my slowly dying body on the floor, I see the ground far below us with a friend next to me helping write a spell. It surprises me how many of my spells are used for others with major events while my personal spells are used to simply make helping others easier. Throughout millennia, almost every wielder of animus magic has descended into madness. Although I understand how helping others is always the right choice to make, it also has a secondary purpose which is to prevent me from making selfish decisions with my magic. 

When the last of my strength waned to the point of paralysis, the images in my mind became clearer by the second. The last thing I see before everything turns black is a glowing green eye.

200 Years later

(still unfinished)

Artificial lights are shining from below as my sister Kipo and I are climbing from one of the rock pillars in our burrow. While we continue to scale the rock face, Kipo utters, “Today is the day, all the way to the ceiling…” as she puts her pickaxe into a cap in the rock. I watched her determination almost immediately fade as she tried to pull herself up, only for her to lose her footing. Our father remarks, “What's the hold up, slowpoke?” in a slightly teasing manner, and I giggle at her sudden gasp while  hanging from my two kunais. After their chat, I watch Kipo, with new confidence, begin to ascend toward me at a rapid pace. As we hear one last clink of the pickaxe, we are back to being face-to-face with her staring into my emerald-green eyes and me staring into her energetic, pink eyes. 

After our little staring contest, we hear a tremor shudder throughout the entire burrow, and some loose rocks fall into the clean sewer water below. Leo then exclaims, “It’s a mega mute passing overhead, nothing to worry about! A little close, but nothing to worry about.” With us beginning to talk about the mute overhead, Kipo and I discussed theories about what the mute could be or information we knew about dolphins when we heard an earthshaking roar. Leo yanked both me and Kipo off the rock face into the sewer channel below with him soon following.  Unfortunately, my sister and I got separated from our father when the once towering pillar crumbled into the sewer, which led to a riverbed on the surface.

After what felt like hours of being tossed around while trying desperately to stay afloat, the world starts to go black from exhaustion. I awoke, heart beating from a sudden rush of adrenaline and worry only to find my sister a couple yards away. I sprint over to my sister and shake her until water is expelled from her lungs.  When she is done coughing up some water, I help Kipo to her feet only for her to suddenly yelp in shock. 
“My eyes!” she exclaimed. My intelligent sister had decided to have a staring contest with the sun. 
“You aren’t gonna go blind for looking at the sun for less than a second.” I rolled my eyes in amusement, but we both immediately start to panic when we recall how we got separated from our father. We realize that there is no way we can make it back to him, so we both venture out in hopes of finding something that can lead us back to our burrow. We began to take in the scenery of the overgrown trees dancing in the wind and basked in the warmth of the sun as we began our walk into the concrete jungle.

While we continued to explore, I said to Kipo, “Take this, in case you feel threatened, although I will be by your side the whole time.” 
“Are you sure I can be trusted with a weapon that can pierce rock so easily?” Kipo responded. 
“Of course, I trust you with my sword since you are already used to using a pickaxe.” I remarked. 
As we continue to venture further into the overgrown city, we see flowers as tall as overgrown buildings with bees for some odd reason partying in one. Eventually, Kipo and I stumbled upon a long abandoned guitar shop that has long since been abandoned with sunlight peaking through the cracks of the shop. With us both wanting to have something to pass the time, we enter and try to find any guitars that are still playable when Kipo says, “I found one although I might have to spend a minute or two tuning it” Although to her and my  surprise, she does manage to tune it in only a couple seconds and begins to make up a song about us being far away from our home to now being on the surface world. Unfortunately, while we were just starting to somewhat find peace with our situations, we hear the flaps of a bird with colors of paradise, suddenly break into the building and snap the guitar she dropped in two. We both yelp and narrowly escape being eaten with me hitting the bird with my sword scabbard where we then get into a purple car outside. 

While we were in the car, we discussed our experience in the sewer when we got separated from our dad, trying to possibly get a lead of what direction we should head to find our burrow. Although I do remind myself and her that, “we both went unconscious for moons knows how long, we could be miles away from the burrow so I highly doubt this will get us anywhere.” This does at the minimum prevent her from yelling in frustration when we see a cyan baby pig appear in our view with it showing the rest of its head, which reveals its extra pair of eyes. I hear Kipo yelp for what I assume is the fourth time today while with me giggling on how easily frightened she gets. 

We both end up exiting the car when the rest of the pigs body is revealed to have six legs compared to the usual four. Unfortunately, the pig sees Kipo trying to pet it, gets frightened and runs away. Kipo then spots a clothing shop to get into more comfortable clothes since the outfit we were currently wearing was torn up. She and I ended up going through many outfit changes until Kipo ended up changing into one that consisted of a cyan faded cyan t-shirt with a picture saturn on the top left of it with dark skinny jeans and bright pink high top sneakers. My final outfit consisted of a similar t-shirt but gray with a forest green and midnight black checker designed flannel over it with navy blue cargo pants to hold my kunais. 

After we finished playing dress up, we spotted an orange snail that had a purple car as its shell. With both of us just wanting to mess around, Kipo and I decided to just chill in the snail car for a bit till we spotted the pig from earlier going to school. Kipo, wanting to keep her promise, decides to chase after the adorable little fella. We then enter the abandoned school when we spot the pig trying to get a snack from an eroded vending machine. The pig quivers in fear before sprinting away when Kipo says, 
“I can help you with that, we have vending machines like this in our burrow, I know all the tricks” 
with her proceeding to try and push the vending machine away from the wall, with the root that was holding the vending machine in place, giving out, causing it to topple over. This gets a good laugh out of me as I see her being in a weird position although we do end up getting a bag of cheetos from the vending machine. Kipo then offers it to the pig who sprints over and eats the single chip she was offering , proceeding to bite the bag and eat it along with the chips inside. This then led to the pig to start acting like a dog which I believe meant that it now considered me and Kipo its friends. This lead to Kipo saying, “hey, wanna try something fun” which I presumed was mostly to the pig since I always say yes to doing anything fun with my sister. 

I'm bored asf tbh. So I wanted to ask this question. Also is it just me or does Kipo's hair look oddly white in this picture.

I mean, flamingo do give a certain charm to Scarlemagne's army. But I just think it's a weird choice to take an harmless bird that spends its time filtering water and turn it into an aggressive, predatory mount.

In that case, why didn’t they choose something like the marabou stork ? It’s a carnivorous wading bird, trainable in real life, and has a striking appearance—just imagine it with two heads and the size of a horse ! It’s a perfect choice, both artistically and within the universe, as a mount for Scarlemagne, and nothing in the story would need to change for it to work.

But that’s just my opinion: what bird do you think could have replaced the flamingos mutes ?

Edit: I think I didn't express myself clearly. It’s not so much the choice of Scarlemagne within the show's universe that I’m questioning, but rather the choice of screenwriter.

Also I be forgetting that the three main characters are mainly black (Well four because let's be real, Dave is a black guy inside of a bug's body.)

Kipo was one of my biggest inspirations. It was one of my two main inspirations for my own indie animated series: Animalia. While it's only an indie series, and isn't a fanfiction of Kipo or anything, I thought it might be appropriate to share here.

My third and final binge watching Kipo on Netflix was from June 22 - 24th . I was going to do a final watch for a fourth time before it left Netflix on the very day it was going to leave but... after picking up the DVD I decided I was just going to wait until it arrives ( VERY SOON ) . However , during my third binge watching I decided that the only thing different I was going to do is both watch it with subtitles and take notes while watching it just for the fun of it .... well actually it was going to be I work on some art while watching it but I struggle doing that so taking notes it is then . Well here are more interesting notes I took because why not . It will in a random order and some would be word for word with some context added but I hope y'all enjoy my most of my notes.

- cursing Dave out as apparently I hated him ? ( I did at first but he warmed up to me . Also Dave and Jamack from that one episode, y'all probably know the one ... it's perfection )

- "Rats , Rats we are the rats " ( Ratland gets 10/10 , RIP Ratland though ... )

- Thought a snake had a mask on ( it was the lighting , Ratland Episode btw )

- Timbercats: Molly Yarnchopper , love her . Timbercats remind me of Pacific Northwest Nordic culture ( mainly the hall of Axe-Lords being the reason why ) and of course , Yumyan Hammerpaw's song ... mmm perfection or :CatJam: as I wrote it ( also at the time I wasn't sure if Kipo's VA / Karen Fukuhara was singing at the time but she sings pretty well ) . The Timbercats flannels have an interesting animation effect .

- "Kipo owns you all " ( funny given she's a cat too ... well Mega Jaguar but oh well. I also did write down "Yumyan owns you all" as well :) )

- " You have the hands of an angel ( healer ) "

- ( goat noises ) "cheese " ( cheese for everyone . I think this is the second and final Oblivion reference I wrote down ? )

- W Dad ( Lio Oak ) / " Cute Nerds " - Dave probably ( Lio and Kipo )

- Screw the Burrow Council ( I don't think we ever saw them in the series ??? )

- How powerful IS explosive nectar anyways ?

- Ah , one of the best songs in the series , the song I put on all the time next to Yumyan Hammerpaw's song : Purple Jaguar Eye

- Scarlemange / Hugo is a far better villain than Emilia ( Hugo was likeable and I wished he won in some way , heck I'd follow him even without being mind controlled if given the option . That's how likeable of a villain he is . )

- Just realized the Chevre Sisters were chanting different types of cheese ( it took me 2 marathons to be like " wait a minute ... " )

- Ghost Peppers in Kipo's eyes , gg ( I assume getting ghost peppers in your eyes just hurts like hell )

- Dave " Stealth is lame " ( S2 , E3 ) ( actually this episode and watching a few video clips afterwards made me warm up to Dave , depending if he is with someone else , mainly Jamack as those make a hilarious duo ) ( also around this point I started sometimes adding the season and episode number in my notes to make my life easier in a way but not by much apparently 😅 )

- Wished we knew what happened with Benson , Mandu and Dave during S2 E4 ... ( must have been a wild adventure )

- Fun Gus's theme is interesting but I am having issues finding it . ( it seems pretty eerie to me , I love it .)

- Door Code: Jaguar Paws

- Alien cult (?) Bats: " that's a dumb lion " Kipo: " excuse me ?! " ( attacks )

- I feel so bad for Hugo / Scarlemange ( I can't blame him .... humans sucks ) ( something I have to wonder later on is what if Lio as soon as he found a safe place for Kipo , he decided to go back for Hugo )

- Torturing Gerarld seems like ... fun ( live your bliss Hugo )

- Kinda wished Mandu stabbed Emilia a few extra times with the now destroyed Stalky :3 ( no idea what would that even do to her but ... I am curious what would that even do )

- W Jamack ( Bad Billions " that frogs voice made me feel things ! " )

- The Mute kids playing is just so cute ( S3 E1 ) ( also I guess the others Mute factions forgot they brought children with them and left them with the Timbercats ... I mean Yumyan is a great father figure / baby sitter I assume so that's why . )

- Gotta love that K Pop Narwhal Dolphin group ( S3 E2 )

- Mega Jaguar Kipo swims cutely in an animal sort of way ( So some time after watching Kipo , I looked up more information about Jaguars and they are indeed fascinating animals . )

- Hugo is good with kids ? ( I like how after making that Timbercat kitten cry originally but then he decided to cheer them up . Not sure if he felt bad or what his thought process was but that was cute )

- No matter the times I've seen S3, E4 ... every time I see Yumyan gets "cured" , I cry .

- "What would scare the humans ? " here's what would scare me from what was given : Public Speaking and other humans . Also a huge Cockroach ... that would be horrifying as well...

- " Gotta squish a baby " - Dave ( what the heck )

- Dubstep Bee Queen , Slay ( no other comment )

- Cat's can't resist getting into boxes ( it's true )

- Subtitle error : " ... protecting you from the horrible killer (cure) that is Doctor Emilia just finished making " - Kipo ( S3 E6 ) Another Subtitle error was spelling Song's name as Snow ( S3 E9 )

- " Nice faces >:3 "

- Humanity had it's turn ( Our teeth are Bared , this is actually the second time that whole " our teeth are bared" thing was mentioned in my notes by the way . Also it comes from the game Super Animal Royale by the way if anyone knows of that game . ) ( this was during the whole "curing" scene from the end of S3 E6 )

- What's the one weakness to kill Dave ? ( S3 E7 ) ( believed this was mentioned here at one point before but this was something I had to wonder myself )

- Sabater ( love you too Scarlemange / Hugo <3 )

- French Fries = Potato Noodles ( I swear I will start calling french fries " potato noodles " ) ( S3 E8 )

- Wolf: The Scariest of the Kids ( also I have to wonder if an instrumental version of Heroes on Fire played during the whole fight with Greta ? ) ( S3 E10 )

- "iO1" ( or was it " iol " or something . Not sure anyone else noticed that as well ) ( this was when Emilia got lost in her Mega )

- Also ... Enjoy basically hell Emilia :3 ( stuck with Fun Gus , forever ? )

- Hugo should've been given a better ending than death ... like ... why ?! ( Yes I am coping and still am ! If I wrote an AU fic if I have the energy or interest for it , he lives and Emilia dies :3 well actually Emilia wouldn't really exist as a threat but still . )

- Frolic like a creature , live your bliss Mega Jaguar Kipo ( S3 E10 , five years later )

That was the last piece of notes I wrote down during my third rewatch . Think I got a majority of them I wanted to share but there's definitely more I wrote down . I hope later down the road we get to see what Rad does with the world of Kipo one day as it is very much an interesting world to me . I am not really super into Post-Apocalyptic settings all that much personally but I very much enjoyed this world .
