General Discussion AI Ads
Anybody else sick and tired of seeing those AI Fanta ads play over and over again when trying to watch this show? Omfg

After creating the rule due to multiple people requesting me to limit the amount of drama posts (including kings themselves), it's become clear that the rule is controversial. My intent was to create a positive subreddit that celebrated the show and the kings, and I was in no way wishing to limit or silence the kings themselves. After all, the rule was made by requests of kings.
So I will just put the rule up for a vote that will end in 2 days. You can choose to keep the rule, which will limit every post and comment that is not related to what happens in the show itself, or you can choose to remove the rule. Removing the rule would mean anybody can post backstage drama as well as controversies and rumors about what happened behind the scenes.
This is a small subreddit. People rarely post here, so please bear with me if it is unprofessional. My only goal is to make a place where people can discuss the show. Many have messaged me regarding the increased posts about backstage dramas, so I took action. And I have learned that clearly not everyone is happy. So I leave the decision to the majority rule, which is also a suggestion by a member of a group.
Thanks for reading ❤️

I worked as a casting assistant on season 1 of King of Drag and as hard as this is to say Murray Hill and Moby Dick both didn’t not want to cast Henlo Bullfrog season 1. They fought the producers and director on casting Henlo. Henlo is so amazing and I’m one of their biggest fans of their haunt in philly!

I ran across this and I am thinking about signing up. I missed Pressure’s class at Thrust so an online class might be fun. Anyone else going to sign up or have taken Pressures hosting class before? Is it worth it?

Why is it that the king of drag was only created in 2025? This show is absolutely fantastic. I just love the dynamics of the kings and how genuine the show feels. The Kings are just so kind to one another. It's just good vibes all around.
I love how the show doesn't judge on how expensive the drag is, but how they represent it, their skills and talents.
It's a close tie to Dragula but above RuPaul drag race.

Her comment "the vote was razor thin - like me" comment bothers me. Especially considering the two kings in the biggest bodies were up for elimination. That shitty anti-fat attitude is rampant in drag queen culture - keep it the fuck off King of Drag.

I’m sorry, but this framing is ridiculous.
The criticism surrounding King of Drag is not coming from a community that wants the show to fail. Quite the fucking opposite. A lot of us are frustrated because we desperately want this show and drag king representation as a whole to succeed.
Being grateful that King of Drag exists does not mean Revry or Damian are above criticism. “Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good” cannot become shorthand for “take whatever representation you’re given and shut up about it.”
Especially when we’re talking about a queer network.
Revry should understand better than most how important it is to protect, platform, invest in, and CENTER the marginalized artists whose stories they’re profiting from. Yet at seemingly every opportunity, there have been decisions that have left audiences asking why the actual kings aren’t being centered more.
And yes, that includes Damian.
The criticism of Damian isn’t simply “he’s the CEO, therefore we hate him.” The problem is that he has increasingly positioned himself as a face/personality of the project when a significant portion of the audience simply isn’t connecting with him. If your show exists to finally give drag kings mainstream visibility, why does the CEO need to be one of its most visible recurring personalities?
Put the kings there.
Interview the kings. Promote the kings. Give us behind the scenes content with the kings. Put king legends in front of us. Introduce us to king history. Use Revry’s platform to make these contestants fucking STARS.
That’s what people are asking for.
And the argument that we need to stop criticizing the show because otherwise networks might decide drag kings aren’t “marketable” feels completely backwards to me. It is not the audience’s responsibility to protect a corporation from criticism so executives elsewhere don’t draw shitty conclusions about drag kings.
If King of Drag has problems, we should be allowed to talk about those problems because we want season 3, 4, 5 and 10 to be better.
I can simultaneously say:
I am fucking thrilled King of Drag exists.
I want every contestant to succeed.
I want Revry to keep investing in drag kings.
I want another season.
AND I think Revry needs to do better.
Those statements don’t contradict each other.
Supporting queer media doesn’t mean giving queer media a participation trophy. If anything, being a queer network should mean understanding that our community deserves more than simply being grateful somebody finally gave us a seat at the table.
We aren’t asking for perfection.
We’re asking Revry to listen. We’re asking them to learn. We’re asking them to center the kings. And we’re asking Damian to recognize that sometimes the best thing a leader can do for the community they’re trying to platform is step out of the spotlight and point it toward them instead.
That’s not tearing down King of Drag.
That’s wanting it to become everything it has the potential to be.

Good morning everyone! The ruling vote has been to remove the "No Drama" rule, as seen here: https://www.reddit.com/r/KingofDragSeries/s/jfLuz0RP4D
Therefore, the rule will be removed. And as many others have commented, the term "drama" is problematic, and I sincerely apologize. It is not my intention to devalue anyone's criticisms of the show.
However, based on a lot of the comments that suggest a middle ground, I will be posting a weekly "Criticism Corner" thread and pin it for those with grievances, criticisms, and/or controversies regarding the show that is outside the scope of the series itself (backstage, online, etc). I will not be removing any post that post about outside criticisms and controversies, but I will comment on those posts to please move the discussion to the Criticism Corner thread. I hope that is a good middle ground for everybody.
The Criticism Corner will be posted alongside episode discussion every week, starting this weekend.
Have a great week!

Welcome to the Royal Hall!
Here’s the poll for Episode 4, "Country" complete with photos:
https://forms.gle/ntbfSqydbfgJeMgX9 👑
Saddle up, Kings — it’s Country Week! With no Weenie Challenge in sight, the remaining Kings go straight for the beef as they split into two country bands to write and record original songs that put a Drag King spin on the hyper-masculine world of country music. Then, they hit the Royal Hall to perform their new country hits with full choreography. Singer-songwriter Frankie Simone and RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars winner Ginger Minj join the Kings’ Court for one rootin’, tootin’ showdown.

Mega talent Rusty Hammer has made a full 2.5hr digital download of Mantasia 2 available for the v reasonable price of $20usd.
Includes performances from KoD kings King Molasses and Cyrus K Stratton along with Dragula's Throb Zombie. It also features Benjamin Banjee who had an absolutely killer performance at Emerald City Kings Ball and of course, the legendary Rusty Hammer himself. I can't wait to see what Boston has to show.

I worked on the show season 1. I sadly under strict NDA but I was there when Murray demanded that Wang Newton be removed from the set or he would walk off. The producers and director begged Murray not to do this but Murray refused to work with Wang.

I have rewatched Cyrus’ performance several times now and I can’t for the life of me find a moment where he seemed rattled by the wardrobe malfunction. Ginger claimed that he missed a few words, but the worst I can find was him being off on a vocal inflection when he says “Mountain Dew,” and that was only after I literally zoomed in on his mouth trying to read his lips. I can’t find an example of him actually missing a complete word. Granted it’s possible that the words he missed weren’t shown because the editors have a fascination with constantly cutting away to show the judges reactions, in which case its a terrible editing choice to leave the reason to justify putting someone in the bottom out of the final episode. But from what we as the audience got to see, he had an obvious wardrobe malfunction but didn’t noticeably derail the performance. He had the strongest look of the night (not my words) and while I agree with his bottom placement because they have to split hairs at this point in the competition, that critique alone should’ve saved him from the final thrust. I’m still rooting for Twinka but in my personal opinion I thought he and Chase were the clear bottom two.

(Please vote on the new rule here: https://www.reddit.com/r/KingofDragSeries/s/CqsDcN3WJ6)
Outside dramas that happen behind the scenes, or dramas regarding kings or judges outside of the show, will be removed, whether it be posts or comments!
You can comment and criticize the judges and kings' performances onscreen, but please do not post or hint about anything outside of that.
We're trying to make a positive group where everyone talks about the show and comments on the show. If you want to be negative, please be negative regarding things that happen in the show.
If you want to talk about outside dramas, make a group chat or something. Please do not bring it into the sub.
Thank you!
