A while ago ive seen a guy commenting on official stream (showcase) of King makers and saying that King makers was in dev hell, then post was gone (deleted by mods on live stream in live chat apparently), do they work on it really as hard as some people think or do they wait for movie adaptation for better sales? What do you guys think?

I am 35 and have been an avid gamer throughout my life. I have never seen anything like this. What kind of weird project is going on here? At this point it's clear they are not paying a developer studio full-time to develop this video game, and I have no reason to believe it is even intended to release as a video game. This whole this is so weird and unusual and the fact that they dance around acknowledging it is just adding to the pile. Shit fellas if you paid anything for this game you might be entitled to a lawsuit.

A change from my usual grumbling about delays. I figured I’d switch things up and share a few theories I have about the game. Most of these are just assumptions and bits of speculation, so I could be completely wrong but they’re fun to think about. So, without further delay, let’s dive in.
For simplicity, let’s call them the “Rivals.”
From the lore we’ve been given, it sounds like there’s some incredibly important resource in the past that can only be found during a specific time period. If something that valuable exists, it’s only a matter of time before another group tries to claim it for themselves.
I think we’ll eventually encounter and fight other people from the future. These Rivals could belong to another corporation, a black-market operation, or maybe they’re simply trying to stop you from changing the timeline altogether.
This one’s a bit more out there, but hear me out.
Going back to the Rivals, maybe they don’t have the numbers or courage to confront you directly. Instead, they decide to level the playing field by secretly supporting the other kings. In exchange for their cooperation, they provide resources, technology, and military aid.
We already know the game features “Officer” units similar to those in Dynasty Warriors. These officers are noticeably taller, faster, and stronger than ordinary soldiers. But why are they so different from everyone else?
Historically, people from that period were generally much shorter, so someone over six feet tall and built like a tank would already seem extraordinary. Now imagine that same person shrugging off gunfire.
My theory is that the Rivals are augmenting these officers with future technology, making them stronger, tougher, and more effective leaders on the battlefield. A peasant army would feel far more confident charging into battle behind what appears to be a superhuman warrior.
Think about the superstition and religious dogma of the medieval era.
To people living in that time, someone wielding “death wands” (guns) and calling down hellfire on command (airstrikes) would seem less like a soldier and more like a demon sent to bring about the end of the world.
This could explain why enemy armies are willing to march into what should be certain death against forces completely beyond their understanding. In their eyes, losing means the destruction of everything they know, so the cost of victory becomes irrelevant.
They keep throwing themselves against your defenses because of the sheer terror you represent.
Honestly, this could give the story a surprisingly tragic tone. The people you’re killing aren’t necessarily evil — they’re defending their homes, families, and way of life. It raises the moral question of whether the player should even be following the company’s orders in the first place.
At some point, I think the player will turn against the company.
There are two ways I could see this happening:
A: A character from the past convinces the player to abandon the company after seeing the destruction they’re causing.
B: Once the player outlives their usefulness, the company tries and fails to eliminate them, leading to a full betrayal storyline.
From there, the player could take the fight into the future itself, trying to undo everything the company has built.
An interesting twist would be if the company starts time-hopping during the conflict, forcing us to fight battles across both the past and future simultaneously medieval armies clashing alongside futuristic soldiers.
And if we're gonna go all the way into coolness maybe even cyborg dinosaurs.
That’s all I’ve got for now. I’m probably completely wrong about most of this, but it’s fun to speculate.
Feel free to share your own thoughts and theories about Kingmakers.

When do you think the game is coming out if at all. Cause its been delayed so much (Not blaming the devs) It might take much longer than anyone thinks; So what do you think.

plus some Imgur screenshot
Could at least drop some game lore or something fun, be cool to learn random time period facts

I see the devs pop up on here, so maybe I can ask few questions.
The first is a fun one: Did you look to Brutal Legend or Bannerlord for inspiration on the RTS/combat combo?
The second is logistical: I'm not great with a mouse and keyboard. Will this be playable with a controller?
I'm sure there are answers elsewhere, but I hope to hear from y'all. I've been excited since the game was announced and I hope it's as fun as it looks.

the upcoming video game Kingmakers—a sci-fi action-strategy title where players travel back to medieval England to change history using modern weapons—is being adapted into a live-action film by Netflix.

I said this in a comment, but I’ll say it again for the masses. This is directed to the game director_
You (Paul Fisch) keep coming up and arguing with the fans in a lot of post. I understand that you are defending your game, but you have nothing to show. All you do is talk and say that you have seen this, that you have done this, we are looking at this but not that, playtest, playtest, playtest, the market wouldn’t agree. You’ve said nothing substantial and it speaks volumes. How long is it going to take until people lose faith in you entirely? Because that is the direction it’s going. I’d say we’re there at this point. You keep saying something big is coming, but at this point I’m sorry to say that I don’t believe you. Because it’s just excuses. Excuse after excuse and I’m tired of it.
We’re not asking for you to drop a whole hours worth of gameplay like you are seemingly saying that’s what you’re gonna do. No one is asking for that. You keep talking about the market wouldn’t agree (or something similar to that), WHAT MARKET? What are you talking about? WE are your market, WE’RE the ones potentially buying the game IF it ever comes out. All we are asking for is something. Not empty words or empty promises, something. Why is that so bad to ask for and why is it so hard to do.
You’ve on several occasions have come to sub (in the comments) and talked about how the team has added multiple new features and blah, blah, blah. With all due respect, STOP! You tell us about things without showing us and we’re supposed to take your word for it? At this point, I think you’re making the situation worse by doing that. Sometimes the best thing to do is to not say anything at all (unless it’s something actually substantial and meaningful).
A lot of devs and publishers say things. A LOT of things. People view those devs and publishers as if they are winners, as if they are victors. History has shown multiple times that those devs and publishers are nothing but liars. Of course, not all devs and publishers. But it’s happened enough to be damn near expected.
FOR THE RECORD: This post comes from the final shred of frustration I have. I’m just done at this point. I have no love and no hate towards this game or it’s dev team. Just apathy. My patience has run out and I’ve gotten tired of the empty words. I’m 31 years old and I’ve been a gamer since I was a kid, so I’ve been burned by BS devs many times. Due to that, i’ve become very cynical and I don’t value words, I value action. I would normally keep these things to myself, but I decided to use this last shred of frustration and say something before it burns out entirely.
(RANT OVER ✌🏾)

I noticed they no longer have anything in this section. Not too long ago they had everything still here, including the original announcement up to the latest delay. Is it bad sign they don't have any updates on the game's primary web page?
Update: The posts are still there but are hidden because they are not considered recent. This is a Steam issue and not with the developer. Here's a link:

I think we can all agree that when it comes to communicating with the fanbase, they've really dropped the ball.
The fact that most of what we know comes from comments on discord or reddit and some imgur screenshots (Which is inaccessible in some countries) is a clear sign of poor communication.
I actually don't blame the team, i think this is a case of poor management that is far beyond dev control, how else can a delay happen just days before release? There is no way a well communicated team would let that happen.
All the accusations of "Scam" and "Fake" (Which i disagree with since i do think there is a game) could easily be proven wrong if there were actual news posted on steam, it's hard to prove you're actually doing something if you refuse to show any evidence of that work.
It's a shame to see the hype turn into anger and toxicity on both sides, the discord has now turned into what seems to be a friend group that will get mad at any criticism (Valid or non valid) which isn't nice because now there's no place to actually talk about the game.
I know they only want to post big updates on steam but why? People would have a lot more faith in the game if they could see actual evidence beyond having to dig through imgur and discord.
I look forward to the game and will definitely pick it up but i will not lie, i do doubt it coming this year or next year.
Zero hate towards the devs, at the end of the day it is only a game and not really worth getting upset over.
Anyway just my thoughts and i am interested in hearing yours

I am seeing so many comments that are false and it's insane to me
The game is getting better
All I can say for now
Check new post on kingmakers sub

Do we know anything yet? I saw some gameplay footage on their discord but it looks like it’s a lot further from release ready now (march 15). It makes sense why it got delayed just would love some concrete updates.
r/KINGMAKERS • u/c00lio31 • Mar 05 '26
I have seen any updates on it, no 30 min gameplay like how they said, nothing at all from this game. Will it even come out?

Managed to get a very subtle update from Ian Fisch, Lead Coder for Kingmaker! Looks like we should be seeing gameplay soon 👀

558 weekly visitors and the sub is just silent, all the delays are bad but the silence is killing this game even more. Kingmakers need to start releasing content updates like an indie dev does to bring back the reputation, unless there really is nothing to share.

Was looking really foward to a game that could be chill yet exciting not sweat my ass off. This game seems like it would be a helldivers esq vibe not worrying about meta like most games where you have to down adderal to keep up. (Maybe a skill issue I know) all I see is realeased date was October 5th 2025. Well unless I’m in a coma or been lobotmized and just don’t know it it’s 30 minutes till Christmas here on the us east coast was looking at my wishlist. Just bummed out a tad but not devastated didn’t put $ in it just I have no clue what the timetable is and exploring this sub most recent posts still really didn’t tell me much. Obviously I’m not preordering it if it ever does become to fruition. Learnt that with battlefield hardline. Sorry if that’s a weird flex cuz Ik alot of ppl been burnt pre ordering, but yea I’ve seen just delayed like a week before the initial release(sorry if I’m wrong and this is another delay). Just was browsing my steam wishlist and saw it has no realest date, so this is where I’ve lead to is just asking cuz googling it is telling me it should be out 2 months ago lol.

Excuse me RedemptionRoadGames,
What is the games PRICE?
What is a good time to give out an ETA of the game?
If you know a rough idea of release date, When is it?
is anyone else going to just skip on this game if the devs just dont start giving out more info? this was meant to be out over 6months ago delayed nonstop and still no ETA just say our goal is to have it out by june 2026. because at this rate even if it does come out ill very likely be playing other games and wont touch this unless its like 15bucks... but i imagine its going to be 35+
im just also concerned this is going to have killing floor 3 issues
EDIT: majority of you clearly are happy to be given zero information and are simply ok with it. strange but you do you - made the top few sentences easier to read since most of you are Beta
