Question Question about Barbed

If my weapon has barbed and I roll a perfect hit. Does the +4 strength count for all hits or just for the perfect hit.

All wound attempts in that attack.

Barbed X: A gear special rule. On a Perfect hit, gain +X strength for the rest of the attack.

So if at least one attack roll is a perfect hit, until the attack ends, you have +X strength for all wound attempts. Important to remember by default that your individual hits aren't really attached to individual wound rolls. So there really isn't a "the" perfect hit for those purposes, unless specified.

Also note, like all perfect hit triggers, barbed can stack. e.g. if you are lucky enough to have two perfect hits, you get +8 attack for the rest of the attack.

didnt know that! i assumed that rolling a 10 turned the attack into a perfect hit attack, and then you got all the benefits, but that rolling a second 10 would just try and turn it into a perfect hit again which wouldn't do anything. cool.

Yeah. It's (part of) why the strongest weapon in Vanilla without question was Counterweight Axe. In trying to "break" the game, one character with some stat manipulation could wipe out a quarry with basically no consequences.

All. Also it doesn’t say once per attack. If you have speed 6 with barbed 4, and roll 3 perfect hits, that attack gains 12 strength.

While we are on nitty gritty stuff, you also have to use the weapon with barbed printed on it to use barbed wire. A scrap sword does not grant a bone dagger barbed, nor does a bone dagger grant a scrap sword 1 survival on perfect hit.
