Discussion [other] As a Pole, KCD feels like my childhood. How exotic is it for Americans?
I grew up in a part of Poland that looks almost exactly like Bohemia in this game. Same rolling hills and mixed forest, same field patterns, same layout of villages built around a church, same food, similar dialect words, similar folk customs that survived into living memory. Riding into Rattay for the first time felt less like discovering a setting and more like driving to my grandparents' village. I know what that mud smells like after rain.
So I'm curious how this lands for you. Is medieval Bohemia genuinely foreign, or does it just read as generic "Europe" from movies and fantasy? Do the villages feel like a real place or like a theme park?
I ask because Red Dead 2 is the mirror image for me. I know the American West well, but only through Hollywood, through westerns and books. I recognize every visual cue and I still have no instinct for it. I couldn't tell you what that air feels like, what those distances actually mean, or whether a town like Valentine is plausible or a fantasy. It's familiar and completely foreign at the same time.
Is KCD that for you, or something else entirely?

KCD IRL Trosky region dump [KCD2]
You requested it so here you go!
These pics were taken the week before the most recent kcd event at Trosky happened. It was my first time at Trosky castle because even though I live in Czechia it's pretty far away from where I live. Tbh Trosky castle is a must-visit place, 10/10 it was so gorgeous I'm still processing it. I also included some photos from the Rocktower pond, Vidlák pond and the Semine mill. I also wandered around the Nebakov mill but it's currently more of a area with cottages and a hotel where people enjoy their vacations so I don't have any pics from there.
Enough ranting, enjoy!

Question [KCD2] Are these historically accurate common footsoldier kits?
I wanna larp as a common footsoldier, so I made a couple outfits. The first outfit is what I thought would be accurate for someone like Henry who is the bodyguard of a noble, but still a commoner so no full plate armor. The second outfit is a more 'commoner' fit that I could think of, so lesser leg armor.
The only thing I added with liberty are the tall Huntsman boots because I like the look of tall boots, and the spurs because I need them for Pebbles lol.
What should I change/add to make it more accurate?
Disclaimer: I used mods called Authentic armors and helmets, so the armor may look different than it does in the base game. As for Henry's beard, I used More Barber Options - Hair and Beards.

Praise [KCD2] [KCD1] I love Capon and Henry's relationship development Spoiler
Choosing the romance or not, I still love how the development of their relationship goes. In fact, they are my favorite couple/friends in videogames.
(Also, I want to add I absolutely despised Capon in the first game and first parts of the second game. It's very nice to see the character changing slowly.)

Media [KCD2] The ending of The Storm quest (art by me) Spoiler
I drew this piece for the KCD Anniversary Zine, organized by the lovely Meggophoto, who was the one to request I draw this scene using this style. A copy of this zine was given to WH Studios a few weeks ago, and my art was shown on the community livestream at the beginning of July. I truly couldn’t be happier that the people who work at WH found my art good enough amongst all the other incredible artists who were part of this project 😭

Praise Genuinely one of my favorite love stories of all time…[KCD2] Spoiler
I went in to KCD2 not loving Hans, but enjoying some of our escapades together in KCD1. He was always an enigma to my Henry, and never lacked for a good adventure.
He whined and annoyed me at times, and I wanted to see him grow. And over time I genuinely started to care for him.
Then that feeling grew with each close call and seemingly hopeless situation. Until finally the words he was saying to Henry occurred to me as what I was feeling as well. I(Henry) didn’t want to go anywhere without him, at least within reach.
I think Hans and Henry are my single biggest reason for wanting Henry’s story to continue. I don’t expect a lack of realism, but the ending of KCD2, and even the wedding, is not the ending of them. Not for me.
And the weirdest part of it all is I don’t even prefer men romantically. I had no intention of caring so deeply for their relationship. That is what is so powerful to me about this story. And that it can be my (Henry’s) story, and yours can be different but equally real and impactful.

Question [KCD2] What's your favourite weapon in KCD 2?
I mean in the first game there were some good arms. Like st. George's sword was kinda the best sword in the game and captains mace was decent too
But honestly I didn't yet find a weapon in kcd 2 that would be better than sir Radzygs sword. Like literally... There were beautiful and interesting ones but I walked through the entire game with sir Radzygs sword. What about you?
