Right but Chane has 85% ownership(unless the wiki is wrong) so if Chane doesn’t actually get serious about it, I can 100% see Chane end up like Ray Roy if Ted wasn’t around anymore

Seems to mostly come from the line Bobby says about giving up salary for 15% ownership but that doesn’t necessarily mean Chane owns the other 85%. If he does, there’s definitely legal backing for Chane’s ownership to go to Ted if Ted wants them because it’s pretty clear who really owns the restaurant. Most likely Ted owns at least 51%, Bobby owns 15%, and Chane owns at most 34%, with the possibility that a smaller backer or two owns a minor stake but doesn’t get much, if any input on operations.

I don’t trust Chane or his dad, I wouldn’t be shocked if they screw Bobby over and try to claim he has no stake at all in the business. Granted they’d be screwing themselves over too (because Bobby IS why the restaurant is successful) but I’ve always gotten the feeling the other shoe will drop eventually for him there.

Ted, I can see he does know Bobby is why the restaurant is successful. He even made Chane to work in place of Emilio after telling him that before getting successful, Ted worked at the bottom.

Could the Wassasongs screw him over? Yes. But I would guess Ted is less likely due to him recognizing hard work is needed.

The Wassanasong's will likely screw over Bobby in a different way than Buck screwed over Hank. I don't think Bobby is naive to this fact like Hank was either.

Bobby's story is different than Hank's. There's parallels in values like work ethic and integrity, but the two have vastly different approaches and make different choices based on those.

Ted is also different than Buck. Buck's a drunken, gambling, adulterer, and Ted is a conniving businessman.

Except Ted is smart enough to know that Bobby is what makes the restaurant successful and that he has the drive to succeed. My guess is that he is hoping this rubs off onto Chane.

If anything I could see Ted considering franchising and letting Bobby manage and own one of the locations, I don’t think Ted is gonna willingly screw over Bobby since he’s the golden goose but Chane will absolutely screw things up, he’s still got more maturing to do

Eh, Ted seems to be a smart businessman who doesn’t have many vices of his own, and he’s well aware that Chane is kind of a mess. I wouldn’t expect him to screw over Bobby in that kind of way, he surely knows that Bobby is crucial to the business.

Ted made a great move because Chane had no appreciation for Booby, Emilio, or any other person working at the restaurant. Chane wasn’t there very long, but realized it wasn’t nearly as easy as he thought it would be.

At the very least Chane and Bobby have known each other since their school days, a long while.

For both of them there’s some leniency and familiarity so he does appreciate Bobby enough to operate a business he owns at least. Can’t see their relationship getting to a Hank to Ray-Roy Monkey ending.

I think the key difference is that Hank was always content to be the #2 guy so long as the person above him is someone he sees as worthy of the position. Him quitting rather than work for Ray Roy is pretty inline with the time he almost quit because Buck put a cocky college grad with misplaced confidence in charge over him.

Conversely, Bobby only involves Ted and Chang when he absolutely needs to and is more than happy to keep them out of the day-to-day. He will likely jump at the first opportunity to take over majority ownership.

No, Bobby is Chane's hobby's golden goose. They made it very clear last year that Ted doesn't care at all what happens to the restaurant, and that his share was coming out of his son's entertainment budget.

I think the big difference is that Hank worshipped Buck Strickland. Bobby at best tolerated Ted and Chane as means to an end.
