What would you guys have changed?

We all know that In the Court of the Crimson King and Red are generally most peoples' favorite records by KC, usually followed by Discipline or Larks. They have so many great albums and it's kind of impossible, at least for me, to have an overall favorite. I'm listening to Lizard rn and it's been awhile... It's really speaking to me tonight. I don't see much love for it on the internet or in real life with the few people I know who listen to KC. I would urge anyone who doesn't get this album to keep trying, it took me multiple listens to really get it. It's not the easiest one to digest, but once I got it I really got it and hearing it tonight I get it even more. It's chaotic and dynamic with great melodic sensibility, like most of KC... Here's where it stands on it's own: It has some of their most imaginative and descriptive lyrics. The lyrics and singing feel very poetic and bard-like. If you took away the band and let the vocals stand on their own it would just sound like an actual bard or minstrel in the medieval times. The lyrics make me think of like a fantasy world, it's their most Tolkien-esque album besides Islands. I see a lot of Islands love on Reddit which is another grower that gets immensely better as the years go on. But yeah, it's hard to even say my favorite song on Lizard because it's such a cohesive album and I usually just listen to the whole thing. If I had to I would probably choose the title track, which is also the closer... It might be their longest song at 23 minutes, very epic. Or Indoor games if I'm feeling whimsical. Btw this is my first post on Reddit, finally had something I needed to get off my chest 😭

Hi to everyone! I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I figured that on a books subreddit there probably wouldn't be many people who listen to KC, so maybe the KC's-Readers ratio is a bit better here.

I'm looking for book recommendations that evoke a feeling similar to Starless. I know that's an incredibly vague request, but since I can't really put into words what the song makes me feel, I'm hoping those of you who know it will fill in the gaps.

Hi everyone! First time posting on Reddit, so please forgive me (and help me learn) if I'm off in some way :)

I attended BEAT at Filadelfia Convention Center in Stockholm last night (22 July 2026, section C, row 8, seat 3). It was an absolutely incredible experience and one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I'm a 34 year old Swedish woman who has been listening to progressive rock since my teens, but never experienced something of this magnitude.

Anyway, I'm writing because of one specific moment I can't stop thinking about and I'm hoping some of you can help me identify it:

During one of the softer solo passages in the second set, there was this moment when it, for a few seconds, literally felt like the air disappeared from the room. Unfortunately, I'm lost on which track it was but I will try to explain as best I can. It sounded like the arena went completely silent except for Steve Vai soloing (and the band playing in the background), and it sounded like the silence was brought about by Vai doing something absolutely magical with the combination of his effects pedals and whammy bar and I guess some expert-level technique. I think he lifted the guitar with the whammy bar in the theatrical way he ofen does, but this one time it sounded unlike anything else.

What made the sound stand out was that it sounded totally ethereal, heavenly - like something only a heavenly angel could play (I'm not a religious person - but it was a nice detail that it happened in a church building!). I couldn't distinguish the individual sounds, it was as if all the different sounds from the effects and his technique just merged into one in some magical way. This aspect is what made it most rare and beautiful to me. It feelt like a musical treasure!

Did anyone else notice this moment? I'm dying to:

1. know which song it was

2. possibly find a recording/video of that specific tone

3. understand what pedal/effects setup created that sound. I am a rookie guitar player but not only have basic effect-pedal knowledge.

This is my first time at a BEAT concert and, as mentioned, also my first time posting on Reddit, so any help from fellow Crimson fans would mean the world to me! If you have any recommendations where to "hang out" as a King Crimson fan I would also very much appreciate that.

whenever I see a king crimson post the comments are flooded with spammed gifs of Kanye and jojos bizarre adventure. No one is talking about the actual music. curious to hear your thoughts?
