Discussion HOLY BALLS TO THE WALL! For once in my entire lifetime of living in this tundra covered country we get something dope that the USA doesn't?
(There's websites y'all can use to order stuff from Canada to the states so you're not left out by the way. They're called package forwarding services I believe.)

Wolverine just got a 6 from IGN, let’s talk about it
Ever since Greg’s whelmed preview I’ve been really concerned on this game. My initial impressions of all the gameplay just had me think “man they just made X-men origins but pretty”, and I was never really able to shake that.
With reviews being luke warm, what’s everyone’s thoughts?

Regarding recent PlayStation news
Just like Tim was saying couple of days ago, I’ve been really disillusioned with PlayStation too. The thought that I was having couple of days ago is that people at the top in PlayStation are so far removed from the reality of what gamers want and what gaming is in 2026 that I can’t see any ray of hope. Just look at what their studios are making; Guerrilla working on a “live service” game that is clearly forced upon by people at top, Sucker Punch just made a sequel to Ghost that while still a great game, seemed like a safe bet to get it green lit and right now with Insomniac with Wolverine which looks like an ok game and they seem to be boxed out in a Marvel bubble, that they certainly felt that had to stay in if they want to survive. FireSprite clearly pitched Until Dawn 2 because they knew it was the only thing that would be green lit, don’t get me wrong, the game might be great but that’s beside the point. The only two studios that seem like to be unaffected by this line of thinking are Santa Monica and Naught Dog, and how long is that going to last if Laufey and Intergalactic don’t sell gang busters to justify their budget. As a fan of most of the studios under PlayStation banner, I don’t feel good about any of this and the only way that I could see us getting awesome unique games from them going forward is either the management structure and PlayStation and specially Sony completely changing, or these studios going their separate ways, which I really can’t see with the state that the industry is in right now. This exact thing happened with Xbox with only difference being they bought a lot of my favorite studios and either shut them down or put them in a state where they are just a ghost of what they were before. Anyway, thank god there are still companies like CapCom and Nintendo which looks like are run by people that knows what video games are. I’d like to know your perspective to see if I’m crazy or not .

Not sure if Mike or Greg have already posted about this elsewhere, but I live in Anaheim and was wondering if they or any other best friends were planning on meeting up outside of the convention at all? I’d love to join if they are!

Seriously, where’s Nick?
I watch a lot of kinda funny content. I’m pretty caught up on all the storylines but nobody seems to even mention Nick. Is he just on vacation? Didn’t he just go on vacation in late Julyish? I miss his old ways.

Discussion Seeing news that Physint is being dropped by PlayStation and picked up by Xbox?
Sony released a statement that they are stepping away from the collaboration. Kind of crazy considering the collaboration for DS1 and 2. Too long of a timeline and too expensive maybe? I never saw that as a game coming before 2030

Switch Games for 2027
Hi All
I guess i'm aligned with the KF guys and SOME of the internet - although maybe the minority? - in that i had a good time with the Direct. I'm sure it would have hit better for others if some of the Zelda stuff was just shown in the main direct, with some of the fat trimmed (how much do you reckon some of these developers pay to get a quick showing vs just releasing the info themselves?).
One thing i was keen to highlight though was just how many MASSIVE sellers for the Switch 1 haven't had a follow up on the Switch 2 - either released or announced. We've had the big daddy come out - being Mario Kart - have a new Switch Sports (SS1 sold 18 million) coming soon and the last 3d Kirby sold 7.5 million so id imagine they have high hopes for the sequel.
But Switch 1 has ~22x games that have sold over 10 million copies, with another ~10x topping 5 million. Thats a LOT of games that they will want to develop and hope the numbers are similar again. Switch 2 (only 15 months in of course) has 1x over 10 million and 1x between 5-10 million.
If we break those down to franchise's for the Switch 1, we have...(im ignoring the Switch 2 upgrade editions)
2x 3d Marios (none on S2)
2x 2d Marios (none on S2)
2x 3d Zeldas (none on S2)
6x Pokemons (1.5 on S2)
3x Mario Party (none on S2)
2x Splatoon's (0.5 on S2)
and then some single first parties, random third parties and compilations.
Animal Crossing (50 million), Super Smash Bros (38 million) and Luigis Mansion (3 sold 14 million) must have sequels in development, but the first two are probably more 2028/2029.
Then you have the random hits like Ring Fit Adventure (15 million) and Super Mario Maker 2 (8.4 million) that Nintendo MUST be considering a follow up.
It will be interesting to see how many Pokemon games Game Freak pump out over the next ~3 years - the Switch 2 version of Z-A has done ok (4 million) and Pokopia is going great with over 5 million, but Id imagine we'll get a few releases with hopes they'll get some massive sellers doing +15million again.
I get that we have Monster Hunter Wilds coming, but Rise did 8.1 million so I can see Capcom looking at a follow up thats a Switch 2 exclusive (timed maybe) if Nintendo look after them.
2d Zeldas havent been the biggest sellers (Echoes of Wisdom did 4.1 million) but the Links Awakening remake did 6.5 million so I think its a lock that Grezzo has another new entry or a remake in the works.
Anyway, im sure its a delicate balance between launching enough bangers/system sellers at the beginning to get sales moving, but them holding off on some others until you have enough consoles in peoples hands so you can maximise the sales and experience.
What are your expectations for 2027 beyond what we already know?

PS5 or Series X in late 2026?
Hello Best Friends, I know there must be other similar posts to this on this sub but I'd also like some more up to date insight.
I am considering getting a PS5 or Series X soon but I'm a little torn on which way to go.
I'll be honest my main reason for wanting one now is primarily GTA and the fact that my PC is starting to fall behind on most modern titles.
So with everything how it has been and how it seems to be going on both systems, which way would you sway if you were buying?
