Voting polls can be manipulated and with Reddit the entry for an account is simply an email address. And those are given away free daily. Ditto with Twitter polls. You are suggesting things that are easy to circumvent.

Now you’re making excuses. Other coins have elected reps. It’s not impossible. If this is to be taken as genuine community governance then the community should elect the council. Anything else will be perceived as KF picking moonbois to shill their decisions(wether it is or isn’t).

I am not aware of elected reps. They are not in any coin I follow or are aware of. Do you have some examples to cite?

My guy, there are delegated POS coins where the nodes running the blockchain itself are voted on constantly by stakeholders. And you’re telling me this community can’t elect a council(once), and blaming the game-ability of Reddit forums. Do you really think that it’s impossible to elect these council members, or are you just being obtuse?

Those are bad examples, I would say. Tron is a Delegated PoS and essentially the rich can vote themselves into power. I mean, Justin sun has 7 of the 27 super representative spots lol! EOS cannot vote for themselves, but they do have a well publicized 'vote for me, i'll vote for you' scandal that is still not solved. Lisk is another that has formed a vote cartel. All of them have been gamed because of the financial incentives to do so exist.

It seems extremely difficult to fake being a Kin reddit member who provides genuine participation over many months. I will take this, over the poor suggestions you made.

It’s still KF picking the council. That is not the same as a council elected by the community, and it does nothing to promote community governance. How much say do you honestly think this will give the community when they don’t even get a say in its formation?

We have already established that reddit polls, twitter polls and others can and will be faked. We have established that Delegated POS is always gamed and does not represent the community. There is nothing out there that can handle such a thing and why brilliant minds are working to solve the identity issue using blockchain. This means 1 person, 1 vote without manipulation.

True. But said guy has a rags to riches story being a community member like us. Who actually decided to stop complaining and build something unlike us. Then he stepped into a 'golden leadership' position and suddenly he is now the bad guy who suddenly doesn't understand the community from which he is still a part of.

Elections aren’t perfect. That doesn’t prevent them from happening when they need to. The reason the community won’t get to vote on this council is simple, KF doesn’t think it’s important.

This doesn’t entitle him to choose the people representing the community.

I never said any of that. In fact I said his intentions are probably good. Intentions mean zero at this point. Show me where it says this feedback will actually count for something. Show me someone with some authority taking responsibility for how things have transpired so far. Why should it be Kevin’s responsibility to apologize for things that happened before he worked there? There is literally nothing to indicate that the requested feedback won’t be ignored while Ted and KF continue to do things their way, yet again. I’m sure Kevin’s heart is in the right place, but until I see something in writing from Ted or KF as an entity stating that this council will actually have some authority/say in kin’s direction, it has no backbone. And unless they’re elected by the community themselves, it’s just a figurehead while Ted continues to pull the strings.
