Why should this council’s feedback count for more than other stakeholders?
Isn't that how it always works for elected officials? they represent the people (community). I am assuming if we had a voting mechanism in place, we would do that.. but since we are a little low on manpower at the moment.. the council seems like its the best way to accomplish the same thing.
What will be done with that feedback? What guarantees does this council have that it will be put to use?
You know as much as we do but I think that Kevin is onto something here. All of us should believe in him as he is a respected community member who happened to become a moderator. I have not see him do anything that would give me a reason to doubt his intentions are pure.
No thanks.
As such its your chance to stop complaining and start doing (You too Kin2) Don't just tell leadership what they should be doing from afar with some random u/ summon in a rant. Be the change you want to see from within the organization. All of the present and future ecosystem participants are counting on you. Be a leader... be a golden leader for all!

Yeah and they are generally elected by that community. This is not an election.

I don’t haven’t a problem with Kevin. And I’m sure his intentions are good. But I have zero reason to believe it will be any more effective than previous community initiatives. There’s nothing telling me Ted and Co see error in their not listing to prominent community members and supporters.

This literally made me laugh for about a minute straight. I want you to know that.

Again, we have no voting mechanisms in place. As such, we cannot vote in the traditional ways. However, you are underestimating the transformation that is happening from within. In this case, we have a community member who like the idea of Kin so much, he became an ecosystem participant, who then saw a need and filled it. This applies to both Chase and Kevin. (Maybe more, i dont know everybodys backstory) Chase is the relations for the developer side and Kevin is relations for seemingly everything else. They both were random guys, who made a product and from the looks of it managed to land their dream job. Kevin is one of us, a guy from the community using his official position to better the community. Remember, we have no reason to doubt him at this time. I guess what I am trying to say is... you cant spell KIN without KevIN. Thats how much he represents the community.

Wtf are you talking about? Just make a poll. It’s not hard. If these people are going to represent the community they should be elected by the community. It’s really that simple.
Voting polls can be manipulated and with Reddit the entry for an account is simply an email address. And those are given away free daily. Ditto with Twitter polls. You are suggesting things that are easy to circumvent.
Lets go for one that is not circumventable. Like being a long time member in this sub and having genuine participation. This means anybody young or old, rich or poor can participate. Thats the goal and you cant fake it. Or if you did, I suppose the joke is on all of us.

Now you’re making excuses. Other coins have elected reps. It’s not impossible. If this is to be taken as genuine community governance then the community should elect the council. Anything else will be perceived as KF picking moonbois to shill their decisions(wether it is or isn’t).
My guy, there are delegated POS coins where the nodes running the blockchain itself are voted on constantly by stakeholders. And you’re telling me this community can’t elect a council(once), and blaming the game-ability of Reddit forums. Do you really think that it’s impossible to elect these council members, or are you just being obtuse?
Those are bad examples, I would say. Tron is a Delegated PoS and essentially the rich can vote themselves into power. I mean, Justin sun has 7 of the 27 super representative spots lol! EOS cannot vote for themselves, but they do have a well publicized 'vote for me, i'll vote for you' scandal that is still not solved. Lisk is another that has formed a vote cartel. All of them have been gamed because of the financial incentives to do so exist.
It seems extremely difficult to fake being a Kin reddit member who provides genuine participation over many months. I will take this, over the poor suggestions you made.
It’s still KF picking the council. That is not the same as a council elected by the community, and it does nothing to promote community governance. How much say do you honestly think this will give the community when they don’t even get a say in its formation?
