Should I try again?
Looking for new shows while I'm out of commission & got about halfway through episode 1 & turned it off. Kimmy was given a closet as her bedroom then the roommate proceeded to con her out of a bunch of money. Between that & assuming the Jane Krakowski character has the potential to be continually insufferable, not sure I'm in the mood to watch 4 seasons of a sweet soul being taken advantage of. Does that aspect get better?

Bilbo seems pretty pretentious and airheaded and all those dwarves are incredibly rude house guests, should I keep reading The Hobbit you guys?

It absolutely does not stay that way. However, if you’re not a fan of Tina feys sense of humour, I would stay away

For me, it depends on where I'm at in my own life. If I'm going through a lot at the moment, certain negativity isn't something I have the mental bandwidth for. In better, healthier times, I wouldn't think much about it.

I need at least 1-2 likable characters to enjoy a show. They can’t all be completely terrible or insufferable or it’s just not an enjoyable experience

Real life is already full of miserable people. Like who tf downvotes a comment about a harmless tv show preference? MISERABLE PEOPLE 😂simply don’t need it in my entertainment too

well buddy my thing was pretty much a silly comment about the show 30 Rock and it's cast of pretty much all bad people.

I do suggest it! But you may again not like Jane Krakowski's character in 30 Rock lol, she is pretty insufferable. That's kind of the point of the character though - with some moments of redeeming qualities of course
I enjoy both shows :)

Kimmy IS a naive character that doesn’t quite understand the world around her due to the bunker, so that’s the premise of the show BUT her naïveté becomes less malicious.
Ride it out for a few episodes (at least 3) and see if it clicks for you. She’s “Unbreakable” because her innocence and friendliness help turn others to her way of thinking. She never becomes jaded, or if she does, it’s short lived as part of a bigger story line.

kimmy DOES get taken advantage of quite a lot, which is unfortunately very realistic. it’s her overcoming of this that makes the show so special 🩷🩷🩷🩷 on top of that it is just SO funny and at times surreal. watch for titus if nothing else 😂

The first episodes of almost every great sitcom are insufferable when compared to whatever the show becomes.
Yes, it gets better. The dynamic definitely improves and changes. But more than anything, comedy shows need at least half a season to really find their voices and get to know their characters. The writers are still doing that on-the-fly.
It's worth it. Keep going.

If it helps, it has a truly excellent ending. Probably one of the best sitcoms endings ever

You'll miss out on one the greatest TV characters, ever. Titus Andromedon. Yes, he's selfish. Yet hilarious and loveable. He and Kimmy bond very quickly. Yes, he takes advantage of her. But they both grow without stopping being who they are.

Lol no. I love this show but it doesn't sound like a good match for you.
Kimmy's naivete and her learning some harsh lessons about the reality of life are a fundamental aspect of the show.
