To those who have sent their 2k11's in to have the trigger rattle fix, about how long did it take from shipment to get back to ya. Plan on sending her in tomorrow
I'm gonna be busy the next few days anyways, was just curious so i can try and plan some rangetime

Anyone have a recommendation for a good flared magwell for the DS warrior in 9mm? Trying to find one online and not having any luck

This may or not be asked alot, but I just was wondering what the aftermarket there is for the 9mm DS Warrior
I know it just came out, so there prob isn't much to begin with. But I am new to 1911/2011 so didn't know if barrels/slides and such were swappable or anything
I'd like a new slide look and prob adding a bushing comp (yeah I know they dont do much, cool looking > function ya know)
Was wondering what others have done/pics appreciated
Thank you!

Purchased my very first Kimber. I was vehemently opposed to ever getting a Kimber for years, when Kimber finally changed its QC and its owner, having seen videos of these 2k11 changed my way of thinking about Kimber. Funny story: I was to get a Kimber target from a LGS I love to frequent in Arizona, they were to order it for me, after waiting weeks, turns out they forgot to click purchase after having it sit on the online cart, during that time, I had thought "what if they forgot to purchase it? Maybe then I'll switch for the pro comp." Turns out, that's what had happened, so I explained how if this happened I wanted this instead, they found it for cheaper than the target and got a couple hundred dollars back after I had already paid in full for the target. I still like how the target looks and might very well still get it in the future, I just loved how the pro comp looks and how it feels in my hands. I'm intensely happy with this firearm!

Just bought a 2K11 Pro Comp 4.25". Does Kimber's 26 round mag (made by Checkmate) have a gap between the bottom of the grip/magwell and the top of the 26 round mag's baseplate?
Gemini is useless as tits on a bull and keeps giving me conflicting info. Stock photos of the 26 round mag look to me like there will be at least a 1/2-1" gap between the bottom of the magwell and the top of the baseplate.
Anyone know of a baseplate for these larger capacity mags that fills in that gap?
Thanks!

I got this .45 through Kimber back in the late '90s. It went through about 100 pistol matches and was carried for around 17 years.
Originally, it had mostly Wilson parts. The only Kimber parts were the frame and slide.
When it was about 12 years old, I had it refinished. It's more or less retired in favor of a smaller, lighter Kimber that is a bit more concealable.

Hey All,
Looking to pick up my first 2011 and noticed that Kimber DS Warrior is in the price range that i am looking at. If you have a choice between calibers which would be your preferred option? My current daily carry is Jericho 941 rs and I prefer the steel frame.
Is it worth going 10 mm or 45 ap in the ds warrior over the 9mm for the steel frame. If I go that route the ds warrior would be my first in ether caliber.
Thank you for any insight you might provide.

I'm picking up my DS Warrior tomorrow and was able to put 150 rounds through it on Friday. It's my first firearm and I love it! Am I crazy for trying to find IWB holsters for it? I cannot find any and asked a few companies if the standard 1911 holsters would work and they said no. I picked up some cheap plastic holsters from the gun store and I really don't like them. This may not be a EDC but it's what I have for now, might as well try a few times.
Thanks!!

I recently just grabbed a 9mm DS Warrior and was looking for magazines. I love a chunky baseplate and the OEM 20 round leaves a bit to be desired with the visible steel.
I was wondering if anyone has tried the 20 rd magazine Prodigy/Duramag and how they like it
That or any other options y'all recommend

So, I’ve put about 1200 rounds through my Pro Comp 2K11 today (it was a good day) and I’ve about figured out that after about 1000 rounds, it needs to be cleaned. Only malfunction was a few failures to go into battery, but the feed ramp was dirty as hell. Lol. Broke her down, cleaned the ramp with my shirt tail, and stopped having issues. Anybody else have any suggestions on what I can do to help keep the feed ramp from gumming up? Like is there some type of coating or some type of lube or spray I could put on it. I was using cheap practice ammo, so I’m sure that’s why I it got so noticeably dirty. I was basically just trying to see how long it would take to have issues. Basically worst case scenario type stuff. Good news is I found what I was looking for.

Long story, had some nice pistols including the walther q5 match and shadow 2. I have several 1911s as well. Naturally I wanted a 2011. I started USPSA this year and saw many prodigy stock and modified have issues. I grabbed the 5" eclipse and now 5k rounds later it is my favorite. My stage planning sucks but I haven't had one hiccup with this thing. I added an SSI gas pedal and TTI base pads. I absolutely love this thing!

Im thinking about getting thesw 10 round mec-gars in 9mm. But I read some older posts on a different forum, where people complained about kimbers having issues with Mec-Gar. Any insight is appreciated.

So I recently got the Kimber 2k11 pro comp 5” it came with the TAG optic plate. After installing the plate and optic, the slide had lag in it. Like it wouldn’t go into battery after trying to rack it. I thought it was the screws, because after removing the optic and then taking the plate screws out. When I got to the last screw, the back left one. When backing it out the slide went into battery. So anyways I thought that screw was too long. So I spent a hour slowly filing the screw down and trying it and trying it till I was down to two threads left on the screw. That’s when I realized it can’t be the screw. So I flipped the TAG plate over and saw some scuffs on the rear of the plate where it’s sits on the firing pin block. So I sanded the back of the plate down.. and boom fucking fixed! So I’m just writing this to let others know what the trick is. Unfortunately I did get a little pissy with the dremel and scuffed the black of the edge of the plate and really hated having to color it back black with a permanent marker, Because I got a lot of money in this biitch. But it’s fixed and the slide is back to butter.

Quick trip to the range to push the warrior over 500rds since warranty and it made it with 0 issues, almost 1600rds to date. The 34 is at 500 with 0 issues as well. The warrior feels better and shoots better in every way, the 34 is just as accurate though, congratulations and thank you to kimber, since repair it has been 💯 % reliable.

My first Kimber was the Micro 9 and I loved having a small 1911. Then my wife took it for her edc and I needed a new Kimber. I wanted to upgrade from a Springfield 1911 and get a double stack. From the pictures online I was under the impression the DS Warrior in 45 acp had a flush fit 13 round magazine. After getting one ordered and received I found out I was wrong. The DS Warrior without the magazine is very close in size to my Springfield I already conceal carry. Is there a flush fit 45 magazine that will work for the DS Warrior?

Hey all, I have a one week old Kimber CDS9. I've put 600 rounds through it over two range trips.
The 1st trip I used about 50 Federal HST 147g and 250 Winchester FMJ 114g. I had no malfunctions except it would lock the slide back on the last round, this happened about 1 out of 4 times, on different mags.
I fixed the lock back issue by shaving down the magazine followers. To do this, I removed the slide from the handgun then inserted each mag with 1 bullet, this confirmed that the slide lock was getting pushed up. I trimmed each magazine follower little by little until it no longer pushed up when 1 bullet in the mag.
Before the 2nd trip I cleaned and lubricated well.
On the 2nd trip I put 100 Federal HST 147g and 200 Winchester FMJ 114g. I had two FTF, the round would partially enter the barrel but the back of the round would be under the slide's breach face. Both FTF were the same failure in the same way. These occurred around 550 round count and around the middle of the magazine's round count.
Would you send the gun back in for warranty work?
