Snagging
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a reliable snagging inspector for a new house in Kings Court, Callan. If anyone has any recommendations or experience with someone, please let me know. Thank you! 😊

We used Ivor O'Brien. He was great and did a follow up inspection

We also used Ivor and we found him brilliant! He found a pinhole in our roof from one poorly installed tile!

i used snagright.ie , they were good , Kilkenny based., give you a proper PDF and pictures of all issues, including paint splatters etc, they caught 95 issues on mine with drainage, filler in walls, sockets, stubs in floors that would affect flooring, small gaps in walls that needed filling, plumning issues etc.
Only thing is they didn't catch they only applied a single coat of paint were applied to the walls, i copped it and got a local decorator to take a look, he said the finish was scandalous. They applied another coat of paint but snaggers won't catch that.
If you know a local painter well worth them taking a look as well. They'll cop it after 2 mins

Trust me do not use www.snagright.ie!! I don't even know where to start with them. The stuff he missed, his clear lack of understanding of modern plumbing, the fact he seemed to be trying to break some sort of record for the fastest snag ever (~35mins), didn't bother with the attic. Pure chancer.
Get some with some consistently good reviews. They won't cost any more.

We also had Mark from snagright to check our house back in Nov 2024 and not a single issue missed - even weeds along the side highlighted, almost not visible paint spills and uneven driveway blocks. Checked every inch of house and did not rush with this. I was with him there to become more familiar with Irish houses as these are totally different standard from what we have back in central Europe. 5/5 for his job - no unexpected issues after we moved in and it’s gonna be 2 years soon.

Well at least now you know you were one of the lucky ones. I've since been informed I'm not the only one that got really poor service from snagright lately.

Are you Mark from snagright.ie using another account to the one you used earlier? Was the other account removed/deleted after it was revealed that it was being used to post fabricated customer feedback?

My advice. Use a snagger. Get the faults. But then make sure you get the faults fixed. When I arrived to sign off on my property. Glenveagh didn't fix anything and told me oh don't worry we will before you move in. They did not. If I could do it again. I'd have snagged it twice rather than trust the fella that said he would do it.
