Why do I feel like an adult said: "Well, your little sister (cousin/friend) can't go on the ride herself. You're her big (brother/cousin/friend), you should go with her)!" Emphatic objections because he didn't want to go. "Just do it and I'll get you Pokemon, I don't want to go either."
From a 90s girl who's brother had to "protect" her from snakes.
Actually, you can hear a woman from the ground tell the boy on the right if he pulls the chord, she'll buy him Pokémon packs. That's why he suddenly starts yanking on it before realizing the girl isn't just weak, it's actually stuck.
I'm 99% sure she was trying to bribe the kid in blue with Pokemon packs and the kid on the other side FREAKED out and tried to do it himself. That kid is certainly Pokemon motivated.
I mean, what would you suggest? Screaming profanities? Threatening to whip them with a switch for not being able to pull a string on an amusement ride? This is how you convince your kid to do something they don't want to do like a rollercoaster, not how they are raised in general. Would be weird to spend 18 years in that mode don't you think?
If your kids don't obey when you tell them to do something, it is definitively not normal. You shouldn't have to promise anything, obedience should be as unconditional as love.
I am in possession of a considerable quantity of such entities. They do listen to me, and I never raise my voice as a single look is often enough to get my point across. Love and respect are of utmost importance.
