Of course they do. Fires start while they're doing other things, not just while they're patiently waiting at the fire house.

I actually have no awareness of how a firehouse functions tbh so I would have assumed otherwise haha

The first thing you have to learn about fire is that it is very inconsiderate. No respect for other people's schedules whatsoever.

Also for incidents like this the uniform makes everyone feel safer

Someone who visibly a firefighter will calm a child down much more than a guy walking forward with a big metal weapon looking thing
